Which is why he’s leaving to give himself the chance of a couple more league titles and another CL. At some point the debate ends if he keeps winning stuff and driving teams to trophies.

He could turn up in a Liverpool kit tomorrow and they'd say it's our fault, we're not good enough for him. It's ridiculous, never have I seen a player given so many excuses, Madrid fans would destroy him if he played for Barca and he's way more of a Madrid legend than he is here.

On the up? He was surplus to requirements at United given we had Rooney, RvP, Falcao and Di Maria.

Selling Welbeck to Arsenal is in no way comparable, or a benchmark, to suggest United sell their best players to rivals.

Ronaldo was the club top goal scorer last season and in the PFA team of the year. Welbeck was never either of those nor was he ever the main man at the club.

I'll pick Martial 19/20 when I consider his goals, work rate and and how he facilitated Rashford first half of the season and Fernandes second half of the season yet Ronaldo doesn't realize he would only be a luxury player in a proper team, if ETH wants to build a proper team cut the luxury player out.
Good thing Pogba ran out his contract that was a blessing in disguise for ETH.

Yeh. I'm confused of why people can not entertain the idea that Ronaldo is as frustrated as some of us fans with how United deal with the players in and out so far? He's been reported to want out since January. Maybe he's waiting to see if United is serious to back challenging next season, and he doesn't see it so decide to leave. As many agreed, he doesn't have much time left of his career.

So far what i read is just a bunch of hysterical full of hate posts drowning any non-conforming, albeit highly possible, opinions. Surprisingly, that include some of the usually calming posters. It's truly polemic.

Pogba is gone so all that hatred didn’t have to linger around on its own too long.

What does he want though....for us to sign Haaland and Mbappe?
Clearly the club has a strategy, you can't commit to a club and just a year after you are packing your bags, surely you should have considered the club recent history before signing in the first place right.
I want to see the more ambitious club who would be taking Ronaldo since the problem he has is our lack of ambition, or maybe he's just full of himself and doesn't know his level at the moment.
 
While this particular rumor smells of BS, the sad reality is he would have no problem whatsoever signing for Barcelona if he thought he'd personally get some sort of benefit from it.
 
What's with all commotion? He wants to leave. Let him go. Burn contract and be done. Simple as that. We kept Pupga until his contract was up - was it smart? What did we achieve?
 
He's still quality. Not the same as 4 years ago, but still quality. He'd be incredible for Bayern, I'd back them for the CL if that happens. What I want to happen though is for him to stay and win either of the 2 domestic cups (both would be great) with us.

I think his legacy at the top ends in 2023 though, if he stays. If he goes to Bayern, they'll sustain each other at high levels and he'll legitimately be a presence in the CL even at 40, all the way until 2025.

He was in a fractured dressing room going up against players who are bang average, weak mentality and out for themselves. Little has changed, why would he stay. Im sure Ronaldo will be fine and scratch a few more CL goals for himself somewhere. Cant think of many of this lot who are good enough to find a CL club

He can still get goals but there's more to being a forward, some times with him on its like playing with 10 men and that's not good enough.
Most top clubs would rather have someone younger who excel at the basic stuff like hold up play, link up play and pressing than have Ronaldo lead the line for them. I don't see Bayern taking him or any club of similar statue.

Well I'm happy to see the back of him to be honest, we were better before his arrival, going by what his Juventus teammates said and what allegedly happened in united dressing room massaging his ego isn't good for any dressing room.
Definitely he can get a UCL team but not the kind he think he can get into, he doesn't realize he isn't as good as he use be.
 
Think the best move on the club's part would be to publicly agree to sell him provided a fee was acceptable. If there are no takers, at least the power balance will be more healthy.

I don't care where he's sold to either. Wish him well, best he can hope for is Bayern.
 
Ronaldo is a selfish brat and always has been. This won't change and so won't his great drive and ability to do the most important thing in the game - score bloody goals.

If Ronaldo does in fact leave, and presuming Chelsea are in for him… what do you guys think about a potential swap for Kante?

I realize that that’s an oversimplification and highly unlikely, but what would you guys think? Would you rather take a transfer fee?

I suspect it has to do with the shitty World Cup that is played at the end of the year and not in the middle of the season. Probably ETH told him that he would not be the undisputed starter, regardless of the fact that there is no CL, that the world cup is at the end of the year and it affects a lot, I suppose.

Anyway, get fecked Ronaldo. Yeah, you scored goals, but you made us play worse. That's a fact, as Benítez would say.
