Confirmed Transfers (Summer 2013)

Lucas Digne (one of the most promising left backs in France in recent years) just signed for PSG. A 5 year contract estimated between 12 and 15m euros

They're about to announce officially the signing of Marquinhos too (rumored around 35m euros). I think PSG got wound up that Monaco had stolen the transfer market limelight, they're spending some serious money now.

I was hoping he would come here. There's always the possibility of the Porto player...

Yeah Digne has always impressed me for a young fullback. Should be able to see off Maxwell before long

They paid 3m for him last summer and have sold him for 35m a year later. Great business for them, I don't think he even featured that much for Roma last season.

Edit: 26 league appearances last season, fair enough that's not bad for a 19 year old but still it's an incredible fee.

Those bastards. Would've loved to have him as Evra's replacement. Definitely better value than Baines anyway.

Why, Glaston? Seemed to be a promising player!?

Yes, it's very puzzling on the surface of things ... especially since Vertonghen may miss the start of the season due an injury picked up during pre-season on a mare of a pitch in Hong Kong, and Kaboul hasn't yet even featured in any pre-season game, which all leaves us currently with just one fit specialist CB (Dawson) as far as I can tell.

However, we're apparently close to signing a (supposedly) very talented 23 year-old Rumanian CB called Vlad Chiriches from Steau Bucharest ... except the club's owner is some gangster who is in prison and has apparently taken umbrage at something or other and called the deal off, but somehow (don't ask) the deal is still supposedly going to happen. But surely we should have made sure of tying it up before selling Caulker?

I can only assume that AVB doesn't rate Caulker as highly as many do and thinks we can do better. In AVB we trust, I guess .... but it's all bit surprising.

Very strange. A club like Spurs need 4 decent centrehalves.

If United weren't so well stocked up on centrehalves, I would have been happy for the club to take a punt on Caulker.
