Gavaskar talking complete nonsense. Talha had to go for it because a single would've kept him on strike for the last over.

Retards. Why did afridi take the run? Dumbass

Afridi actually crossed and got himself off strike.

What a fecking idiot.

feck sakes. What a match though!

Pakistan throwed it away many a times but still managed to win.

Good work shahid, I never doubted you!

Great game.

Ashwin's tactics awful. Why would you let a player know exactly what youre gonna bowl in the last over? That's a line to contain. Utterly idiotic.

You're basically saying "You can hit it but if you don't hit it, we'll get you out.."

That is not the right way to think in the last over of a match ffs.

The one weekend United aren't playing and I still feel like crap.

Am I imagining things or did Afridi mishit both of the hits?

Either ways, neither team played particularly well IMO. India was ridiculous with batting and Pakistan were being Pakistan with their batting. Both of them look under prepared for 2015 WC.

I still think Kohli's decision to hand Bhuvi the 2nd last over was idiotic.

The match was already lost no matter what he did. We just got some false hope thanks to the tailenders deciding to slog for some reason.

He did. Not clean hits. Boundaries have been brought in quite a way though. Mindless

I thought the 2nd one was mishit, but couldn't really tell clearly.

Pakistan need to solve this pathetic habit of throwing wickets away. This game should've been a comfortable win.

This. As was not getting a couple of part time spin overs in the middle, which reduced his tactical options. Ideally I'd have had one Mishra over for the end.

yes, that is one thing I think he did very badly. 2-3 overs of part-time spin would've helped massively.

Kohli is such a twat...first unlikeable Indian captain in a long long time after the reigns of dhoni and ganguly.

That's harsh.

Poor guy scored 70 and took two wickets.

He drops 40% of all catches( was a stat earlier). I thought it was bad but not this bad and every three matches he will run someone out. His runs dont compensate for that, would like maqsood promoted to 3 with akmal at four where hopefully someone will pound some commonsense in his skull.

Kohli definitely needs to tone down his external show of aggression if he has aspirations to captain India.

Don't see it too often these days, but credit to Stokes for walking. Although I expect he will be told not to do that in the future.

Why do we keep persisting with Luke Wright? He may be an excellent player in limited overs outside internationals, but he's 29 in a few days, been around the one day and T20 teams for years and consistently bottles it. Even when there's little pressure on him.

By contrast, I must say Bopara has improved somehwat this past year, his batting and bowling much more consistent. A fairly reliable run scorer now, still gets undeserved criticism in some places but given he regularly comes in with England collapsing he's one of the few who deserves credit. Hopefully he'll see England out to a win here too.

Not sure Stokes justifies his place in this team either if he's playing effectively as a specialist batsmen. Nowhere near consistent enough with the bat to have him in the side at 5.

I don't rate Bopara at all, and I can't see how he's improved either.

His average is 41 for the past year, and he's scoring runs quicker, but thats because of where he is batting. He's got 5 not outs, and his high score of 101 not out against Ireland distorts that.

In fact, its pretty much a case of him filling his boots against shit attacks, against Australia he averaged 25 over 2 series with a strike rate of 80 batting at 7.

And he's still an absolute bottle job. He's had 101 chances to do something in this team, and he's still not earning his place.

But I agree on Stokes, makes no sense batting him at 5 and him bowling 2 overs in 2 games.

Edit: Good knock from him today though, but I'm still expecting him to throw it all away.

The nature of batting where he does means he'll have a lower average too though, you can't discount him scorign quicker for that and then ignore that batting so low means he has to go for it and lose his wicket cheaper than those above him. I'm willing to bet his average of 25 against Australia probably stands up to most in that team anyway, but his batting very good in the champions trophy.

Not too mention he's regularly a useful, economic bowling option.

Not too mention his bowling has been extremely economical over the last year. Particularly important given the amount of games that have been lost from dreadful bowling from strong positions.

I think, actually, it's going to positively affect his average because there's a far greater chance of not out's than if batting higher up the order.

He had a decent champions trophy, but then absolutely bottled it in the final when England should have won. I guess he's getting consistent starts, which is something, but they rarely are converted to game changing scores and he's far more likely to chuck it away than he is to make pay.

Compare it to Buttler, for example, who makes starts less frequently, but when he gets in he makes it count.

His bowling's a bit of an enigma for me, if he's bowling a couple of overs here and there like he has this series then I'm not sure he's worth the pick. Especially when you're playing a team with 9 bowling options (although I don't think they see Wright as a bowling option), but yeah I'd be happy to see him bat at 8 I guess.

Thoughts on Parry? Got a huge soft spot for him, as he's put in some fantastic performances for Lancs, in recent years, and I was confident he'd perform on this surface. I think he'd be total cannon fodder against international batsmen on pitches that don't offer much, though.

Anyone see what happened to Abdur Rehman? Feel sorry for him but it was hilarious:lol:
