Confirmed: Moyes sacked.

If this is what United are up to that is pretty shocking. Typical Glazers. Go for the cheap option instead of the correct option.

It is shameful but that's business.

There will be a lot of pressure on Moyes to walk away, in fairness it'll be good for his health, he looks like death these days.

You ungrateful sacks of shit. You were supposed to be the institution where loyalty mattered. You were supposed to be different. He hasn't even had time to build his own team, ffs.

A dark day for football.

Looks nailed on at this stage.

I feel for the man in a way, obviously he was never going to turn down the opportunity to manage here, and he seems like a good guy, a very hard worker etc, but sadly the job was just way over his head and his overall attitude this season has shown that, he probably knows it himself going by the way he acts in interviews.

Quite right.

I cannot wait for MNF later and Neville's reaction.
He'll probably be happy, everyone in the media united wise seemed to have turned on him and were criticizing him. There's literally nobody who still supports him.

Can people stop quoting Honigstein as truth, hes speculating.

Don't worry too much. If he doesn't go this week, the club will publicly back him but that doesn't change the fact that he's a dead man walking. He won't last until the summer.

Well I still have to say that it was by far the best result for United's long-term future, therefore I am a topper Red
Nah you are a gimp

He would have gone anyway in the summer. Yesterday's result hurried it along by a couple of weeks

Doesn't he have a clause in his contract if he fails to qualify for Europe?

I would imagine there are "get out" clauses for both sides, but i see no way we can confirm whether they exist and what they are.

I heard that if United wait till the summer they can get rid of him with little or no compensation, the deal was structured so sacking him during the season would result in a big payout.

If that is the case i can see someone in united telling him after a shocking season he will be fired in the summer hoping he will resign now. Either way after the poor poor season hes had i dont care how hes treated as long as hes gone (its been a really really bad season...)

What should we be grateful for?

He was the chosen one, by your most succesful manager ever. And you couldn't even give him another summer.

Close to tears here.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Great news.

Remember folks, it's not official until I get the phone call from Ed asking me to sign on the dotted line. Crustanoid will be my #2.

Surely what Raph Honigstein is saying isn't true. That would unbelievable and an absolutely farcical way to do things

It's utter bollox and would amount to constructive dismissal meaning he gets paid out anyway.

he just needs time.

... to gather his laminated set play folders and f**k off, the useless, dour c**t.

When you pair the reaction with the scoreline in the game, you get a feeling for how our season has gone.

That Gif is edited isn't it?

Fulham scored a late equaliser to make it 2-2.

With United needing to close a six-point gap on sixth-placed Tottenham in order to salvage Europa League qualification, the club is facing the ignominious prospect of failing to qualify for European football for the first time since the 1981-82 season.

It has also been noted by senior figures that United are set to become the worst defending champions in Premier League history, equalling the seventh place finish of Ray Harford’s Blackburn Rovers in 1996.

I'd take a pigeon managing the team over Moyes. The fact that you are a real human being makes you over qualified.

Thats why I said IF this true. Can't you read? And I am referring to a tweet from a respect journalist, as opposed to some random poster on an internet forum. Like you, for example.
Yes, I can read. "Typical Glazers" you said. What is "typical Glazers?"

Well, even if that's true it helps out summer planning by a couple of weeks. But, say if United had beaten them comfortably and gone on a streak and just missed out on the Champions League, you're saying there's a 0% chance he would have stayed?

I had to abandon my lunch mid mouthful as soon as I got this text. Not proud about how excited I am.

You honestly believe the owners didn't have any say in hiring him/transfer activity. A glazer yes man is the chairman ffs, leave it out.
They went on Ferguson's recommendation. There would have been fecking murder if they didn't appoint Moyes after Ferguson blatantly stated he wanted him as his successor, and it would have emerged.

It doesn't matter what say they had. Moyes wanted the players. Moyes was the manager. They backed the manager. What is the big deal in all that? Are they supposed to go over the manager's head now and say "no actually, he's shite and we don't want him."? Because that is a far, far worse situation to be in.
