Cricket:India's tour of England 2011

Yeah, he is a bottler.

He'll go down in cricket history a bit like Andy Cole. Very good player, with an amazing stats record, but not a big match player or one of the true greats.

You are doing a massive disservice to Cole really. Atleast Cole played decently in a couple of.cup finals and semis, unlike Sachin for India. What's that? Two world cup finals he's failed horrendously in.

You guys try so very hard. Sadly unlike so many unskilled wums it's always in vain and a little pathetic.

Appeal for caught behind against Laxman turned down by the umpire and referred by England. Although there was a clear noise as the ball passed the bat, nothing showed up on hot-spot so the umpire's decision was upheld. Sky then proceed to show that "snicko" picked up a clear edge, but that technology is for some reason not being used.

Seriously, the game is making a mockery of itself here.

First thing, the sound that snicko shows comes a few frames after the ball passes the bat.

Second, it can't be used because it takes 5 mins for snicko to come up with the data, so it's completely impractical in implementation. You should hold off the dramatic statements if you don't know the details.

Looking good for us. Conditions not helping bowlers like yesterday. We need to pile on today. Preferably by the second new balls is taken we need to be around 220/3 or 4.

England's best bet is that they bowl India out for less than 350, or India does what Australia did in Cardiff - run up a score of 600 but don't leave enough time to get England out - though that would require the supreme wisdom of Ricky Ponting.

I'm certain snicko has been used as part of the third umpire's armoury in the past.

But on your first point, you seem to be suggesting there was no edge. I'd be interested to hear your view on what snicko was in fact picking up, and also what made the noise in real time as the ball passed the bat, given that the bat was a long way from the pad.

Now they're complaining about hot spot's reliability. England fans on the twitter that is. Great to see

Btw Snicko takes 5 minute to load, but yeah it's making a "mockery of the game"

Well, the 5 min thing is why it's not used -- I know that much.

I have no idea what the noise was, but Laxman shook his head before they reviewed and he's a pretty honest guy. Batsmen generally don't deny edges with hot spot around, either.

Snicko has pretty much never been used in Review system.

How did Prior become such a good keeper? He's collecting balls just beautifully.

God damn, I always get excited when Sachin walks in.

The "pretty much" part of your post suggests you are not sure? I'm pretty sure I recall it being used in previous series in England, but like you I'm not 100% certain.

India's session this. Great work by Dravid and Laxman.

Sachin out. Not surprised. Dravid and Laxman were the key men for us and I'll stand by that. Dravid remains key here.

Yeah, Dravid is the real quality player. He's a proper test cricketer.

Poor, poor shot again.

Dravid and Laxman apart, our batting has been so poor this tournament. So many players falling to stupid shots.

Another stupid shot by Yuvraj. Are they fecking mad?
Pietersen dropped a sitter there.

Dropped in the gully. We could run through them now if we hold our catches.
