Cristiano Ronaldo (I stay)

If he wants out, agree a mutual contract termination. But it appears he is not willing to risk not getting the money.

Bringing him back was a terrible decision. I was unhappy with it at the time, had no idea it would turn out this rotten.

Because ETH might feel its better for the team/club if he isn't around... Thus paying a portion of his wage (say 100k a week) is a worthwhile loss
He has one more year. Just terminate his contract if he brings negativity at the club. Loaning out him and paying his wages, even if it is small part, is nonsens.

Why the feck would we pay his wages to play for another club? If he wants to move so badly he should lower his wage. It's not our fault no one wants him

What an absurd destination if he goes. Napoli can maybe make it to final 16, and thats it. Its a bit of a shame that Ronaldos ultimate priority seems to be protecting his stats over contributing in a team.

Because it is cheaper than terminating his contract.

Yeah, but he is pushing for a move and he still has his value.
Only question here should be how high fee we can get. Letting him for free is stupid but letting him go AND pay part of his wages would be absolutely insane business.

Agree - he’s a greedy prick but I can see as subsidising his wages if it means he’s out of the club. Absolute ridiculous decision signing him in the first place. An Ed Woodward special.

Fact no one good wants him speaks volumes. Would love if he took a wage cut and went back to Sporting, never happening though

Moving to Napoli or Sporting just to increase his CL goals count…so small time:lol:

Ronaldo doesn't want to be a bench player for his reputation. He'll never accept being a squad player. If Ten Hag wanted him as a starter or key player I guarantee it'd be a different situation

Don’t tell me you are shocked by that discovery?

I don't give a shit what anyone says, the only reason we would subsidise his wages is because we also want rid.

Surely letting him leave by mutual consent is best for everyone but our sponsors, ten hag clearly has already had enough of the drama around ronaldo and I hope those above him ain't thinking we loan ronaldo out this season to a ucl team and then hope we qualify for ucl next season and they re sign ronaldo and force this past it icon on ten hag because of the sponsorship money he brings

Really hope we can move him on, seems to have become all about him and not the team.

Too expensive as a bench option and ETH clearly doesn't fancy him leading the line

There must still be a chance, ETH seemed non comital when asked if he was staying at the weekend, and you'd think the club or Ronaldo would have put something out by now if they were absolutely sure he wasn't leaving.

Yes. Let him go for free.
ASAP
There's a number of British players in the team that hate Ronaldo. H being one of them. Most of them have since been sidelined and shown up for having a weak mentality.

I'd take these dressing room leaks with a pinch of salt.

At this point I'd be happy for the club to pay him to leave and do the honour of packing his bags for him before sending him on his way to whatever club is willing to take on his baggage. His energy and influence around the club is toxic. It's always taking away the focus from the team and manager. He revels in the drama and the need to be the centre of attention whether good or bad, and needs to make his presence known whether it's on the field or off it. On the pitch if he starts he starts, throwing his arms in the air, ordering wingers to go out wide so they can service him or laughing after we get pounded by Brighton last season 4-0, as if he to distance himself from the rest of the team or when being on the bench, making unnecessarily narcissistic gestures like pretending to be united's biggest cheerleader clapping like a seal, or taking his shirt off to show off his physique to send a subtle message to his fans to show how dedicated and hard working is yet when he is brought on isn't even capable of pressing. Or running to pundits in pre build up to the game to get his face shown on camera while refusing to actually speak to said pundits.

We don't need a striker who is a media whore who treats the club like a b level kim Kardashian reality show. At 38 year old he should be mature enough to keep his head down, be a mentor and role model to the younger players instead of going home after starting in preseason after coming back from a strike on ''family grounds'. Keep his mouth shut and not be teasing people about a tell all reveal interview like he's a big brother celeb coming out with a bombshell exclusive for Heat magazine,, tell his agent to keep the leaks under wrap, and not undermine the club and manager as if he's more important.

Didnt Ruben Amorim (their coach) threaten to quit if he joined?
No idea but feck him, I don’t care if he quits
(I know it’s not happening anyway and don’t think I really want it to for their sake, and I’m just kidding about Amorim @SportingCP96 don’t kill me, liked him at Benfica, often did a job for me in football manager, great young coach)

You were pretty excited about it from what I recall?
I wasn't - but managed to convince myself otherwise. The things I was wary of did happen though. Everything had to go through him, his teammates all dipped in form, and the club became Ronnie and the rest

People often assume that it must be some major falling out, but it could just be something as simple as him being a bit of a self pitying dick who keeps whinging to people and they’ve had enough of it. We’ve all worked with people like that, they’re a massive buzz kill…:nervous:

What an embarrassing summer for Ronnie. Whoring himself all over Europe, with seemingly no one seriously interested in taking him. Not the end to his top level career he expected. His ego must have taken a proper beating.

Just a shame we’re going to end up being stuck with him for another season. He’s the antis to everything ETH is trying to build and will be a distraction all season.
