Cop in America doing a bad job, again

SMFH...

With stuff like this, it's no wonder why people still carry guns around and it's also another reason why ordinary cops should never be allowed to carry guns on patrol if you want mentalities to change about guns. And if cops can't accept that, if that's beyond their oath to protect and to serve, they can feel free to leave the service and go back to flipping burgers like the losers they are.

Sorry for the confusion. It was a tongue in cheek comment from this brilliant bit.

I already made my feelings clear as to what kind of police officers should be licensed to carry firearms - SFOs. They also should not intervene unless and until the situation is confirmed to involve an active shooter or a terrorist threat.

May work fine in other countries. In America, that’s just dumb.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out and if there is any bodycam and/or local cam footage. Disregard the ESPN editing botch in the title.

Scottie Scheffler detained by police befpre start of PGA Championship
-- The police officer attempted to attach himself to Scheffler's car, and Scheffler then stopped his vehicle at the entrance to Valhalla. The police officer then began to scream at Scheffler to get out of the car. When Scheffler exited the vehicle, the officer shoved Scheffler against the car and immediately placed him in handcuffs. --

Scheffler arrested this morning in what appears to be an overly aggressive policing action during traffic detours following a pedestrian struck near the golf course. He was not involved in the accident but was attempting to navigate around traffic, in his clearly marked golf vehicle and having been told that players, officials, etc., were permitted to move away from regular traffic to make it to the course on-time. Scheffler supposedly moved to a shoulder/other lane area to which a cop in rain gear - apparently not quite visible in dark if this was a cop or a security guard of sorts - and the cop yelled at him and literally attached himself to the side of the vehicle for a few years until Scheffler stopped. He was then yanked from the car and cuffed.

An ESPN reporter at the scene also cited overly aggressive policing towards himself, stating he was told he'd be arrested if he attempted to get towards where Scheffler was detained and this after he identified himself as a reporter.

@MrMarcello - no body cam footage, but this shows the cop is bullshitting hard

I can’t believe they’re refusing to drop the charges.

Golf social media is having a full blown “are cops the baddies?” moment

The taxpayer will pay their salary, they will pay their legal defence, they will pay the settlement, they will pay their pension, and they will be happy to support the boys in blue. That is (not being ironic here) why democracies are superior to dictatorships. You can get people to happily voluntarily harm themselves if they believe it's a free choice.

City of Sturgeon -- The City has reviewed the dispatch report and body camera footage regarding the recent dog at large incident. The City believes that the officer acted within his authority based on the information available to him at the time to protect against possible injury to citizens from what appeared to be an injured, sick, and abandoned dog. The dispatch indicated that the person calling in did not want to be contacted, and had reported that the dog, though not in her view dangerous, was injured, maybe blind, and had mud and dried blood in its fur. The dog’s strange behavior appeared consistent with the dispatch report of an injured or possibly sick dog. In order to better equip officers for future animal at large call outs, the City will be sending all officers to Boone County Animal Control for training and education, in hopes that this unfortunate situation does not occur again. --

Ah yes, send them to an AC where they can pick out their next targets to murder. If they need this sort of education and training then perhaps they shouldn't be allowed to hold a weapon and wear a badge that gives them execution authority.

I'd also say the person that called in is a total coward. It's a fecking tiny dog, go check it out and if it's rabid or agitated take further necessary steps for your personal safety, and for others. I fecking hate people.

Some feckin neighbour calling the police on a little dog like that.
Call the dogs owner or pick up the dog and bring it home.
As for the cop; Feck knows what he was thinking but he deserves serious reprimand or sacking for his actions.

Just your typical friendly neighbourhood psychopath who couldn't resist the chance to use his gun on a living creature.

Probably the entire reason he and thousands more like him joined up.

The internet has crushed the City's social media pages. Oh, and this happened yesterday.

The City of Sturgeon received notice from Kevin Abrahamson that he has resigned his position as Mayor and resigned from the City Council effective immediately. Mayor Pro-Tem Seth Truesdell will perform the duties of mayor until such vacancy is filled in accordance with local ordinance and state law.

Separate post

On Friday evening, I was informed that the Mayor would be resigning and I would be assuming his role. The board of Alderman and myself do not agree with former Mayor’s statements and were not giving any notice before release. The first time any Alderman saw the body cam video was during the KMIZ news release. Like you we were just as appalled by what we saw. The actions of the Officer involved are not the values and beliefs of the residents of Sturgeon or the board of Alderman. Currently I have made calls to the Boone County Sheriff to meet and discuss an investigation. The officer involved was placed on leave and will remain on leave until further notice. The board of Alderman will be holding a future special meeting to discuss personnel including Officer Woodson. I personally give my condolences to the owners of Teddy. I know nothing I do now or in the future will bring Teddy back. The board of Aldermen and myself are committed to helping the City of Sturgeon heal.

It’s been said before, but the fact these psychopaths do this shit, knowing they are recording themselves, is shocking. They completely lack fear of repercussions or accountability. Can’t wait for the story of how the officer was “transported to a local hospital to treat injuries”.

reminds me very much of ag-gag. it's legal to basically torture animals on farms, but it's not good publicity when that stuff gets out. so states banned all undercover work in farms ("ag-gag" laws) and the feds put animal activists on the top of most wanted/terror lists.
here too, cops can kill as much as they want, all they need these laws for are the publicity.

I hope every single one of those cops is immensely ashamed of their cowardice.

Crucify these motherfùckers

This one is particularly heinous. They are there to help her - they can't even say she was a suspect. And it escalates out of nowhere, for no reason. The woman must have been absolutely baffled.
