Cop in America doing a bad job, again

The local media of Baltimore more often simply report on these troubling developments by repeating announcements from the Baltimore Police Department press office.
Although there are factions committing crimes beyond comprehension of a first world law enforcement agency

Does this explain the fairly recent poor police behaviour?
American cops being trained by Israeli forces.

The article has nothing to do with bad police behavior in the US. Very poorly researched and biased.

Yes departments are sending its people to Israel for training. My dept has, but only our SWAT team. I believe it's mainly for counter terrorism tactics and strategy which is crucial for departments that have security sensitive locales (airports, transport hubs, stadiums, etc). We've also had representatives from Israel come to our department to do vulnerability assessments in our security sensitive areas.
The writer makes it seem like it's frontline officers being sent en masse to learn krav maga and torture techniques.

Oddly if you click any of the links in the article (the state name ones) it takes you to articles the clearly mention anti-terror training which makes you wonder how the writer failed to mention it.

If this happened in a courthouse shouldn't there be video evidence to support the narrative that the deputy was in a life threatening situation? At the very least there should be plenty of witnesses who can confirm the narrative.

Depends on where in the courthouse, not all areas (i.e. The courtroom) would be under video surveillance. Some courtrooms have it , some don't. But yes there should be a few witnesses, again depending on where it happened.

Prospect assistant police chief told LMPD recruit to 'shoot' black people
The former assistant police chief of Prospect told a Louisville Metro Police recruit that, if he catches juveniles smoking marijuana, he should "shoot them” if they are black, according to documents released Friday.

Todd Shaw, who resigned from the suburban Louisville department late last year, sent several “highly disturbing racist and threatening Facebook messages” to the recruit, Jefferson County Attorney Mike O’Connell wrote in a letter to Prospect Mayor John Evans on Aug. 31.
...
Shaw served with LMPD for more than 20 years before joining the Prospect department in 2012. In one of the Facebook messages, the LMPD recruit asked Shaw what to do in a scenario in which he catches three juveniles smoking marijuana.

The question was part of a paper the recruit was writing about “the right thing to do,” according to O’Connell’s letter.

“F--- the right thing,” Shaw allegedly responded. “If black shoot them.”

And as for what to tell the parents of the juveniles, Shaw said: “… call their (pa)rents … if mom is hot then f--- her … if dad is hot then handcuff him and make him suck my d---,” according to O’Connell’s letter.

Shaw continued, “Unless daddy is black. … Then shoot him.”

I always wanted to work in the states as a specialist, for a few years, but as a brown guy who sports a beard for most of the year, I don't fancy my chances, looking at all this info. On a similar note, the girl in this video is silly and should have been reprimanded but who the flip arrests a couple of people over something as trivial as putting your feet on the seats in a train?!?!?!

Her friend too. Amazing how little shits like that can moan about not being shown enough respect, at the same time as calling someone a "f*cking asshole" for doing his job. Guess there's two sides to the complete breakdown in respect between cops and their communities that ends up in people being shot.

Those people around him were threatening enough that I could see him thinking about drawing and he'd be perfectly justified.

And if summary execution is ever justified, I'd happily vote for a cap in the back of the head to any cnut who kept their feet up on a train seat after being asked to remove them. Bang! Humanity's gene pool instantly improved.

What a waste of resources though. If she refused he should be able to just write her a spot fine and be done with it. Ends up having to call back up, 2 arrests, 2 people to process and charge, train was probably delayed. Police resources are better spent elsewhere.

Also that people advocating police drawing their weapons in a crowded subway because someone had their feet on a seat need to think properly. What if she reacts by running away, do you then shoot her in a busy subway? Cop did the right thing.
