I'd say that's a good bet to make. Ronaldo at Chelsea with Tuchel will become a tremendous flop, Chelsea is actually my preferred location, we'd have more of a chance at top 4 because of that.
Another positive would be we'd get a decent transfer fee for him since it's Chelsea.

I don't know why this keeps getting mentioned. Madrid didn't want the 5 years ago version of Ronaldo, why would they want this one ? when they've just won the biggest club competition in world football ?
I think he will go to Bayern. Im happy for a fresh start without him. I think things will eventually pick up for everybody.

He's 37, it's fair that he wants to be in the CL and we've not actually completed a signing prior to the pre-season, so he probably can't be bothered to gamble.

He’s still also under contract to United so we won’t be selling him (yes selling him) to Chelsea or a PL rival. We have never done that and never will.

Let's hope he is not going to Chelsea. Would much preferred him going to Bayern, a league he never done before, and would be fine end to his career winning something different there.
Hope he goes to Chelsea and bring his ego and circus there together as well. He’s not 28 years old anymore, we have nothing to worry about if we are competing against a side with him in it for top 4 next season

Don’t think he cares anymore. Yes he has high standards and yes we can do with his professionalism and goals, no doubt. But his latest move seems all about cementing his own legacy, not helping United back to the top. This is not a black or white situation and I can understand his perspective of not wanting to waste the remaining autumn of his career. The timing of the leak is obviously self-serving and clearly resulting from Mendes drumming up some sort of interest from Bayern and or Chelsea. Would very much like to just nip the situation in the bud and not let it turn into another distraction. If he wants to go, let him go. We may be average again this year but we can do without a sulking Ronaldo. It’s better for us long term.
