Cristiano Ronaldo (I stay)

Desperately hope we bin him off quickly. He's going to disrupt the start of our season if this drags on.

Agreed. The thing is if we are spending weeks in our pre season camp, working on Ten Hag's way and he has chosen to find himself a new club. If he does not find a club and says I am committed, I struggle to see how he fits in?

We cannot spend 6 pre season games working on a style and Ronaldo comes in and demands to start. If he does not attend pre season, he cannot start the season.

Its as simple as that for me, I dont care how many tantrums he throws then.

That's very interesting, surely that has to be a choice of the manager to play to Ronaldo as well?
Ralf wanted him out in January.
How can the club be in the dark about when he's going to return? He's an employee and should turn up when he's told to. If he refuses I hope he's being fined
He is done here. If he turned up after briefing everywhere that he wanted to leave it would be too embarrassing for him.

Its the same game he did to get out of Juventus. Just decided not to turn up in the middle of the summer, no rumours or nothing. he didn't even have a club lined up. And we won't fine him because he will just use the "family reasons" excuse to buy himself extra time.

Think the media are just milking this saga at this point. Manchester United + Ronaldo + player wants out. What's not to like? Everyone know feck all and are just speculating at this point.

The salary cut thing is proper bullshit. No way the club would cut anyone's salary without it being already agreed while signing the contract. Ronaldo must have known his salary will be cut from next season since like January/Feb when it was obvious these bunch of buffoons we have decided they did not want to play football anymore.

You dont have to worry about ETH regarding this. He will be handling worst when the season starts, such as the inevitable dressing room crisis that the media will use after just one defeat or if the pre season doesnt sound promising. Ronaldo is the least of his worries since he knows he will be leaving this season due to his contract.

We just need to get rid and sooner the better now.

I’m sorry but this guy is not our future and quite simply it’s giving a very bad vibe on what should be an exciting time.

He’s a 38 year old striker who doesn’t fit the system not much else to be said. Fix the defence there is your 20 goal swing without even signing anyone.

He might even start getting injuries plus he’s on ridiculous money.

So Ronaldo doesn't enjoy the 25% paycut in his contract that he signed for, but is willing to take a massive paycut to leave. Jog on then

Don’t really get the fuss about him surely you don’t think he’s been a good signing or will be a key player for you this season? He reminds me of Henry’s last season at Arsenal where he had become a prima donna who would sulk and pout on the pitch whenever someone didn’t pass to him. As much as I loved the man it was blatantly obvious that we would be better off without him and he was still a top player at the time unlike Ronaldo who clearly isnt adding anything apart from goals every now and then.

Let him go and move it’s the best for both parties. Why would you want to keep a 38 year old who is way past his prime disrupting your rebuilding efforts with his antics? Man doesn’t offer enough on the pitch to compensate for the nonsense he will create in the squad. Just say a polite thank you and fk off and move on.

Be pretty interesting if Chelsea distance themselves next. I think he is limited in his options, as are Man Utd in selling him. There is a possibility he ends this season sitting on the bench at Man Utd - like his final season at Juventus.

Ronaldo is a better player now than Henry was in his last season for Arsenal where he could barely even stay fit.

Henry was good enough to be wanted by a Barca team that was going places. Who wants Ronaldo now?

Maybe because he was about a decade younger? If he had the kind of season he did in 06/07 at Ronaldo’s age, I doubt Barca would’ve looked his way.

Ronaldo is good enough for an elite European side. His main problem is age. Let’s see what happens. I’d rather this whole thing was resolved quickly.

Exactly right hes a decade older than Henry was when getting rid of Henry who was a club talisman turned out to be a good move. What does that say about how you should deal with Ronaldo who has been a key part of your dressing room turning toxic and is way past his best?

Elanga up top will score as many non penalty goals as Ronaldo while we will be playing much better football. Can't care less about mr. statistics. His impact last season is really overstated and inflated by all the penalty goals while he contributed absolute ZERO off the ball which stays our problem number 1 for more than 10 years now..

Are you bloody bonkers mate?
You think elanga is putting 18-20 or so goals in next season? Maybe in his total United career he may hit that.

Maybe go and check how many pens he actually took out of those 24 first eh?

Do you really think that?

It think that United did not win one single game without Ronaldo since he arrived here again.
Correct me if i'm wrong.

I'd be pretty pissed off as well, especially if I'd done all I possibly could and others had downed tools then fecked off at the end of the year.
What about when he disappeared from October to February last season? Was he doing all he possibly could when he had 3 non-penalty goals in 15 matches?

He ended the season well but my god was he atrocious for the first half until about March.

Jealous of Kaveh Solhekol, all that wage he's earning to pretend his ITK for skysports when he just uses twitter like everyone else. Only skill he has is that he can talk a lot without saying much.

Dream job really

I watched Seth speak about it, he said ETH wants the whole thing resolved quickly, if he goes he goes quickly, if he stays he works as hard as other players and go by ETH instructions, his antics wouldn't be indulged.

Think that's right. But also won 2/3 before his debut.
The whole team structure changed to "play for Ronaldo" so obviously when Ronaldo wasn't playing the team would lost its shape and everybody looked lost on the pitch.

You can say what you want about Ronaldo but there's no escaping the fact that he was our best player last season and absolutely no one came anywhere near the level expected of a United player. Yeah he had a drought but what about Martial, Rashford, Bruno, Maguire etc, we were pinning all our hopes on an academy product that isn't good enough really.

I don't care if he goes, it would probably give Ten Hag a free hit at next season if he did anyway or might force us to move for someone before the window closes, but either way, if I felt I had done my part last season and the other lads were too busy sulking about their contracts and the manager or whatever it was they were moaning about behind the scenes, I'd be pretty fecked off that it affected me the following season, as would anyone on here.

SAF signed Owen once so I wouldn't put anything past him to be honest

Didn't he want to sign Owen for years? Like when he was at Liverpool? Imagine the reactions if Owen had signed on a free transfer or something back then.

"Cleverley is going to completely transform our midfield when he comes back from injury" vibes.

The sample size is too small, he only missed 5 games (Liverpool, City, Villa, Leicester, Crystal Palace)

United with Ronaldo against those 5: 4 losses + 1 win
United without Ronaldo against those 5: 2 draws + 3 losses

almost no difference..
