well we will see ourselves when the system with team players is implemented and one selfish player who's finishing regressed massively last couple of years will be finally out. He's done just about enough in terms of attacking output solely based on numbers, being absolutely the main man taking all pens and freekicks, without it's actually underwhelming record for a man leading the line for one of the biggest clubs. But in transition he provided zero help as much as defensively for the team unit to have any structure.

But obviously we will see once Ten Haag implements that and how many goals could be created only based on active pressing
 
Ronnie to Bayern is probably the best solution for all. We might want to grease the wheels by paying up for Frenkie. We get an excellent midfielder and still preserve some myths and marketing potential around a legend.

If you looked at the number of flicks he fecked up in the interplay his shambolic finishing throughout the season and his zero presence off the ball - with a system coach like ten Haag who's team create a lot of chances just by effective pressing and in quick team transition.

We will see a lot more overloads and our player outnumbering the opposition in more advanced positions rather than hope for Fred to win the ball somewhere deep or opposition to losing it and hope the palyer around will find a very difficult long range pass for players who barely can take players on.

Of course this is something I predict and hope for.

Well if Elanga is given the number one position in the team as a striker taking all freekicks and pens (which fairly wouldn't be the ideal scenario as we need someone more stablished as a big club) rather than spending time on the right wing out of position and tracking back, yes he can easily do that and even if not, you may as well look at the player like Firmino who is an ultimate team player and creates chances for others.

Obviously I am comparing 37 year old Ronaldo (next year 38) with a breaking through lad who will work his arse off but be fundamental for starting the press and winning the ball up front.

Also look it up yourself against whom those goals came and tell me how it compares to someone Lukaku who was 90% of times eliminated in big games and his statistics got skewed against minnows.

Lastly I am not saying it should be Elanga himself - I am expecting from him much more, but I am using him as an example of how much better we as a team can play without one selfish man who's way past it to start games for a team aspiring to play for the title.

Yep thanks. Also Liverpool and City are by far the best teams in the world right now, so it is expected from them to walk over us.. so that initial argument has no legs..
 
What makes me sad about this whole thing is that we taught him how to be a great footballer under Fergie... I hoped we might have taught him how to bow out gracefully and with humility under EtH.

Looks like that's not going to happen now.
 
I'm actually relieved we can go into next season without the distraction. Lose the occasional hat-trick but gain the flexibility, remove drama... Awesome. I'm not expecting any silverware either way so better off not wasting time and effort on anything but the future.

What I don't underatand is how anyone in their right mind believes Bayern would get anywhere near him. It's not just wages, even with a massive cut I could see them not being entirely sold on it.

Hope so. I really don't see where he goes if Chelsea or Bayern are not interested, and both seem to be cautious about bringing in a player who might disrupt their systems.

He might end up staying with us at this rate because nobody wants him.
 
Its heartbreaking seeing him go again and not fulfill the years. I get it. He doesn't have a lot of years left maybe 2 or 3. He could definitely smash europa league do I thought that would intrigued him at least. One trophy he doesn't have. Oh well. Sucks to lose our only goalscorer but my god he could have said it sooner. Lost out on Haaland, Kane and Nunez ffs. Now Martial and Rashford are our only hope :lol:....kill me now.
 
There’s no way the club had no idea about his state of mind if a number of journalists had insight as early as May.

I don't see a club with aspirations to win the Champions League taking him on. The only place I could think is PSG, if Neymar actually leaves as some have suggested.
 
So if we lose Ronaldo, he's on what 500k a week? so that's 24m after tax.

So realistically we can put that towards a new striker plus any other sales. We should be able to get a decent replacement.

Absolutely but even so, what do they do? It's lose lose for the club. They can't buy someone in case the very expensive toddler does throw a wobbly. And if they did force the issues and he left the fanboys would go insane. As it is theyre blaming the club for what is basically his in character actions.

So this report you posted was as early as January. Therefore why are people so adamant that he spoiled our transfer window. Surely the club would have had the foresight to have a replacement lined up? Heck, the club should be signing a striker regardless of him staying or not.

I guarantee that if this news came out in the mainstream media as early as back then our transfers would still be the same as it is right now. The fact that we’ve struggled to sign anyone all window indicates that we almost would have signed no one either way.

The annoyance here should be directed at the United board for being so incompetent in the transfer market.

The club should have been signing a striker either way. Maybe even two strikers as we lost Cavani and Greenwood. Ronaldo’s transfer status shouldn’t have any bearing on that.

I’m with the fat man - this is a coordinated strategic exit by both parties. Like I keep saying - if you’ve been listening and reading Whitwell pieces the last few months you would know the club have been briefing snippets against Ronaldo for some time. The fact Stone has so quickly said an exit would suit both parties and that he was causing a divided camp tells you we knew it was coming and had no intention of trying to keep him.

Would Messi and him really get along that well? also that's two players who are hardly renowned for their tracking back. PSG signing him would be a bit of a circus I think. To me it looks like Chelsea or Bayern are the only two clubs he could join realistically.

Didn't Ronaldo also cry during his last home game with the club? Maybe i'm reading too much into it but it looked like a farewell but then stuff in the media came out that he was happy to stay another year even without champions league football.

Sorry I thought that was the context.

There is no way we should be this threadbare but it's a culmination of many stupid decisions over a few years. Bringing Ronaldo in Ironically being one in my opinion.

Everyone is annoyed at them. Also at Ronaldo for this shit timing.
 
Ronaldo fanboys making excuses for him disrupting our transfer window. Everything that was in the papers earlier in the season was mere speculation. Ronaldo did not communicate with the club until now.

Ronaldo fanboys also want him to go to Bayern because they know it is the perfect club for stat paddling.
 
I would have a hard time to believe for an agent as experience as Mendes, he didn't sound out potential clubs for his client before Ronaldo announced his intention of leaving. It will be extremely embarrassing for his client if no club want his service in the end.
 
Bayern look favourites. Bang them in and win a league title in another country (some record) but no chance of winning Champions League.
