Cricket

Is Crane very highly rated, then? He's clearly not been picked on his career record in senior cricket.

Well he is only 20 odd, had a terrific winter in Australia where he took a bucket load of wickets in Grade Cricket under the tutelage of Stuart MacGill and ended up playing for NSW (first foreign player since Imran Khan apparently ). Played in the North vs. South games in Abu Dhabi and impressed there too and I think it makes sense to bring him in and around the team as he develops.

That would explain it.

A remarkably low score, for just three down.

It's either genius in judging the pitch as horrendous and just scraping what can be managed, or thoroughly idiotic.

Completely unnecessary from Roy there but it's T20 cricket and he's set up the rest of the order

I mean it's pretty actually.

They're just all playing County Cricket on Kolpak deals thanks to transformation policies.

True, just weird to see them rocking up with loads of bits and pieces all-rounders.

EDIT:
Also strange to see them field so abjectly.

Where was this Bairstow vs Pakistan

Bairstow did alright against Pakistan plus they have a much better attack than whatever SA are serving up right now.

I'd also back England to chase down almost any score these days in ODI or T20.

Yeah, this team itself is shite.

The key issue is they have to find a way to identify and nurture talent in the townships and not rely on private schools alone to provide players.

When the likes of AB, Faf and Amla retire I can't help but worry that South African cricket might go into terminal decline. I'm not sure there's a host of players beyond Quinton De Kock and Rabada who will win matches on the international stage.

How many English cricketers will be looking for Irish grandparents?

That would be an interesting point. Problem will be though that for many cricketers it might not be monetarily beneficial to play for Ireland over a county side.

Brilliant, brilliant news.

Ireland was really stagnating as a result of non test status, this will help them. Afghanistans rise has been incredible.

I think they're in big trouble, South Africa A got an absolute shellacking at the hands of 2nd string Sussex side last week.

D'aww, Henry Blofeld is retiring :( Test cricket won't be the same again for me.

Wonder if Eoin Morgan will be tempted to swap back too seeing as he swapped to play Test Cricket in the first place.

Doubt he will until after the 2019 World Cup or gets dropped from the ODI team, and then he surely would have to wait 5 years to change nationality again?

Jason Roy just trying to outdo himself each passing game in terms of doing remarkably stupid things.

Okay. I am really, really curious to know why Morris is so angry with livingstone.

Nah, that's a rubbish decision by the Third Umpire for me.

They shouldn't be allowed to watch these decisions in slow motion, it's scientifically proven that it makes things look more deliberate, it's quicker to turn like that than do a full 180.
