Covid Outbreak at Man Utd

Maybe they decided what to do with the club and leave the announcement for tomorrow? I mean it’s unbelievable that the situation is not decided and the game should be in less than 24 hours!
Surely they should let the travelling fans know as soon as possible though?

I want the game to go ahead but to be honest I don’t fancy playing these after that horrendous performance against Norwich if we’ve had no time on the training pitch to correct things for this game.

They'e just waiting for the last United fan to step foot onto transport down to Brentford before they announce that its off

You're just guessing like everyone else is.

Ultimately it's not as easy as just saying let's train at Old Trafford.

No one knows exactly what's been said to the FA however I'd imagine they will word it carefully so they aren't punished. Ultimately let them make the decision.

I’m not guessing, it came from the official club’s statement. Probably better read that so you can understand my point.

When should usually the team travels? Is it should be one night before the game? Or they can travel the same day we play! Things are not clear.

They surely can’t cancel on the day of the game?

The point you were making is that because the youth cup went ahead the game against Brentford should.

The point I'm making is the two together don't matter.

It matters because on the statement we are using the reason why we sent for an advice in the first place because of the cancellation of training. The club could actually still continue any kind of training at OT since the youth team could use it today.

It wasn't just the cancellation of training. It says a number of positive cases amongst players and staff. Carrington has likely been closed to be cleaned I imagine and to ensure nothing else is spread.

Neither you, or I, know if it's possible or feasible to move training to Old Trafford at such short notice. Especially given the protocols that are in place.

The club are concerned about the number of positive tests and the lack of preparation. Both of which impact on player safety.

A joke the Premier league hasn't made a call on if this postponement will happen or not. Once again they couldn't care less about the traveling support.

That’s why I mentioned this:
No excuses, it will still be on probably. Unless if lot of players from the Norwich games just tested positive.

No fans attending that one though, very different.

True but after tonight when nobody still doesn’t know if the game tomorrow night is going ahead, I won’t be surprised if they announced a late postponement like that. It’s the travelling fans I feel most sorry for.

i got covid early on (very mild symptoms) and i keep getting the inmunity numbers in tests i know people get different results. im talking about personal experience. sorry if my english isnt so good

You built anti-bodies against the virus because you had the virus and I'm glad you got away with mild symptoms. Being young and in good shape does not give you immunity nor guarantee you get mild symptoms.

No one knows the number but the club confirmed there's been a number of positive tests in the playing and coaching staff with others sent to isolate.

If we have lot of players tested positive then we shouldn’t be just asking for advice as per statement, we should be asking the match to be postponed as per the rule.

Since we didn’t ask to be postponed then the numbers could be small amount.

Semantics. We shall know more tomorrow.

Finally you get the point. What a tough day.:)

Well no. The point still stands that the youth cup has nothing to do with United being obligated to play v Brentford. Which is what you said and why we ended up with you suggesting that players train at Old Trafford whilst posting photography from David Moyes personal album of a preseason tour down under..

Anyway. We will have the answers tomorrow!

Can't be that many considering Brentford's small stadium. 2,000 is the maximum

Doesn't matter if there are 200 fans going, it's disgusting.

My train from Piccadilly is midday tomorrow and I had until 2pm today to cancel my hotel, which now has to be paid for.

Premier League should have released a statement as to why it was still not called off, and what the next steps were to at least give us a chance to decide what we want to do with regards our own travel arrangements.

Breaking:

Clubs are now fearing season is to be shutdown due to the high number of cases.

London is lovely, just enjoy the trip.

I'm guessing if they make a decision on us, similar will apply to the likes of Brighton and it could a get a bit of a mess.

Football wise we aren't going to be prepared at all for this game and it would be better for us if it's postponed.

It means there was no reason to cancel the training today due to the whole facilities being affected by the covid outbreak. We could be using it as an excuse to tell PL we can't proceed the game tomorrow.
No, a lot of the different youth teams don't even train at Carrington. So the closure has nothing to do with them.

I don’t know why are you focusing on the youth cup alone. It’s actually more the fact Old Trafford is available to use today.

The moyes one is only to tell you that footballer can do any kind of training without a proper training facilities and that’s better than no training at all before the game, thus, why I keep asking you whether any kind of training is better than no training at all.

Yeah it’s irrelevant because I wasn’t talking about youth team train at Carrington anyway.

Because that's how we got into this debate; with you insisting that because the youth cup was going ahead that there was no reason United v Brentford should be postponed.

Then you went all around the houses to try and explain the logic behind that yet we still came back to what United said in that a number of players and staff have returned positive tests.

They can train at The Cliff but it still wouldn't change the fact there's been positive tests and the youth team and the use of Old Trafford, or the beach, is irrelevant.

Bloody hell

I am still going to go, but it gets worse I am going to take my 3 year old lad with me so I am praying this is not called off, otherwise its a few cans on the tube and an afternoon in the transport museum.
