He is 36, but I have seen a lot of people call him 38. How long before he is 40?
In 2 weeks. He is 36, but I have seen a lot of people call him 38. How long before he is 40?
Wow, glass half empty? And Ronaldo was still some way near his prime then
Watch what Lukaku added to inter last season in his overall gameplay, compared to Ronaldo. People look at the end stats and he's Ronaldo still scored, but Juve basically played with 10 men when they were out of possession. That's, why they didn't, win the league despite the fact they clearly had the best squad.Worrying times for Lukaku then.

I'd be astounded if work isn't going on behind the scenes to get this game on TV, whether that's a possibility at this stage I have no idea. One things for sure, it won't prevent a full old trafford at 3pm. It may dissuade fans from going to other games though!L
Yeah the loyal fans deserve this.
We have to get this game televised ffs. How can they miss out on his homecoming, the PL will want to milk it surely?

Look Ronaldo is still danger around the box especially in the air, but anyone who thinks we are getting anything near Prime Ronaldo is deluding themselves.
They didn't win the league because they have declined and Pirlo wasn't very good. Trying to blame Ronaldo for their failure is funny considering their recent results without him and they even have a better manager now.Watch what Lukaku added to inter last season in his overall gameplay, compared to Ronaldo. There’s just something in my eyes, hayfever or something…I'm actually crying after reading 'Sir Alex, this one is for you'.

Thank god! I was under the impression he was 182 years old by the media.38 by the end of the contract
Yeah he only scored the 29 goals for them in the league. Five more than £90M+ Lukaku but it's Ronaldo that's the problem and nothing to do with their declining squad and poor manager they had last season...So having Ronaldo is like playing with 10 men?
Not really, we've committed to paying a 38year the second-highest wage ever given 2 a premier league player. It isn't just the fact he is 36 now it's the fact he is old for a footballer now and we have agreed to pay him a massive wage past when most footballers are retired. The mental gymnastics
Not sure if you've noticed but Ronaldo clearly isn't most footballers. Not really, we've committed to paying a 38year the second-highest wage ever given 2 a premier league player. when the opposition has the ball yes it is.So having Ronaldo is like playing with 10 men?
He’s a commercial monster, it will make perfect sense financially. Expect us to sign some massive sponsorship deals off the back of this. Not really, we've committed to paying a 38year the second-highest wage ever given 2 a premier league player. Me neither. That last sentene. I didn't expect to get misty eyed before lunch
He’s still in the top 10 players in the world, possibly higher. You are massively underrating his current ability still. Not really, we've committed to paying a 38year the second-highest wage ever given 2 a premier league player. of course not, but he isnt going to be player worth 385k a week when he is 38.Not sure if you've noticed but Ronaldo clearly isn't most footballers.

'You have my word'
I’m hype for him & all, but are we going to create any chances for him with our bagel formation?

No probably not. Hopefully we improve after the international break. We certainly have the personnel to give him chances but I can see a good few quiet games where he gets blamed like all Utd strikers currently.I’m hype for him & all, but are we going to create any chances for him with our bagel formation?
I'm not gonna win this 1 so i'm not gonna bother arguing, but this is a terrible idea based on nostalgia and name value. Committing to making a 36-year-old our highest-earning player and paying him that wage past his 38th birthday is never going to end well. That money could have been spending so much better in other areas of the team instead of in a position we were pretty well set this season. It was also likely to impact Greenwoods development as a striker as he basically won't get any time in the position now with Ronaldo and Cavani. Plus this is not the Ronaldo of yesteryear, yes he will still score, but his game when a team is out of possession is basically none exsistent and the other 10 players are going to have to compensate which is going to cause problems through the team.
Of course I will get shouted down and told to shut up as fans only care about the big shinney name, but this is an awful signing.

Ronaldo is literally Ernest Hemingway. Show some appreciation for his many talents.Let's not lose sight of the fact that his post obviously wasn't written by him.
It's Ronaldo.
He's not most footballers. Ibrahimovic came here at 35 and was successful with a much worse team + manager who overplayed him until he tore his ACL.
He's not coming here to cash in checks and go out for walks in rainy Manchester.
He wants to win.
