Cricket:India's tour of England 2011

If I was Dravid, I'd be tempted to get out and get some rest.

Why didn't Sachin offer to open? Insane they've asked Dravid to do this...

Or Laxman, who has done it before.

I'm utterly confused at that decision after the review, shame for Dravid but he did make a couple of close calls vs Swann in this second innings.

Fantastic player though, reminds me of Collingwood in the sense that when the chips are down, he's got the bollocks to try and fight back.

Why didn't they show the side view?

It looked like a slight edge from the front view but Dravid was unfortunate if they gave it for that.

Hot-spot is confusing in the sense that in this instance it shows a white mark on the bat before the ball hit, but when the ball 'hits' it does slightly intensify.

I'm still quite confused over this.

The only difference being one's a great, whereas the other was a decent county cricketer. He reminds me of Steve Waugh, Javed Miandad et al, players you'd want to bat for your life.

BCCI finally have something to focus on to distract from the 3-0 or 4-0.

That Dravid decision needs to be explained to me. Surely benefit of the doubt has to go to the batsman.

Tendulkar should have been out but not one player realised it

EDIT

Dravid admitted he got a little bit of a nick on it, so case closed I reckon.

I would hardly call Collingwood a 'decent county cricketer', fair enough he was never as good as Dravid but he had a solid international career with some decent performances and on occasions to get England out of trouble at times.

Like those players, he isn't as good as the likes of Sachin, Lara etc who have the combination of technique and ability to dominate. The greatest always have that. Dravid is in the next best bracket, though. Great player.

Missed all of this match so far... I see nothing's changed though. Drubbing.

Hardly. If the umpire's going to over rule hot spot then that opens up a whole new can of worms.

Dravid edged it and has no complaints over the decision. Umpire Davis also had the benefit of HD and sound and you could see a diversion clearly. Hotspot isn't the most conclusive of measures either way.

Hardly. If the umpire's going to over rule hot spot then that opens up a whole new can of worms.

Umpires overrule hotspot regularly, Paul Reifel did it twice in one game, leading to the correct decision on both occasions. Even the makers say it is only 90-95% accurate, when it does show up its conclusive, making it a useful tool but it doesn't mean that on all occasions when a hotspot doesn't show that the umpire should not give it out. Remember Morgan and Laxman's incidents earlier in the series.

India should've been using Mishra as a specialist batsman. It'd have been more use than using him as a bowler or playing Raina.

England need some wickets, or this is going to be a draw.

I know I'm not exactly sticking my neck on the line here, but this will be a draw now. Little bit of weather is forecast for later on too, making it even more likely.

Nice of Tendulkar to finally show up in the dead rubber.

Seriously hope he doesn't get his 100, everyone will forget this humiliation in the ******** that follows.
