Really feel sorry for ETH, he's going to end up being the manager that has to deal with the declining influence of Ronaldo.

He’s one of the GOATs in the sport, but at 37 pushing 38 he’s obviously not the force that he was in his prime. He has shown that he can still do it at the highest level with >20 goals in the last season for a Man Utd team in free fall, yet has to have the team built around him. Because of that, very few managers would jump at the chance to sign him.
I do feel bad for the guy.

If i was Ten Hag i'd tell them to pay him out of his contract, Id rather go into the season with Martial and Steve Mclaren as our strikers than Ronaldo at this point

Did you not see the video where the fan asks him about Ronaldo coming to the bridge and he says “I will not tell you?” If he wouldn’t flat out deny it then means there’s more to it.
IMO Ronaldo probably has an offer from Chelsea but is holding out to see if there are more options as the window progresses (for example; if things change with Bayern with Lewa’s departure).

Yeah but we only get a percentage of that money - some who bought a shirt would have still bought one just with another name on the back - and he only signs once. Not all those people are going to buy a shirt again this year.

1) I disagree that all of them would have bought a shirt anyway. He signed August 31 when the season was underway and then there was a wave of shirts being sold. It's directly because he rejoined.
2) He's top seller again so far this season even with the question mark over his head. And you say he signs once, but this summer will be the "once" he signs for Chelsea, so my point stands. The second he signs, they'll sell shit loads of Ronaldo 7 Chelsea shirts.
Don't think any serious prem team would want to sign him and risk upsetting the balance of their team/wages.
I never said all - I said some. And again, the club only get a small percentage for every shirt sold.
It's not just shirts directly though. Selling more merchandise gets them better deals and more money anyway.

What other deals? Unless someone can tell me otherwise we haven’t announced a single sponsor since he was here. And stopping him from going to a rival due to the prestige and embarrassment of them having a semi-washed up Ronaldo is precisely the shit decision that got us into this mess. ETH will not want an unhappy Ronaldo anywhere near the squad - he needs the team to fully buy-in to him as quickly as possible - it’s time the club put football first.

And generally there's deals in place, like if United make Adidas a certain amount of money, United get pay outs or more money the next season and things like that. Not to mention TV companies will play our matches more around the world. There's more clamor to watch Ronaldo play etc. It's all things Chelsea would then benefit from. I'm sure someone else or some research on it will enlighten you.
I think it was @troylocker who posted a detailed breakdown of sponsorship over the last few years. There's hardly been any difference since Ronaldo joined.
