Confirmed: Moyes sacked.

 Sky Sports pundits still trying to lick his arse.

We need to stick by our players this Summer. This wanker has done his best to ruin them, they need our confidence.

How long until rumours of meetings between the club and Klopp/Simeone etc?

Feels weird, it's just not the United way is it? Even though he clearly isn't the right man.
What is the United way? Ferguson/Wenger are anomalies in world football.

I said they should have sacked him after the Stoke game. If not then definitely after the Fulham/Liverpool games. We could have gotten in a new manager and possibly either made a surge towards 4th or "Di Matteo" the Champions League.

If these reports are true at least the club recognise that allowing him to bring in 4-5 of his own player's could result in a few year's outside of the Champion's League. Best to get a new manager in and give him a pre-season and the budget to mould his own team.

I don't know who this guy is, he got retweeted by Ogden. Can anyone shed any light as to his comments, I don't know enough about Simeone.

Right now i don't really care how good Simeone will prove to be in the EPL, i've had enough of Moyes and believe me i've tried too damn hard to convince myself that he will turn things around.

But it was made clear yesterday that he's lost the dressing room and that he has no plan to make this squad be competitive again. I'm also angry because if he had been sacked after the Newcastle or even the Fulham game at OT, we would have a great chance to be in the top 4 and secure a CL spot for next year.

To make a long story short, i'd prefer Satan to Moyes right now!

He may get a lot of money, but it can't be easy to be dealt the most coveted job in football to much fanfare and end up a laughing stock 10 months later.

It won't be easy but I for one think he can go out with his head held high. He failed miserably but he gave his all. Most of us who have been clamouring for him to go will still give him his due respect. Not everyone can be the manager of United at least he had the guts to try. He will for certain get another mid-table job and there's nothing wrong with being the gaffer of a more modest outfit which contends for top six year to year.

Can we keep the goalkeeping coach? Only good thing to come from this.

Much as I've lost faith in him, I do feel a little bad for him. Likeable guy clearly promoted above his station by someone who was (a) his friend and (b) arguably the best manager of all time. Now his reputation has done a Hindenburg, we've almost all turned on him, and many of the Everton fans whose club he gave over a decade for can't stand him and are much happier with his replacement. Nonetheless, you cannot say he's being treated unfairly if he is sacked.

Agreed with most of the sentiments here.

Moyes is a nice guy, but he lacks any sort of character, charisma or personality to be in charge of a world class football club. He is not, and never was, a winner.

Wish him all the best at whatever club he goes to.

I hope players like Rooney are brought back down to earth/ sold as well, by whoever the next man in charge will be.

Hopefully Kloppo comes steaming in and hits him a slap as his first course of action, he's a big, scary man, might bring out the best in Rooney.

Simeone wouldn't put up with his shit either.

I wonder what Fergie is thinking now, tbh the fans did as he said and supported him almost all the way. Excited for change, but is Giggs really up for the job?

This is going to be another let down isn't it. It won't happen until the end of the season, surely? I'm excited whilst reserving the right to say 'I told you so.'

He probably had some sort of clause for UCL qualification in his contract meaning he gets a lower severance.

Defeat yesterday and confirmation if non qualification probably helps the club make the decision.

That does seem likely given the timing. I expected it to happen at the end of the season.

People all over Twitter talking as if it's already happened. It's too big of a story not to be true. Reminds me of the SAF retiring saga last year.

United is making the right decision. He's probably been sacked already if it's getting this much coverage.

Now the question is, who will be available this summer to take over? I still believe Hiddink would be a fantastic choice for you guys.

I'd take him, even if it's for a few years to steady the ship and get us back on track again until someone younger, more long-term comes in.

I don't particularly like the idea of Giggs stepping up into a management role, or even as an assistant with an eye to stepping up in the future. I've read a lot of footballers' autobiographies which have mentioned that assistant managers have completely different roles to managers in terms of their interactions with the players. I feel this would be especially true for someone like Giggs given that he's been playing with some of the people he'd be managing for years. You can't expect players you've been bantering with in the dressing room for years to suddenly become unquestioningly obedient to your every word just because your job title is now 'Manager' rather than 'Player-Coach'. And from Giggs' perspective, you can't expect him to be able to treat players he's spent hours with almost every day with the kind of objective coldness a manager needs to have.

I don't feel bad for him. He's had a good whack at it, but apparently if he's lost the dressing room there is no way back. Plus he's a capable manager at a certain level and will bounce back...Also...he's going to get a shed load of dosh for his troubles

Who said we wouldn't have anything to celebrate at the end of the season...

I wouldn't really want Giggs as manager on a permanent basis. Not yet anyway. Klopp or Simeone would be ideal, preferably the latter as I think we'd have a better chance of snagging him. I feel under Giggs we'd play the same sort of football as we've seen under latter day Fergie and Moyes now, obviously speculating but I'd much rather someone with a set philosophy and Klopp and Simeone play exactly the sort of football we should aspire to play.

Elated that it may happen but, going to look like a fool too because I was certain it wouldn't happen after all the let offs throughout the season.
