No point declaring before lunch. Might as well get as big a lead as possible and give themselves 5 sessions to bowl India out, plus ideally half a dozen overs before lunch to wind up their openers

This is terrible play by us. The tail-enders just dictated the proceedings against us in this match.

I'm with Strauss on this: imagine the embarrassment of making a declaration in the (admittedly unlikely) event that India actually make the runs? With five full sessions remaining after lunch, there's simply no point in declaring.

No way we're going to block this out. If we play 5 sessions, we'd be very close to winning. They should just play. Not like the Lord's test.

I liked the bit where he's feigning injury, comes out to field without bowling and misfields at mid on to concede one more run. No one can stop him from gifting away runs
I really wish we could go for a 4 pacer attack in the next match. That would be good.
