Music Commercial Hip Hop Thread

Lol, i kind of knew a personal attack would come up at some point, i said 95% of drakes songs are about his life, and i stand by that, you brought up a song, i reviewed majority of the lyrics of that one song and proved that it was really about his life, you brought up more lyrics which i also reviewed, you brought up the altercation with puff... i didnt, now you don't give a shit? ok

I never said he doesn't try to talk the street shit, bring up a quote if i did, i said 95% which means the other 5% would probably be about the whole rap gimmick which is present in every single rapper, every rapper exaggerates, its nothing new.

"Baffles me how a rapper doesn't get the respect he deserves because he is from a good home with a white single mother (similar to J.Cole, but people never seem to hold it against Cole), Drake raps/sings about his life 95% of the time, he gives you his story in his own way, yet people still call him "fake", i really don't know man, what exactly is fake about that? you want him to rap about drugs? he isn't about that life, should he have bars about gang banging? like i said not about that life."

In respects to the W with Common, as i mentioned before, Common admitted to being the one at fault, he is a vet who was matched bar a rookie, now if you don't want to give Drake the "W" thats fine, but you cant give him an "L" for responding to a vet who was in his feelings? now can you.

Ahhhhhhhhh I'm going to go 0 to 100 real quick and kick my desk! Where did he go bar for bar? Drake's diss wasn't as good as Common's. That is universally recognised by everyone but you. Why can't you get that in your head?

"Teenage Drake groupie" haha,i guess when the going gets tough, you resort to name calling, i am not Drake's biggest fan, i like some of his music, doesn't mean i won't give him the credit he deserves, i have defended a lot of rappers i don't even feck with, Nothing new, it's a forum after all.

If the hat fits.

I like Bigghostface as much as the next hip hop consumer, but his opinions about Drake (some valid) have filtered to a disproportionate amount of the hip hop world. Even he will acknowledge Drake's adeptness on the mic.

But it seems this debate has died out anyways.

I actually think Drake is good at what he does. He just didnt get no 'W' against Common. And Common bores the life out of me incase Im coming across as a Common fan.

Nipsey Hussle is one of the best rappers in the game right now. Deserves to blow up

Quote the whole song if your going to it then.

"feck being on some chill shit
We go 0 to 100 niggas, real quick"

"Niggas wanna do it, we can do it they turf nigga"

"OVO, man we really with the shits, boy
Really with the shits"

"Don't make me kill one of the GOAT's for it"

Guess he slowed his ass down when he ran into Puff then.

 lil nigga got no business fecking with big boys. He went from 0-100 and back to 0 real quick with that. Anyway. Just had to say that because I didn't see it earlier, not trying to continue this 'debate'.

Chilled with Lil Zane and his very modest 'entourage' (two white guys, one appears to be a D.J/Producer/hypeman and the other was huge so im guessing bodyguard) at a club in Atlanta Friday night. He performed a new single featuring Lil Scrappy. Dude is real down to earth. My crew went to Waffle house after the club and he joined us.

Would that have anything to do with the fact that his career didn't go as planned? Seemed cocky back in the day

The Slim Shady LP was a classic, so was the Eminem Show which IMO was his most mature album. Other than that the closest to a classic for me was MMLP.

I should've mentioned Boogie down productions and EPMD

Listening to Ice Cube's ' Amerikkkas most wanted' for the first time entirely. This is truly a hiphop classic

Lil Wayne Says "Free Weezy Album" "Is My Best Work Yet"
"I won't let u down as a fan," Weezy wrote on Twitter.

Just days after lashing out at Young Thug onstage, Lil Wayne is apparently refocusing his attention on his own music and setting his next release up for big expectations in the process.

While the fate of his Carter V album and his future on Cash Money Records remains unclear, Wayne is doubling down on the promo for his next release, the strategically titled Free Weezy Album. Yesterday the rapper took to Twitter and pledged to his audience, "I won't let u down as a fan." [HHDX]

I hate when they say stuff like this, my expectation for this album is pretty low after SFTW 2, he is Lil Wayne after all and he has started calling himself Weezy again.....i think.
