Cristiano Ronaldo (I stay)

It's much better to be blowing up now rather than a few months in I suppose.

If he does go, and this is very much not Ten Hag's decision he's got away with one I think, as it'd take a hell of a big personality manager to come into a huge club and kick out the biggest name!
I hope he does go personally and quickly.

The team as a collective would replace him. We scored a lot more goals the season before he came.

Nail on head. I'd like to see a bit of an all rounder coming in, target man who can play, work hard and score some goals.

I have full confidence in ETH personally, although this Ronaldo circus is really not at all what he needs as he's settling into the role.

I can tell you that the "circus" is just what the media is creating and it only affects the fans who read it. This mainly happens because most of the fans just want to read any updates as much as possible, without thinking about whether its true or not.

At the club and manager level, they know whats happening and the reasons so its quite a simple and straightforward affair for them. You have to understand that the player is always in contact with the club as long as he is under contract. So rest assured, the circus only exists in the media.

SO ETH won't constantly get questioned about it until it's resolved?

Similar trend at Juventus.

Juve
14/15 = 72
15/16 = 75
16/17 = 77
17/18 = 86
18/19 = 70
19/20 = 76
20/21 = 77
21/22 = 57

Sorry, but Im not seeing how Ronny made Juve worse? Dybala had 22 goals in 17/18, double his tally for the previous season. The following year he had just 5. And after Ronny left they dropped 20 goals. Juves problem is that Dybala went from 19, 11, 22 to 5, 11, 4.

Man Utd.

14/15 = 62
15/16 = 49
16/17 = 54
17/18 = 68
18/19 = 65
19/20 = 66
20/21 = 73
21/22 = 57

Again, Bruno went from 18 goals in 20/21 to 10(his average). Rashford scored 11 in 20/21 dropped down to 4 in 21/22. Cavan went from 10 to just 2. And we certainly missed some goals from he who shall not be named. In 16/17 Zlatan was our top goal scorer with 17. Following behind him in second place was Mata with just 6. United have had a goal problem for years. In all those years above, not one single player has score 20 or more goals in the PL. The highest total is 18. Shared by Bruno and, you guessed it, Ronny.

Now, Im not saying that tweet is pushing an agenda, but its definitely is pushing an agenda. Theres a lot more going on at both clubs than just "Ronaldo joined".

Still hope he stays to be honest.

There we so few joyful moments last year, and probably the Leeds battering aside, every other moment of joy was Ronaldo related.

However, if we can manage to improve overall if he does go, then of course that has to be the better option.

He will most likely stay. Ignoring the media's dramatic depictions, this is just Ronaldo not convinced with something the club did and he is just looking for options in case it worsens (i am wondering if it is something to do with us contacting Nunez when he is still the main striker). I feel he will stay once he comes back to pre-season and has a talk with ETH.

SO ETH won't constantly get questioned about it until it's resolved?

The media are always questioning the manager on many things. Even if it is not Ronaldo, there will be another thing they will pick on (e.g. De Jong, lack of transfers, Maguire etc, are the players adapting to tactics). Managers like ETH are capable of handling the media, especially with his blunt yet simple stance.

Lets think about how ETH is going to setup the team in the premier league rather than thinking about the media's nonsense. They make their money from clickbait content, not the truth.

Regardless, it's something extra he doesn't need right now. Get rid of him.

The circus for the manager is planning for 2 scenarios.

1 where he is planning for a season with a static 37 year old striker who demands to play 90 mins every week.

1 where he can implement his own style with a fluid attacking system, and little resistance to picking the best starting XI for the job at hand.

It's a farcical situation, and i cannot believe nobody thought this wasn't going to pan out exactly as it has done 12 months ago.

He talks a lot of crap these days but he’s spot on here. Pogba leaving was a massive bonus in getting rid of these circus sagas, get Ronnie situation sorted asap. Look to the future, it doesn’t include a 37 year old striker.

Nkunu signed an extension with Leipzig.
We should have been in for him if Ronaldo was staying or not.
But I suspect the Glazers were afraid that Ronaldo would not want to be a bit player.
Well the dithering in signings has had the effect of him wanting out anyways.

Now we are scrambling.

I thought it would be third too. I'd imagine Ronaldo thought it would be 3rd at worst. So now he's realised he doesn't have the time to hang around. What's to be upset with the player for. We are where we are, and it's better to rebuild anyway.

Signing him was more about him not signing for City and that was mission accomplished for the club who actually then left space for City to sign Haaland instead which is way worse for us.

Bad move all round.

I'm not upset with him leaving. On the contrary, I'm over the moon he's leaving because that's a big problem sorted. I just hope it's resolved very quickly. My issue with your original post was you saying we "cost him a Premier League" We didn't cost him shit. We don't owe him anything. He's not a victim and the club is, and will always be, bigger than him.

Well he has until Friday to find a club or massively apologise to the team and the manager for undermining everything and start preparing for next season on tour. If he doesn’t come on preseason tour I see no way back. We shouldn’t grovel and beg him to come back — let him stay in Portugal until he finds a buyer.

Has junior reported back to U12 training yet? He should have his Playstation taken away for two weeks if not.

Be a fecking disaster if he stayed now. But it is likely because I just don't see who's going to have him. It's a very limited pool.

His transfer request has not been accepted by the club. So he cant leave unless someone comes in with a astronomical offer or Ronaldo goes on a strike. Ronaldo is very fond of this club, so he wont do something like a strike to worsen his relationship with the club.

The family matter is a real thing, but the media just want to paint it as a fake event. Well, they have created negative articles on Raheem Sterling for just a tattoo, so its not surprising they will twist the family matter as a fake story.

TBH this slow slide to shitness is what lead to United giving a half a million a week contract to a 37 year old. Can you see SAF signing a 37 year old Ronaldo on silly money to bolster the treble team or the third CL winning team? Not in a million years.
SAF signed Owen once so I wouldn't put anything past him to be honest

Good riddance. An amicable separation is best for all. We needed to reset so let’s suffer this short term pain, much preferable to this turning into a saga.
We do need a reset and with Pogba and Lingard gone it feels like it's underway, however I'd prefer the players who don't have the right mentality to leave before those that want to win every game

Be careful, I think Jorge Mendes might have a bridge to sell you…
