Cristiano Ronaldo (I stay)

The second tweet is unacceptable.

No player, I mean none should have such power. How can you not know if a player will turn up to pre season ?

Secondly, I guarantee if he doesn't get the move, will want to start when he has had 0 pre season with the team.

Ten Hag needs to just do his thing, train without him and take a month to integrate him.

He cannot stay. If he's not sold Ten Hag has been undermined before a ball is kicked. How can a club be in the dark about their player's movements and just accept it?

How can the club be in the dark about when he's going to return? He's an employee and should turn up when he's told to. If he refuses I hope he's being fined

Ignore the media. They havent seen him return so they are making up news as the days go by.

The club knows when he is supposed to return, unless he is on indefinite leave due to urgent family matters. In those situations, the club will be in contact with him to understand whats happening.

You dont have to worry about ETH regarding this. He will be handling worst when the season starts, such as the inevitable dressing room crisis that the media will use after just one defeat or if the pre season doesnt sound promising. Ronaldo is the least of his worries since he knows he will be leaving this season due to his contract.

A high profile player refusing to return for preseason is a big deal. Take you head out of the sand.

He should be fined for ‘however how long he is absent’ wages. The club pay him every week and he chooses not to turn up when called? What a narcissistic cnut

He really is a selfish little prick. Hopefully he takes his imbecilic fanboys with him, once in for all.

Didn't the club grant him compassionate leave? The only issue is being uncertain when exactly he will return. Club only cares about the tour.

Elanga up top will score as many non penalty goals as Ronaldo while we will be playing much better football. Can't care less about mr. statistics. His impact last season is really overstated and inflated by all the penalty goals while he contributed absolute ZERO off the ball which stays our problem number 1 for more than 10 years now..

I still don't see a lot of realistic options for him out there. There's nothing in Spain, PSG don't need him, Bayern probably won't want to feck their salary structure and he doesn't fit Nagelsmanns style of football at all. Chelsea won't happen either if they listen to Tuchel. So, what's left? Back to Italy? The way Ronaldo and Mendes have played this, you'd think they have a club that's ready to take him and his wages. But I have no clue who that'd be.

I don't know how your words are twisted when you said this " We were lucky to be in a position to have him join us thanks to the 2nd place finish with Ole and having Champions League."

Then you are changing it to "We signed Ronaldo because we had CL".

Your first post implied as if we have to consider ourselves lucky to be in position to sign Ronaldo.

I didn't explain my thoughts clearly at first. Your initial reply was fine was meant to be banter I get. So when I gave it back with the Glazer-supporter comment you came back with a very awful homophobic response.

The homophobic response was then jumped on and laughed about by several posters. That's what set me off.

I've taken the night and don't care to discuss it any further. I'm over it.

What? Ronaldo is asking to leave, out of the blue right at the start of pre season. Not 2 months ago when he could've and we could've planned better. The day before he's supposed to come for pre season, he says he wants to leave, and then doesn't come to training (whatever the case is). And is gone indefinitely. This is all about Ronaldo always looking out for himself. That's it
Right but we have been planning for DM for how many years already? We still haven’t got one.

This sounds a lot like "I want to watch my mrs shag other men so they catch an STD". You know there's a very good chance Ronaldo isn't the problem and it's got something to do with our entitled bunch of twats instead?

Our entitled bunch did alright without him the year before, not saying I like them but it's fact.

Also even Juve players Inc Chiellini said the team had to be setup to focus only on Ronaldo and it's obvious when he plays.. if it doesn't go through him he strops and throws on field tantrums.

That was homophobic? Ok.

Actually I didn't say anything, I said it's easy to say something stupid like that, like adding a tag "if you don't agree then you are some xyz".

Sorry but not everyone loves Ronaldo so much that they can't see blatant disrespect to the club. It's not even the first time and this has nothing to do with Glazers.

Anyways, your later posts cleared what you meant, so yeah we move on.

The more this drags out, I’d be happy to see the back of him. This doesn’t bode well for the team spirit and unity. I’d rather we have some make shift solution for striker and just have a transition season with some of the other players improving and developing than having Ronaldo stay and just throwing a strop every time a player doesn’t play the ball where he wants it.

If I player has any interest in leaving, it’s time to let them go, ETH needs players fully committed to fight for him and more importantly the team, it may play out better for him to have Ronaldo leave, his ethos is team before individual Ronaldo’s is opposite at this stage of his career, TenHag can have fresher younger legs willing to run and press which would suit his way of playing, if it was a 28 year old Ronnie I’d be gutted but at 38 I’ve no issues with him leaving now, it’s time to freshen up and move on.

And the other players will perceive ETH as weak, just like they did Ralf.

As good as those guys were, they’re not on Ronaldo’s level and don’t share his personal ambition to be seen as the best player of all time. That is his driving force behind all this. Personal glory. He’s not gonna get any of that remaining here for the last few years of his contract. He may never even play CL again if he stays as there’s no guarantee we’ll qualify for it next season.

Also, Del Piero and particularly Buffon were relatively young back then compared to Ronaldo now. So probably saw they had some time to get Juve back to the top. Ronaldo has no time.

He's not even close to be the goat. Stop that nonsense. Messi is closer but neither is.

And del Piero wasn't young for sure. He must have been well over 30, in times where the normal retirement age for footballers was around 35 years old.

Yeah I do not see a real alternative for him either as long as he is not willing to take a pay cut. Newcastle maybe.

Well he has until Friday to find a club or massively apologise to the team and the manager for undermining everything and start preparing for next season on tour. If he doesn’t come on preseason tour I see no way back. We shouldn’t grovel and beg him to come back — let him stay in Portugal until he finds a buyer.
What?
And keep paying him 360k a week to stay there doing nothing?!

Ronaldo has run out of time. No serious top club would take him at his age and after how he acted with United and Juventus. The writing is pretty much at the wall. Brand wise Ronaldo is still mint but he'll cause problems in the dressing room unless he get things his way. That's annoying when the player in question is in his prime but is a huge problem when the player is one foot in his career's grave

Ronaldo is disrupting what we thought was a pivotal summer.

The club once again is putting the money issue ahead of football and then they wonder why the outcome is not great.

ETH must be strong, he is one of the best in the world and he must demand the board to finish off the Ronaldo drama as soon as possible.

His transfer request has not been accepted by the club. So he cant leave unless someone comes in with a astronomical offer or Ronaldo goes on a strike. Ronaldo is very fond of this club, so he wont do something like a strike to worsen his relationship with the club.

The family matter is a real thing, but the media just want to paint it as a fake event. Well, they have created negative articles on Raheem Sterling for just a tattoo, so its not surprising they will twist the family matter as a fake story.
Fond my arse.

Desperately hope we bin him off quickly. He's going to disrupt the start of our season if this drags on.

Don't blame him - Ashley Cole would be crashing his car at such paltry figures
Devils advocate on the salary thing because obviously the numbers are ridiculous for 99.9% of us but I think if I'd done a good job over the past year and was told my salary was being cut by 25% because as a team we didn't meet our goals I'd be pretty upset too (and possibly look for a new job). That being said, there is obviously no defence of it because the numbers even after the cut are crazy and he'd have been well aware of the clause in his contract before signing it.

I can't bring myself to write negative things about Ronaldo when Rashford, Shaw, Maguire, Mctominay and other useless parasites are still employed.

A 37 yo, who has one or two years left as a professional footballer, is the least of our problems.

Has anyone compared him to Di Maria so far? If not, I'm here and planting the first flag.

Came from Real Madrid, stayed for a year, kicked up a fuss and didn't come to pre season training the next season. At least more parallels than FDJ
