I hope he stays but him leaving this way does ruin a lot of the goodwill the united fan base had for him.

So it's Bayern, Chelsea or bust really? Not many options for him, not unless he takes a drastic pay cut or moves to a non-champions league team which would defeat the point. AC Milan maybe? Sporting?...genuinely struggling to think of who might want him and can offer him high wages, champions league football and the chance of trophies.

I’m bewildered people are this surprised that he wants to leave. Judging by his mentality and how much he regards himself, he was never going to stick around to play Europa league. The guy is on a quest to be seen as the best player of all-time so for me I already knew he would be leaving and it was just a matter of time until it would be announced. I made sure to be at the last home game of season partly because of this too. I also posted something about this back in May but it got removed

He’s still obviously a good player but he won’t be improving (unlike, theoretically, Welbeck was) and his insistence on being an ever-present would be a hindrance anywhere.

He will be paid -- its a family problem. We cant dock someone's salary for that, all £450k or more.
