My most unpopular opinions relative to this threads are that I think Vaughan is a great commentator, and KL Rahul is a good test batterwe also feel the same.

I would give a young, raw player an opportunity rather than keep playing an inconsistent player. He is the worst Indian bowler among the bowlers there have been over the past few years. He definitely has support either from senior players or from the upper echelon of govt/selectors.I think a lot of the players are either too raw or injured. Krishna is an example.
He's a good test batter but not effective. so you are right and you are wrong. In my opinion. He's a huge talent.. his brains is like Rashford (unpopular opinion as well)My most unpopular opinions relative to this threads are that I think Vaughan is a great commentator, and KL Rahul is a good test batter

Senior meaning just one - Virat Kohli.Bingo
I think he gets moved around a lot and is the first sacrificial lamb. In England away he was fantastic opening. His defensive game allows the ball to get older and brings our middle order into play. He's a good test batter but not effective. so you are right and you are wrong. In my opinion. Yep that's the one. Better if Kohli and Sharma walk away next home season. Let the rebuild begin. Gambhir might not survive if we dont win this series. harsh but I dont think he's suited for the job.Senior meaning just one - Virat Kohli.
Ideally he should be given a role of no.3 in Tests, and push that Prince Charming to #4. Find a different #5 than what we have right now and let Pant be a #6. if they have a better #7 (Washington e.g.) then Pant #6 if there's none than Pant to #5.I think he gets moved around a lot and is the first sacrificial lamb. He was fantastic in the middle order at home v australia few years back. He is great at adapting but he should be treated like a top order player and they keep moving him to 6.
I expect a good series for him here. Unfortunately I think they will move him to 6 here again despite him looking like our best bet for a plodder in the top 3
Agreed on all three. Sharma needs to go. Kohli definitely needs to go. And Gambhir isn’t good enough for the coaching role.Yep that's the one. Better if Kohli and Sharma walk away next home season. that's the way it should go. Give him a full Test cycle , every test. dont count on him for T20. And let him get established.
yeah he won't and that's one of the problems to prep for his eventual successor.Agreed.
Our best lineup for the next test actually looks a lot like what you wrote. But Virat not gonna move to 5.
I'd still say this is 50-50 game. lead is good but I dont trust our batters.last wicket hung around far too long but someone was going to eventually. 50 lead is excellent..
Jaiswal needs to put his head down. Too often, in his short career, for an opener he thinks the way to win is to break the back of a small target.I'd still say this is 50-50 game. lead is good but I dont trust our batters.
Yeah, he needs to get greedy to just score runs. I think he’s good enough to do so.Jaiswal needs to put his head down. Too often, in his short career, for an opener he thinks the way to win is to break the back of a small target.
That doesn’t work so well away. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s thinking ‘right I get a 60 here and that’s the game’. He definitely has the talent to do it but on average he’d be better off playing the pitch
We need someone like that at the top to fight back. It shouldn't be on him to curtail his natural game because our overpaid legendary middle order can't do crap. Every time our openers fail, our middle order fails too.Jaiswal needs to put his head down. Let's not forget that one of India's best test players played up top with a similar attitude and he has been the only batsman to score 300 (twice).
Can’t remember Australia going down 1-0 in a series at home..This is an insane turnaround. Body blow for Australia
2018 BGT, 2003-04 BGT immediately come to mindCan’t remember Australia going down 1-0 in a series at home..
Amazing turnaround considering India’s first innings. This is also some sold old school opening batting as well. This is an insane turnaround. Body blow for Australia
Almost there...Hitting bed tonight after a beer to many. Hoping to catch an evening session of India building a 200+ lead
Nothing better than Aussie Comms at home behind the game. Music to my ears.
How has the pitch improved so suddenly? It’s quite a turnaround from both first innings.
I genuinely don’t understand how he gets into the team in any format, especially when there are so many good young talents around him.
Many of the commentators on Australian broadcasters aren’t Aussie. It’s a really good, unbiased bunch. Highlights being Hussey, Isa Guha, Gilly, and a few others. How does Australian cricket commentary even work if they're getting battered at home? Do they just sit in silence?
It feels like the entire setup is modelled for Australia battering teams, all the ultra confident banter and jokes. It must all completely break down if it's Australia getting pummeled
Nice one India!

Except then you get dickheads like Vaughn talking absolute shit about how the Aussie’s are complacent and not trying…Many of the commentators on Australian broadcasters aren’t Aussie. It’s a really good, unbiased bunch. Highlights being Hussey, Isa Guha, Gilly, and a few others.

The Australian cricket team is the highest pressure environment in Australian sport. This is our only summer sport and we’re pretty bloody good at it along with holding arguably the goats of batting and bowling. There is always pressure.
Maybe when you consider batting averages of 40 to be world class you might hold that opinion but unless you’re 50+ (Gilchrist the exception) you don’t get a sniff in Aussie cricket folk-law
