Cristiano Ronaldo - Much Ado About Al Nassr

Absolutely chuffed the bellend done that interview and sabotaged his United career. Feels like a dark cloud has been lifted

I feel for the Saudi fans who would have been excited and paid to watch a generational footballer, not a player in retirement.
He’s physically shot and for the younger generation will detract from what was the best player I have ever seen wear red.

Of course it counts for something but this is €500m.
When you're already worth hundreds of millions what difference does a few hundred more make? Is he planning to get into investment? Does he want to own 3 private jets because 1 isn't enough? It's not in my nature to be greedy so maybe I'll never understand the desire to have way more of something than you'll ever need

He must have really hated being a squad player or hated Ten Hag or the Saudi offer was just too tempting. He would have actually played a good number of games with Martial always injured. I'm glad he's gone though

That's the daft thing. With Martial unable to play 2 games in a row he would have started a fair bit. He was starting plenty of games just before he went!
The no pre season put him behind from the start and then it just fell away.
And no-one misses the constant headlines of him not starting a game, being subbed every single move etc.

Curious also. Ronaldo should have said sorry for doing that interview with that gobshite Morgan and accept he's a squad player whereby he could have featured in the cup games.

Edit* rimaldo has since replied, a deluded fanboy it seems and no more needs to be said there.
He got you hook, line and sinker and you're not the only one. This is what a fanboy's post looks like:

This is nonsense, by far the biggest difference from last season is having casemiro in centre mid. Ronaldo was clearly done this season, but I don't think martial or weghorst up front is some mega improvement. Rashford actually looking like he can play football again is a big difference, and I know you might blame Ronaldo for his loss of form, but at times he genuinely couldn't beat a man, had an atrocious touch and couldn't shoot. Night and day from the player this year.

If we'd had casemiro and ten hag last year, we'd have seen a much better Ronaldo, he still managed 18 league goals last year. But we played him way too much and it accelerated his downfall, even Zidane 5 years ago knew to manage his minutes.

Also, I do think people underestimate the damage losing his son did to him. I know if one of my friends lost their child, I probably would give them far more leeway in terms of the behaviour over the next year or two

Bringing Ronaldo back was the worst signing in club history and everyone involved in sanctioning that signing should be probed. Wasted so much money that we could have used right now.

I agree generally but it is still a lot of money, a significant % of his total wealth added on for a couple years. Also, not to give him credit, this was probably his last option as he realised too late no big club wants him so may as well go increase his worth by double or something

He also has a lot of moochers who also need feeding. I am convinced his closest entourage do nothing but fan his ego and fund their lifestyle like that

Well as great a man as he is, Fergie has been directly involved in Moyes, brining back Phelan & Ole and in bringing back Ronaldo.
Safe to say one of our biggest mistakes since his retirement has been the inability to break away from SAF’s influence.
Fortunately with Murtough & ETH, we finally appear to have moved past that.

Ronaldo fecked himself up completely. He ruined the end of his career with no way to return. He was declining and passing through a period of awful form. He should have played it wisely and stayed on the bench of United while taking a senior figure among the team and as it went on I had no doubt he would have been of help either from the bench or even as a starter in some games from point to point. He needed to kill his ego and accept his decline and that he's still playing at a big club whose fans used to adore him.

But no, he let his ego kill him instead. He threw all his cards without any guarantee, asked to leave, acted like a prick and finished it off with that ridiculous interview. His ego made him believe he would get a new contract at any other big club once he left United. He didn't realize with his current form and salary, United was his best shot to stay relevant at top level, just by accepting to downgrade his role to a squad player and senior figure rather than the main man of the team.

Terminating his contract with United, finding no other clubs interested and ending up in Saudi League killed any chance for him to finish his career respectfully.

What a shame. For such a great player, he has the mindset of literally a 10 years old baby. A proof that not all successful people are actually mature or intelligent enough to know what's best for them.

His agent should also be blamed for that debacle because if the player is a crybaby, it's his agent's job to slap him to wake him the feck up.
Maybe thats why Mendes is not his agent anymore because he tried to do exactly what you're suggesting.

Rudi Garcia's fault. Not playing to his strengths. He is a goalscorer. He will score goals if he gets the service. World class.

Famous words uttered by wannabe hardman Roy Keane.

i don’t think it’s wumming to believe that if the hag was the manager he says he is, then why didn’t he set the team up in a way that meant ronaldo scored more goals? even if that meant we scored less goals as a team and drew/lost more games.

It would've been worth it for the siuus alone.

He’s worth €500m and being offered his entire net worth for two years of work.

You're simply unreal mate

Anyway I'm not into discussion = will not reply back ;)

Fanbois have been quite, maybe all crying into their new Al Nassr 7 shirts.

Best thing that could have happened to us. I hope we are truly done by hiring big names who are past it

He should buy one of the Madeira based teams in the Portuguese league and end his career there.

By most reports Mendes did try and speak to him. It's one of the reasons why they split, Mendes no longer represents Ronaldo, it seems he won't even listen to his long term advisor and one of the key men that helped build his career.

His agent tried to and promptly got sacked

The final, most damaging blow Ed Woodward inflicted on this club.

Moyes - 100% agree

Ole - is there any substance to this? Haven't read anything to suggest Fergie was directly involved

Phelan - wasn't this purely Ole's call? Again haven't seen anything that ties Fergie directly

Ronaldo - Surely he was acting on behalf of the club, and using his sway to clinch a deal that the club hierarchy had made a decision on? Can't blame him for that.

Best to forget about him now. Don't let him live rent free inside your head.

My 8 year old son saw one of the greatest Footballers of all time, score a hattrick at Old Trafford. He can tell his grandkids about that one day.

We move on now with a serious manager and a proper team.

Looking at our situation now, had he not been such a prick pre-world cup, he would likely have been back in the team within a few games post world cup when the inevitable Martial injury happened, alongside needing to rotate with the amount of games we have as I doubt we would have signed Weggy if he stuck around.

Oh well, better for us

To be fair his agent actually did that. Ronaldo's response was to cut him off and ask him personal manager to negotiate the deal with the Saudis.

Didnt know that Cafe have so many billioners. How CR screwed himself? Sitting on UTD bench or 400 millions?
He doesnt gives a feck about UTD. Bet your house if RM had oferend him route to return back he would play for free.

where to start? sorry for forcing the undisputed goat out of the door by not picking him?

sorry for playing stupid mind games and distracting ronaldo from his world cup, forcing his performances to drop a few notches (he’s only human) and allowing that worm messi to sneak in and win an undeserving crown. well done ten hag, ruining the last world cup that actually matters. they’re all irrelevant now without ronaldo.

sorry for giving the worm fanboys ammunition to claim their steroid team needer is the best of all time (news flash, he’s closer to the worst (gary neville.))

sorry for being jealous of ronaldo’s fashion sense and copying his style in that chess advert with the worm and wearing turtle necks the whole time.

sorry for forcing ronaldo to do an interview like a captive, detailing just how bad things are under ten hag and then using his media pull and illuminati ties to twist every word and make ronaldo seem like the bad guy.

ten hag never even came out and said ronaldo was the best ever. he never came out and criticised the worm. he never once played ronaldo in a way that meant he could score the goals he deserved.

imagine having to go back to your family after a long day and tell them you didn’t score today because a man with no hair was jealous of your hair and turtle neck? imagine going to the office and not being able to siuuu every time an excel formula didn’t return a hashtag error. imagine coming home to your wife and breaking down in tears when she asked you how your day was because a bald man didn’t let you siuuu on your lunch break? “sorry for what?” he says. jeez.

p.s i am not into discussion = will not reply back
