Confirmed: Moyes sacked.

If the club/board can't make correct decisions regarding Moyes, giving him money for Fellaini and Mata how does anyone have any faith that they will find a suitable replacement for Moyes.

Club is being run into the ground by leeches, this is just another dark day. If it's true I agree with the decision, but it gives me no confidence.

I find it sad that we are in this position . Maybe relief , but excitement never
Excitment for our future without him. It was clear to a few people from the beginning and to the most people for a few months now that with Moyes we would go only down. It doesn't matter how many superstar players we would have signed as long as he was our manager. So yes, I am even more happy than when we won the last title, because Moyes here for another year or two with 150-200m to spend would have make United the official new old Liverpool. The best day for us since 'viva John Terry'.

Just heard this news on talksport.

Can anyone give me a quick round up. Please.

Mark Ogden, the Telegraph journalist with United connections who first reported Fergie's retirement broke the story that Moyes is to be sacked. Since picked up by essentially every other news source. Club refused to deny it. It's happening.

Could be ... but having fun at seeing someone getting the sack is sick to say the least. Some people over here who wanted him out, behaved quite well, however there is a small minority who are actually enjoying seeing someone career being destroyed.

I'm sure the multi million pay off will ease the pain.

We'll all laugh about that one season when Moyes was manager in a few years time.

I have always liked Moyes and respect him as a football man. Never once have I slagged him off.

But I see no future with him and have been saying that for a few weeks now. I am excited for a new future for man utd and I hope Moyes gets a good job ASAP

Spot on

Sadly I think you are right. This is the new world now. The Glazer run Man United. SAF's influence is well and truly over - even if his last big decision was the wrong one.

Speculation started around 2.30 with an article from Mark Odenn in the Telegraph that Moyes was about to get sacked, the rest of the papers have followed with their own articles, the club are refusing to deny the rumors.

Too much smoke for there not to be a fire

If this happens I will feel so sorry for Moyes, its sad. He's a good man who was offered the biggest job going and has ended up being woefully inept at it. He couldn't turn it down though.

On the other hand, this had to happen and on a football level I'll be delighted to see the back of him.

Giggs until the end of the season then van Gaal, I reckon. That said, my first choice would be Klopp. I know he has said he intends to honour his contract at Dortmund but looking at the sheer dominance of Bayern it is difficult to see Dortmund cracking that. He might decide to move on sooner rather than later.

I don't think Simeone is a realistic target as he is on the verge of something pretty special at Atletico and he loves the club.

van Gaal would be available after the World Cup and has a proven track record, despite him being difficult to work with by all accounts.

Nope. People are enjoying UNited becoming without Moyes. I don't give a shit if Moyes gets now Madrid or Bristol City, I don't like and neither care about him. He has brought us only bad moments and considering that the majority of people here are United, not Moyes fans, they have every right to be excited that there is still some light in the end of the tunnel for the club they love.

It has been a 'fun' ride. He has been a nightmare for every United supporter and a dream come true, making the wildest abu fanfictions on RAWK a reality.

I hope several people who like reliable hard working Brits with a determined face and a nice resume at nothing clubs have learned a valuable lesson: sometimes the obvious choice, the 'muppet's' choice, is the moeda foeking right choice.

On a side note, what the feck is up with the scoreline in that gif

I can see that point of view certainly. A shame it's come to this though
We need new players desperately though

I am pretty sure intentionally posting wind ups is frowned upon in the football forums.

But I do think this will have done serious damage to his career.

I'm not sure even the likes of Newcastle will consider him at this moment. He might have to go quite low before he returns to a decent pl side.

We're most likely bringing in a highly competent manager and are about to go on a summer spending spree. How is this not exciting considering the dross we've endured in this last season?
