Cricket:India's tour of England 2011

Oh and as far as first page goes, nobody expected India to be playing as pathetic right now. But I guess you guys have earned the right to gloat.

It has been ridiculously poor from India, and apart from slightly overrating you're bowling I think that most of what you said at the time was fair.

Cooks been out there for every single ball fo the whole innings.

Sehwag -_- Bring back mukhund

I don't rate Dhoni as much, but you're absolutely under-rating Dhoni here. First of all, Dhoni's wicket-keeping abilities are amongst the best in the world. I'm not sure how much you've seen him but if you've watched him regularly then you would know that he is amongst the most reliable wicket keepers in the world right now. Don't get me wrong I also rate Prior highly. But I just don't think there is a noticable difference between Haddin, Dhoni and Prior. Ofcourse if we count AB and Sangakarra as Wicket Keepers, then there is no competition as two of them are surely the best.

Secondly, Gambhir is not a traditional batsmen at all. He is not amongst the most talented, but his mindset is like an Aussie batsmen i.e he is a very, very determined and hardworking cricketer. I'm sure that he will grind out and score consistently.

Also it seems that you've under-rated India and over-rated England. We coped up well facing the likes of Steyn and Morkel(Both of them would get into English teams easily) on the SA Pitches which are far more bowler friendly than English.

Actually the English Pitches will suit our bowling attack well, as most of them apart from Ishant doesn't really rely on speed.

Oh, and this.

Playing like Zimbabwe early 00's tbh.....how can India be anywhere in the top 4.

SA are better than India right now.

England deserve top spot. Their batting force is fantastic. Their bowling is brilliant. Their tail end can bat. Decent captain and really good fielding (they've dropped a few iirc).

I feel sorry for Flopara. Padded for the whole day and only lasted like 20 minutes. Sehwag came for his batting power, lasted two balls and then in fielding he was waddling like a fat penguin.

I really thought this would be a tight close exciting match between two of the best teams. Instead its like top vs bottom where you think, what is the point of this, england arent going to gain anything out of this :s

Plech, would you be interested in putting together a list of what you think are the best 100 movies ever? I seem to remember you throwing around names of hungarian movies like a film buff. I can assure you it will a loads of fun.

Brilliant last over from Pietersen, really think he could have been a very good bowler if he'd worked as hard at it as he did his batting.

Easy with all the knee jerk reactions. Bottom line is India were never in the correct mental or physical state for this series. I know that's a terrible excuse and they deserve the thumping they are going to get, but one bad series doesn't mean they're the worst in the world and England are the best.

Lets not forget how well India played in South Africa facing the likes of Steyn and Morkel.

He could ask his missus, I think she's a poncy film buff.

Not really, though I'd be happy to see such a thread come to pass. I'm not that much of a film buff. I don't know any Hungarian films, for starters... the closest I get is a few Romanian films, and Usual Suspects, which has a made-up Hungarian man in it.

Then he wouldn't have been as good a batsman though, I'm quite happy with him how he is.

Agreed, with the proviso that it would have been nice if he wasn't such a penis

You're disqualified anyway on the grounds of liking kitsch shite like Black Swan.

I dont whether to laugh or cry. These matches were supposed to be tight. How can India be this bad and yet be ranked number 1?

Just goes to show how shit england have been if we were #1.

This series is nothing more than how west ham twatted utd 4 nil last season.

To be fair we just drew with SA away from home and I'd fancy us to beat them at home. This is just a terrible representation of this side. We're a much much better team than this. But to be honest, I want us to get a shit load of flack for this. We deserve it.

I actually think India could beat anybody at home. Its just weird and seems like theres no motivation. Too easy to blame Duncan Fletcher? Not sure whats happened. Everything that could have gone wrong, has gone wrong.
Injuries, powerful batting line up flopping, bowling being worse than imagined, fielding being horrible with easy dropped catches and balls just going through people.

To be fair England haven't lost a series since Flower has taken over (aside from the initial West Indies one). So the rankings are skewed some what.

You're also being a bit blinkered by comparing the last three test matches to a one off game that United's 2nd played at West Ham. Fact of the matter is India have been comprehensively outplayed. 5 innings without even reaching 300 is a bit of an embarrassment frankly.

Be interesting to see how South Africa do in England next year..because if they couldn't beat this India side at home..

You can compare it to the run that Chelsea went on where they fell to pieces.

Out by a shoe lace

Seriously though, the pundits are always telling us that a player knows when he's hit the ball, so it seems strange that Dravid walked, after only a cursory word with Tendulkar, if the only contact was with the lace. Obviously the decision would have been overturned had it been reviewed.

Unlucky for Dravid. Bet he learns to tie his laces properly now.

This has been a great spell of bowling from Anderson. Very difficult to keep those late swingers out early in your innings.

I think we deserve our #1 ranking back if we can survive till the 5th day in the last test.

Swann unlucky. Dropped catches is the only thing England need to improve on.
