Cristiano Ronaldo (I stay)

With every passing second that the Aubameyang deal doesn't happen I believe that a run at Ronaldo becomes more and more likely.

Still think we're in for some form of eleventh hour drama.

What is the move for him next year if he couldn’t find a club this year - probably MLS?

There would be plenty of suitors but Ronaldo, the narcissist, is probably demanding 400k + per week.

Not the MLS he still has the rape charge there I think. He'd get arrested and have go to court once he steps on US soil. That's what I read couple months ago. Don't know if there's anything new.
 
Hopefully Chelsea panic into taking him after tonight.

I thought those charges were dismissed

If they haven't been it pretty much explains why he hasn't gone to the MLS already

That's the only place where he'll get paid what he thinks he's worth

The Champions League is less important to him than getting paid (which is why he hasn't moved to Sporting or Napoli or Athletico or Marseille or a host of other clubs he's been linked to when it became painfully obvious that the clubs he thought would want him, actually want nothing to do with him)

How much of a transfer fee could we request from Chelsea? 15m? It would actually help finance one more player, especially if we also sell Garner and Bissaka.

What's your explanation for why he's seeking a move at all, then? He's on 600k a week!
 
Surely Chelsea need some firepower and he’s gettable?!

Going to Chelsea would be another mistake from him. They have CL football but that’s it as I’m not sure they’re better than the current United side being molded by ETH that could yet turn out very promising. He’ll go there and they’ll continue to struggle and probably finish outside of the top 4 (something I predicted before the season) and everyone will say that people were right that he takes teams backwards.

For his sake, it’s either stay at United or go abroad - just that the level of team he desired simply isn’t in the market for him.

United are currently seemingly the biggest team he can play for unless he’s willing to go to a club like Napoli in an easier league where the pressure will be less.

I am willing to bet my house next year he comes to Sporting. His contact is up and he will be 38 going on 39.

He will then play for Sporting until 42 and retire after the 2026 WC in the states.

Put money on it.

He has this year plus 1 more optional.
 
Why the feck doesn't he want to stay and give it a go with this team. The club is clearly showing ambition by bringing in quality players. One window doesn't define the rebuild project and I'm sure the next window we'll get in even more quality. It's not like the club is sitting on their hands and letting Magure, Shaw et-al stink up the place.
Has a chance to evolve his game as well in a high press team. He certainly has the stamina and fitness required for the role so it should be an easy sell for him.

Has a chance to be part of another great United side in the making and Instead he's choosing to feck off to god knows what team where he may not get that perfect end to his career.
