So is there an acceptable number of people dying every day of the virus that you would be OK with ?
One thing that has become apparent since this outbreak is just how easily people can be consumed & controlled by fear. I've posted a link below from a Swedish Professor who classes covid-19 as a 'mild' virus, & claims that strict lockdowns will not work over the long term. From my own personal experience of working in the food manufacturing industry for a company that employs over 600 people on all shifts is that we've continued to work, & a total of 30 colleagues (across all the shifts) have now been tested positive for the virus. Thankfully none have of them have suffered any major problems & most have returned back to full time work with just a handful due to return in the next week or so. I'm not downplaying the seriousness of the disease because it's highly infectious & is currently killing a lot of people. However very, very few of those who die are youngish, fit people with no underlying health issues. So when someone on here says that Paul Pogba could suffer serious lung problems if he were infected by playing football. I'd say he's got more chance of picking it up from going into somewhere like Bensons for Beds or the Trafford Centre when they eventually re-open in the next couple of months.
Speaking as a Liverpool fan myself, if you read through my posts on this topic I've actually suggested that football should be halted until such time that everyone is happy enough that it's safe to do so. But I know one thing for certain, if the FA & PL wrote this season off this morning without any promotion, relegation, or named us as champions. I can guarantee you an awful lot of United fans on here would be singing a different tune this afternoon saying that there's no reason why the new season can't start in just a few months time.
