Cricket:India's tour of England 2011

Wow Gower and Botham have been debating for almost the last 15 minutes as to why Morgan walked off.

Poor from England. We pretty much have only 1 bowler. Should've scored much faster.

Praveen has bowled some very good deliveries at times but he seems to be jogging up to bowl everytime, wonder if he could give an extra 10% and put in more effort?

If only we had Zaheer fit now. *Sigh*

It'll be amusing if Morgan comes out and says he nicked it.

Right on cue, from cricinfo.

It now emerges that Morgan revealed that he thought he had edged it. So there you go, technology could not spot it.

How ridiculous is that?

I thought this Indian side was supposed to be good

Heads dropping out there.

500 ish from us, and with alot of overs to be made up on the sunny days to come the Indians need 350+ or they are in trouble :).

Started slowly, gone aggressive since lunch (as has the rest of the side tbh), they realise they were going too slowly to have a strong lead with enough time to worry India.

We're in a very good position ATM.

Spanked. Bhajji's figures indicate he's been really poor. Not watching the game myself so not sure exactly how bad he's been. If India lose this one I wouldnt mind seeing him being replaced for the next one.

Strauss starting to contemplate declaring, he should wait for KP to get dismissed IMO.

That said at this point he might as well stick with it and get them to spank it whenever possible.

I am overly worried. We always start poorly in away series. But now it is upto our batting to play our something like 1.5 days and then we can draw this test.

If it stays sunny tomorrow then no excuse if india dont get close to the target but its all about the overhead conditions

This drs ruling is pretty confusing, when dhoni got kp, i am pretty sure there has to be proof to overturn the decision and i dont think there was so how could it be overturned. Correct me if am wrong.

Then hotspot picked up nothing for morgan wicket, but he was pretty sure he hit it, is hotspot 100% right. BTW botham has pissed me off with his commentating today.

Has anyone noticed the Indians go quiet in this thread?

Pleasing.

Hardly. We've been getting battered all day and generally all of them has been posting in this thread. Amusing to see the English getting cocky after the second day though.

End of an excellent day for England, very good innings from KP & Prior played well. England will have to bowl well to get India out, think this might end in a draw unless there is a SL type collapse.

England are the best team in the world, not bad for a nation that's interested in other sports such as football and darts.

Regarding the first incident, KP appealed the decision because he believed he hadn't touched the ball. This was borne out by the absence of a "hotspot" on the replay.

On the Morgan one, I suspect he claims he thought he'd hit the ball out of sheer embarrassment because he realises he should have appealed!

Seriously. We're all right here.

We'll draw this. I don't think they'll bowl us out twice in 2 days.

We should draw. Tremlett looked more threatening than Anderson so far.

England are not number one in the test rankings. Hence clearly not the best.

England are not the world champions in one day cricket. Hence clearly not the best.

I wonder which team is both of those things. :)

It is pretty bad for a nation that started the sport in the first place.

If you want to go down that route then we started the majority of sports going, so it's not really a fair claim, if we spent all our time getting to the top of our invented sports then we would have no time to do anything else.

You've clearly not seen Phil 'The Power' Taylor.

In other news I had a drink with James Wade last week, true story.

But..but they won the T20 World Cup :smirk:
