Familiarising himself? I can't believe you've said that was a good idea, when you explicitly said that we'd have all of this warlord's memories and knowledge, so you wouldn't need to do any of that.
Selecting people from each field too, what is this? This is 13th century Africa, probably very tribal and uncivilised and undeveloped. In fact, I retract my statement about his answer being good. 'Social attitudes?' What does that mean? That women are housewives who stay at home and clean while the husband goes out and works 9-5 in the office? Not in 13th century Africa.
Developments around the world. Seriously, what the feck. How's he doing that then? When the best mode of transport would be via sea. Or will he just get on the blower to his mate Larry in London to see how things are doing over his end.
I took Familiarize himself in the sense that he's taking stock of the situation he's in. Yes, you do assume the entire body and mind of the warlord, but you might still have to assess everything before acting, it's not like you just jump up and start pointing at things and making shit happen.
So it's undeveloped and uncivilized, do you think there were no Africans capable of specifying particular fields in areas they are better in? Are they all mindless zombies who just act as one, unified mind and think and act the same? Of course you are going to have people better in different fields, and it takes a good mind to recognize and nurture that.
Right, so that's the norm, and your idea is to what...keep it the same? The point is you are going back there to change and improve wherever you can, not to keep it as it was or what you think it was. What an awful point to try and argue against.
So because modern transport doesn't exist as we know it, no-one travels anywhere? You think no-one contacted anyone outside of their own region, or looked to seek the developments of elsewhere? The point is, is that you, unlike a 13 century warlord, already know that elsewhere around the world many things would have been happening, that would be beneficial for you to know about.
He's given a realistic assessment of time, how long things would take to do, a slow and gradual approach to changing things, and some good advancements in areas that would have been unknown. You've given no real context to your plan, or any detailed ideas on how it would work, or how likely it would be, or how long it would take.
Let me run you through your plan:
- You've started by telling us his plan is good, and that you would the same things in different order.
- You've than criticized TB for being overly simplistic with the earth revolves around the sun comment, and than gone on to reference discovering penicillin, by making cheese from cows, and letting it grow. Yes, and that's it, the rest is done, penicillin is now made. This doesn't just lead to food with magical healing powers.
- You've said nothing on filtering water of your own, just praised TB's post.
- Criticized TB's part on changing the roles of women in society, despite him saying these things could take upto years to achieve.
- Talked about developing weapons. What weapons? Melee weapons? Can you be anymore vague in your answer? How are you going to develop armour? And than with these mysterious weapons, you achieve expansion and more resources. Again, it can't be more vague.
Most of your plan isn't actually a plan you've made for anything, it's mostly just criticizing, or praising TB's plan.
