Cricket

You've bitten.

India should stick to kabaddi.
Forget Cricket!

I've not bitten. I'm smitten. SE Asian girls are more beautiful. Especially the northern Girls. Anyway, I still consider India, Pakistan and Bangladesh as one Nation.

I also consider those 3 countries plus Sri Lanka as one nation, really wish it was and that 1947 could have been resisted.

Have you watched 'The Last Viceroy'? I thought it was a accurate depiction of what happened, whereby Jinnah was seduced and ultimately betrayed by Britain, so that 'divide and conquer' continued to play to their advantage after they left. And like lemmings, the region has bickered over manipulations ever since.

Tragic.

Yes, I also have a soft spot for Sri Lanka.

Kumar Sangakara would be amongst my top 6 cricketers ever.

India and Pakistan should just do it for Cricketing purposes anyways. Fab 4 of Indian batting plus Pakistan's Wasim and Waqar would've stopped the Aussie juggernaut at least.

  1. Anwar

  5. Inzamam
  6. Moin Khan
  7. Wasim
  8. Mushtaq
  9. Waqar
  10. Akhtar
  11. Kumble

Something like this would be amazing for late 90s/early 2000s.

You guys were much better than us in 90's. Could be wrong but I don't think that peak Akthar ever coexisted with peak Akram and Waqar so I'd drop Akthar and bring Srinath. Apart from that spot on team.

Yeah, we really should have dominated the 90s but due to ego issues and match fixing it wasnt to be . Yeah, fair enough I wanted akhtar for his raw pace but srinath is a good choice too.

You really should've. From what I've read I think the likes of Wasim etc were deeply involved, they're very lucky that their reputations are still intact.

Yeah, I think aamir sohail was kicked out of the team due to him wanting to squeal on them as well.

Akhand Bharat :D

My argument is we are one people. We were forced/cornered to separate by the British, and a small band of ideological politicians at the time. I do not hold a position against the partition of India on religious or ideological grounds, unlike some nationalists subscribe.

Anyway, we're going off topic.

Pakistan cricket shadow its politics. It's a shame. They've produced some greats.

Change Akhtar for Imran. Unfortunately, India or Pakistan have never really produced a real class wicket keeper until MS.

Anyway, I'm with Dilip Vengsarkar bhai on Thursday. He's touring UK with a group of young cricketers he's coaching.

I'm shocked at the level of rivalry between India and Pakistan amongst the general population. Even on this board, posters I would regard as generally the most intelligent percentage of the population. I meet a lot of cricketers and have personal friends from both India and Pakistan. The level of friendship amongst themselves is like brothers. They even stay in each other's houses during seasons.

PS: Indian posters not happy with Sammsky trolling and being a WUM just remember Bangladesh also plays cricket and are an inferior team in terms of quality - there will be plenty days you can get do likewise. Same goes for Pakistani fans having fun at our expense. It's a lot more fun than reporting posts.

Reporting posts are for rules violations only.

Good to know trolling and wumming is allowed and seemingly even encouraged. Fun times ahead!

You know exactly what I mean. I'm not encouraging anyone break rules. You can have fun without being abusive or derailing threads.

Anyway, you're not far off being banned. I advice you to be particularly careful what sort of fun you desire.

You quite literally encouraged posters to troll and wum in the post I quoted!

Anyway, the poster in question succeeded in derailing his thread. So, well done to him I guess. It's a shame Bangladesh do such a good job of trolling themselves though. Missed opportunities alas!

Have a question for India cricket fans and international team fans in general:

What did you all make of the Star India 'Mouka Muaka' ads from a few years ago?

Sri Lanka just put one of the most half assed performances ever in a test match I've ever seen. Seriously the lack of effort was pathetic.

I've never seen a Pakistani till I came to US in 2005. I'm from Tamil Nadu and the only exposure to Pakistan I've had was they snatched Kashmir and ISI agents were ready to filter into India with AIDS infested blood in syringes to stick it into random people. Majority of South Indians haven't met a Pakistani in their life. I've had Pakistani roommates for a couple of years and our favorite pastime is to watch 'Vijayakanth' movies where he obliterates ISI agents even though he's a fisherman.

He's been bowling well and decent with the bat, why not give him a chance?

This.

He's a decent talent, I'd have preferred to give Kuldeep a chance though. He'd have destroyed this lineup.
