I think Ronaldo, Mendes and whoever else is associated on that crack team, have really overestimated his desirability in todays market.
Dunno how i missed this gem but just watched it, found it randomly by watching NLS, an anthem for all cringe Ronaldo fans.
It should go on blast when he fecks off.
To not pay him? Of course we’d let him go abroad for free. Why would we let him go for free?
I’ll just say this, it is of course extraordinarily unlikely but until he himself comes out and rubbishes the narrative that he wants out I don’t think we can say it’s impossible.
If ETH is happy to see him go and Chelsea are the only club to want him I very much hope that the United board don't block the move merely to avoid losing face. You’re desperate for a striker who can score goals so think the link would always be made. Issue being United won’t sell to Chelsea which I think makes it a non starter.
Because you won't expect money when someone assumes a liability from you.Why would we let him go for free?
I think he'll go to Madrid for free. Have a funny feeling. He'd still be a killer in the league there.
Surely they would've sounded that out before going 'public'Even with the rumours that Ronaldo is willing to lower his wage, I'm fairly confident Mendes was expecting far more interest.
Heck, I bet they were expecting major clubs to be breaking down the door to sign him.
Fair.
But walking into the dressing room and seeing some of the most respected and decorated players in Europe like Thiago Silva, Kante, Jorginho etc is a bit different than seeing Harry Maguire or Marcus Rashford.
If ETH is happy to see him go and Chelsea are the only club to want him I very much hope that the United board don't block the move merely to avoid losing face.
Why not? Chelsea taking Ronaldo will only increase our chance of finishing top 4.I haven’t said it’s impossible he leaves but I’m pretty sure the club won’t let him move inside the PL.
People talk about this like United have no say for some reason when the opposite is actually true.
You'd think but it sounds like Chelsea are the only club who seem to be involved and even then there seems to be doubts that they would actually make a eventual move.Surely they would've sounded that out before going 'public'
Hopefully he does a year at Chelsea, a year at Barca and then rounds it off with a year in Benfica.
Destroy that legacy, out-snake Di Maria himself.
Michael Cox wrote an interesting little perspective on the Ronaldo situation for The Athletic. It's very light on detail, but I thought this was very apt:
I think he'll go to Madrid for free. Have a funny feeling. He'd still be a killer in the league there.
The worst thing is I think we’ll just take him back with open arms when nobody wants him and our fans will scream viva Ronaldo until they’re red in the face againHe’s fecked himself here hasn’t he. Publicly shaking his arse at other clubs, only to turn around and find nobody is paying attention.
As much as I don't like Bayern's monopoly on the German league, I do admire the way they run their club if that report is true: 'Ronaldo is a legend, one of the greatest of all time, but not part of our philosophy, so we don't want'.
Over to you Chelsea. They must be the last club available to him at this stage, unless Real Madrid suddenly get nostalgic or Sporting spring a surprise.

Milan just renewed Zlatan for another year I think. Together with Giroud they already have two senior citizen strikers so I doubt they’d be in for Ronaldo. We're not selling him to Chelsea.
That is 100% out of the question. As expected, Bayern and PSG weren't going to go for him.
Only Serie A beckons - Inter have Martinez and Lukaku (plus ruins rep with Juve). Milan? I don't think so, would upset their dynamics.
So he's left with United or Chelsea as it stands and the latter is not happening.
The worst thing is I think we’ll just take him back with open arms when nobody wants him and our fans will scream viva Ronaldo until they’re red in the face again
That's an interesting way to look at it. Maybe not 10 men, but like 10.5 men. A lot of luxury players are like that and they don't even give you that one goal lead to start the game, so /shrugs
Fixed that for youNah.
Come game 1, he'll score and we'll all siuuuuuuu.
Yep.Benzema is coming off a Ballon d'Or worthy season, Real Madrid will not be moving for Ronaldo. They've moved on, we never did.
They're actually working to extend Giroud at the moment too along with trying to tie down Leao who's become quite the hot commodity.Milan just renewed Zlatan for another year I think. Together with Giroud they already have two senior citizen strikers so I doubt they’d be in for Ronaldo.
I won't be happy with him if he stays. But I'll certainly cheer him on if he is playing on the pitch. And hope that he does his best. We need goals and everyone to be at their best next season. The worst thing is I think we’ll just take him back with open arms when nobody wants him and our fans will scream viva Ronaldo until they’re red in the face again
