The most likely scenario is that the virus will mutate until it will become a bit like the seasonal flu. Easy to get but hard to die from. This is here to stay that much is for sure we will just have to find a way to cope and live with it. We aren't still in the situation where we can allow this to spread like wildfire because we just don't have the facilities for it. But the Omicron variant seems along the lines of spreading easily but seems to be very mild for those who are vaccinated.
Yeah, the issue with this variant though is that it spreads so fast it’s going to get to anyone who might be susceptible to it at the same time, potentially overwhelming the health system.
