Cristiano Ronaldo (I stay)

I don't know why this keeps getting mentioned. Madrid didn't want the 5 years ago version of Ronaldo, why would they want this one ? when they've just won the biggest club competition in world football ?
I wouldn't completely rule it out, helps Madrid commercially and Ronaldo would have an excellent chance of winning the CL

Agree Ancelotti would be unlikely to go for it though. If I were him, I'd prefer to get one last big, big season out of Benzema.

Don't want to tarnish his legacy by seeing him for another PL club. We'd also be strengthening them, so it makes no sense. I'd rather he sulked with us than strengthen Chelsea.

Madrid are a serious club, any serious club that wants to win the UCL will not take the current version of Ronaldo.

We were in for Nunez even when we expected Ronaldo to be here.
What was our back up plan?
Now we will need two strikers.

Good luck with getting one. Glazers will say no more money....err except for their dividends.

We can speculate.
I think it probably has more to do with the lack of ambition by the board in investing in new players.

As we stand with the players being mentioned, no way are we going to be anywhere near the title.

So for all the PR stunts. Here we are.

I don't really feel like Chelsea is tarnishing his legacy to be honest. Liverpool or City would of hurt more. Chelsea at 38 really isn't going to ruin my memories of him.

Chelsea doesn't make a lot of sense though. They aren't getting anywhere close to the title with Liverpool and City. They might even face tough competition from Spurs for the 3rd position.

While they might have an outside chance of winning the CL, the chances are slim at best.

Bayern makes the most sense, if Lewandowski ends up leaving and Ronaldo is willing to take a pay cut. They get a good forward for a season or two, and he can win another league and have a good chance of winning the CL.

He’s forcing himself out of the club. You don’t think that’s tarnishing his legacy?

I think it's more about his goal scoring record than actually winning it.

But really though I think he'll end up staying and calls all of these bullshit stories.

On the one hand, one of THE main reasons we fell way off the pace last season after being top of the league at one point was due to an absurd number of terrible draws we had against opponents we dominated. We would often have like 80% possession against vastly inferior teams, create a bunch of clear chances, and then Werner/Pulisic/Lukaku/Mount etc would scuff them. Ronaldo would absolutely feast in those same situations.

But on the other hand, imagining Ronaldo in a Chelsea shirt casually jogging around and not pressing against the other big clubs we’ll be playing is a huge turnoff.

Don‘t know how I’d feel about this if it happened.

Madrid have been pretty good a getting shot of players at the right time recently.

Ramos, Ronaldo, Varane etc
They don't have time for nostalgia and memories, Raul, Casillas etc.

They want to win every season and every season they don't win the CL is considered a failure. If a player isn't pulling his weight he's gone, if a player wants too much money he's gone. There's no way they'll take Ronaldo back.

I think PSG need to go full Disneyland and step up here. Let's see Ronaldo and Messi together, with Neymar going to Chelsea.

Let him off to Chelsea and look for one of their promising youths in return like Broja. Would even take a Ruben Loftus Cheek or CHO. Ronaldo will have the same effect there as he did at Juve and United so we might engineer our way into the CL spots.

When you put it like that I guess you're right, but it's weird, I just don't really care about this move. I feel like it's better for us that he goes even though I love him.

He makes teams worse nowadays without his old explosiveness, we should openly try and get a player in return or a fee. The wages off the books will free up transfer funds.

Not saying i want Ronaldo but we're probably the best option for him CL wise unless Barca step in for him. City and Liverpool won't go for him, nor will Real, Bayern or PSG. So realistically who in Europe is left that has a better shot than us? We seem to be fantastic in cup competitions under Tuchel reaching every single final he's had available to him

This poem is rubbish :wenger:

Yeah you're mad, I'd rather Ronaldo at Chelsea than Neymar. Why would you want to strengthen a rival for top 4 like that ? So Ronaldo can stay looking like a knight in shining armour to you ?

It's such a cowardly move not to show up. Despicable. All that bullshit about loving the club, what a maggot. I find it barely believable that he didn't communicate this with the club before leaving, but it's not like we didn't see this at Juventus last season. I don't know how much it actually happens, but I'd be fining this fecker every day he doesn't show and I'd not be letting him go anywhere until the end of the window when we've got in the players we need.

I'd take Kante swap deal. De Jong, Kante and Eriksen would be a pretty amazing midfield. Fred could easily cover and rest Kante to keep him fresh.
