Game and Young thug going at it on social media. Game is an idiot. Nigga supposed to be on another level and he is threatening to beat up a dude ten years younger than him. Stupid shit to get himself involved

Was thinking about posting this just now, but The Game v Young Thug isn't exactly the type of beef people take seriously.
Barter 6 any good?
Underwhelming for Thug IMO.
Going to give it a listen, safe to say Thug will be like Trinidad James in a few months then..
Lol no, Thugger got loads of heat on deck, Hy!£UN35 out in August. He'd been on a solid 2 year streak before Barter 6.
Migos or Thugger more solid run ?

This is why Game is a punk for getting involved in other people's beef.
This is an automatic L for both of them though.
That's his M.O to be fair.
Haha. Yea. Im with Thugger on this shit tho. I don't take him seriously but there's something likeable about him..plus he's a Bankhead/Atlanta dude. A town all day baby
Listening to some Method Man...man he has some smooth delivery on the mic. There's something really unique about it compared to the other rappers I've listened to
@Loublaze I personally don't mind rappers having ghostwriters but I think they should be honest about it. I'm in no means as knowledgeable about rap as you but If I found out that Nas didn't write Illmatic by himself for example I wouldn't rate him as highly as I do right now I think(right now he is my number 1 )
Whats your favorite Nas album besides Illmatic?
Oh man if he has only listened to Illmatic please let it stay that way for him, although It Was Written and Lost Tapes are pretty good.
If this is an attempt to embarrass me you have managed it! Stillmatic I really liked Ether, Got urself a gun and rule. I'm not too sure about his other work but I like his track 'I can'Whats your favorite Nas album besides Illmatic?
So what do y'all think about ghostwriting in hiphop? I had a lengthy debate with an old friend of mine from high school on this topic. He thinks authenticity in the game is paramount and that rappers should be writing 100% of their lyrics, that hiphop is unique to other genres in this sense.
I happen to disagree. How many artists, no matter how talented can do it all by themselves all the time? Jay-Z has written for a bunch of cats in his day (including Dre-Dre day and a few other tracks, Foxy Brown, Amil, Memphis Bleek etc) but he's also got help before. Sauce Money ghostwrote for Jay before and Jay introduced him to Puffy. Sauce Money wrote 'I'll be missing you'. Its also a well known fact within the industry that Lupe Fiasco did some ghost writing on the Black album. Its said that he helped Jay write 'Allure' and took a one off pay day for it.
Lupe denies it but they're clauses that come with this writing for hire shit. Nas also had Stic man (Dead Prez) and Jay Electronica ghostwrite for him on his Untitled (Nigger) album. Stic has also denied it but had this to say, ' As far as the rumors about myself and Jay electronica ghost writing for Nas, let me say this. Nas is one of the most prolific original lyricists to ever do it. My contributions to his (Nigger) album was a collaboration and an honor to work under his direction of what he wanted to convey and say". A tribute but also a suggestion here that the rumors about writing for him are true. He did another full length interview after this where he denied ever actually writing for Nas. Hmm
Mase claims to have ghostwrote for Big L quite a bit in their Children of the Corn days, and he also (this is public knowledge) wrote Biggie's verse on 112's 'Only you' as part of him proving himself before Puffy offered him a contract on Bad boy (Biggie's approval also helped Mase land his own verse on the remix).
There are many other examples. Puffy, Dre and Eazy E are well known for using ghostwriters so shouldn't count in this debate. Eazy was an authentic nigga, if Ice Cube or whoever helped him pen his shit it had no bearing on how real he was. Thats the way I see it. Styles has also written for Jadakiss and vice versa. Why is this a problem for some people?
You didn't like Stillmatic, God's Son, Hiphop is dead, Life is good or Distant Relatives (with Damian Marley)? I think Stillmatic is a classic.

There's a lot of guys that can write raps but can't rap for shit. The key will always be in the delivery, that's where the authenticity comes from, no one listens to a rap song and goes, 'wow that's the realest shit I ever heard,' goes and reads the credits, finds out it was written by someone else and thinks, 'ok this is now the fakest shit I ever heard.' Admittedly this scenario has never happened but rap music is all about feeling and creating environments that the listener can jump into with the rapper, that's where the realism comes in, that authenticity. There's no way someone can listen to the whole slew of mafioso driven rap records from the mid 90's and think it's remotely authentic just because Raekwon wrote his own raps.
I suppose a large part of the opinions on ghostwriting comes with the expectations you have for that rapper, for instance Nas would be placed as one of the most technically gifted rappers of all time so if he was found to have no written a single line of Illmatic it would hurt a lot more than say Dr.Dre who we know doesn't write his raps but we never really expect much from his rapping per se.
Stillmatic is good but slightly overrated IMO because of I Am... and Nastradamus. I like God's Son but most of Nas' discography is him being intermittently good as he can be whilst being half arsed over badly chosen beats for the rest of it. Hearing Illmatic and then hearing his subsequent lack of focus throughout most of the rest of his career is and always will be immensely frustrating to me.
Ether was an amazing track. Completely ripped Jay-Z apart. I read something about Jay-Z apologising to Nas because it upset his mum or something?!
My top 5 are...
Biggie Smalls
Nas
Method Man
Eminem
Gangstarr
That list is easily changed so if you have something to recommend please send it my way!
