Does anyone else go to the club sometimes... Not to dance, not to meet women, not meet hang out with your dudes but to update your playlist and get new jams? Or am I the only one that is washed at the moment ?

You don't even need to do that, just keep up with the Atlanta and Chicago rap scenes and 90% of the time you'll be covered.

Future is making a lot of really good rap right now, even though he sounds depressed as feck.

Every weekend. Not to spend money but to make it

Mr. Wonderful is good easy listening, which is what you want from Bronson. It's a solid album with some standout tracks. I wasn't mad on Easy Rider when he initially released it but think it's a great ending to the album.

Have only listened to Earl's album once but it appears to be a solid release, like Bronson it is what you'd expect. It is only half an hour long, but I think I like that because I sometimes find Earl's music and content can be difficult to get through.

Possibly the greatest collab of all time - Bar for Bar

I like posse joints. Very competitive and I remember in high school debating with friends about who had the best verse. Kanye's been part of some really good ones in recent years, like Drakes 'Forever', 'Mercy', 'Higher' on G.O.O.D musics cruel summer and T.I's 'Swagga like us' feat Jigga and lil Wayne. DJ Khaled's 'We taking over' was good too (no Kanye)

Here's a list of some of my favs bar for bar in no particular order...but no 1 is my fav of all. Over 90% from the 90s, best generation for posse cuts. Not many have topped these IMO.

26. Nas, DMX, Methodman, Ja rule- Grand Finale- Belly soundtrack
25. Notorious B.I.G, Redman, Busta Rhymes, Big Mike, Coolio, Bone thugs- Tha points
24. Jayo Felony feat Methodman and DMX- Whatcha gonna do
23. Def Squad (Eric Sermon, Redman and Keith Murray) feat Jamal- Countdown
22. LL Cool J, Methodman, Busta Rhymes, B-real, Coolio- Hit em high- Space jam soundtrack
21. Group Therapy (Nas, KRS one, Ras Kass, B-real, Scarface, Dr Dre)- East coast/west coast killas
20. Black Rob feat the LOX- Can I live
19. The LOX feat Lil Kim and DMX- Money, power, respect- Straight killer
18. Heavy D feat Big Pun and Eightball- On point- the big boys flexin skill. Even Heav goes in on this
17. UGK feat Outkast- Int'l players Anthem- Andre kills this
16. Three six Mafia feat UGK and Project Pat- Sipping on some Sizzurp
15. The firm feat Dr. Dre- Phone tap
14. Notorious B.I.G feat LOX- Last Day
13. Big pun feat Fat Joe and terror Squad- Glamour life
12. Nas feat The firm- Affirmative action
11. Dj Sway and tech feat RZA, Eminem, Tech N9ne, Xzibit, Pharoahe Monch, Kool G rap, Jay-o Felony, Chino XL, KRS one- The Anthem
10.Mase feat the LOX, Black Rob and DMX- 24 hours to live
9. Diddy feat LOX, Lim Kim and Notorious B.I.G- All about the Benjamins
8. Diddy feat Shyne, G-dep, Redman, Busta Rhymes, Cee-lo and Sauce money- Reverse
7. Craig Mack feat Rampage, Busta rhymes, LL Cool J and Notorious B.I.G- Flava in ya ear remix
6. LL Cool J feat Redman, Methodman, DMX, Canibus (his verse that started his beef with LL was taken off official single)- 4,3,2,1
5. The Beatnuts feat Big Punisher and Cuban Links- Off the books
4. LL Cool J feat Keith Murray, Prodigy, Fat Joe and Foxy Brown- I shot ya remix- features the famous prodigy line 'Illuminati want my mind soul and my body' and Foxy's debut in Hiphop
3. Warren G feat Snoop, Nate Dogg and Xzibit - Game don't wait- Great beat, hard verses
2. Wutang (ODB, Inspectah Deck, Meth, Ghostface, Cappadonna, U-God, RZA, GZA, Masta Killa, Raekwon)- Triumph- One of the best posse joints ever

Special mention: Black Rob feat Aasim, Babs, Ness, Young City (aka Chopper)- Team- track from Rob's overlooked 2005 album 'the Black rob report'. Quintessential posse cut feat the kids from 'Making da band'. Every one delivers. Must listen. Snoop and the eastsidaz feat Nate Dogg, Warren G and Master P- Lay Low-Master Ps verse is weak but it doesn't ruin this great track. DMX feat Sheek from the LOX, Syleena Johnson, Drag-on, Infrared and Cross- Untouchable. Great track

I wouldn't necessarily say this is the best ever collabo bar for bar, but its definitely one of my absolute favs.

Fat Joe feat Big Pun, Nas, Raekwon and Jadakiss- John Blaze

I don't think I even have to mention Biggie and Bone thugs. Class of its own but technically its a group/collective and one solo artist therefore 'duet' (some of the other songs I listed are tbf) @Big red123 Whats your take?

Raah! @Loublaze the man with the lists, so many classic joints on here, definitely adding some of these songs to my library.

Don't clown P's verse man, his verse had so much swag and it blended in with his white attire in the video, "whassup pimpin its P and Snoop, with Dre on the beat this aint nuttin but loot" gives me chills every time.

Checkout Reservoir Dogs on Hov's Vol 2 album if you haven't already featuring the lox and beanie

I have the album my man lol. I actually thought about that joint but I was trying to make a short list haha, not easy. Also thought about Blackout by DMX feat Jigga and the LOX, and Niggaz done started something by DMX, LOX and Mase. I think I left out a lot of classic tracks tbh. Yea, when I first heard Ps verse I was like wtf, but I got used to it.

I miss posse joints, I guess the reality is there's not really many MC's willing or even able to go bar for bar on a joint.

When the ROC ruled hip hop ...... sheesh!

Haha indeed! Everyone has their chance to shine. Even Dipset had a short period of radio dominance smh. Now im even thinking about more shit I could've added, like some of the joints on Freeways first album and the State property soundtack, and some Eminem/ G-Unit DJ Lantern mixtape shit from the early 00s

No doubt the late 90s and early 00s produced a lot of great content.

2000s ATL
Players circle feat Lil Wayne- Duffle bag boy

Bone Crusher feat T.I and Killer Mike- Neva Scared

Boyz in da hood- Dem boyz

Jermaine Dupri feat Diddy, Snoop and Murphey Lee- Welcome to Atlanta remix

Jeezy and Gucci Mane- So Icey

Haha not sure if you're being serious

I'm serious. Waka Flocka, Lex Luger, Zaytoven, Young Thug etc etc, Guwop has broken a lot of artists/producers and provided a formula for street rappers to build up cult followings and sustain what they want to do (Chief Keef, Migos) even if labels don't understand these artists.

Well, one thing he's always had is a large loyal local following. Prison time or not. Props and all that.

He's released 2039495 projects whilst in prison, his work rate is incredible. From watching that Noisey Doc on the Atlanta Rap Scene (which struck me as quite crass and exploitative tbh) I get the impression that he's pretty much universally loved in Atlanta except by Young Jeezy.

I've never cared for Gucci Mane as a rapper tbh but I've always respected his hustle in his career. I know people who went to high school with him. He actually had a comfortable upbringing.

Lil Wayne is the master of killing people on their own track with a hook, that duffle bag boy hook is like a bible scripture, its legendary - he did it again on the game's "My Life" off his LAX album.

Justin Timberlake on Holy Grail might just be the GOAT though.

:nervous: Hov and Rakim made a Great Dr Dre verse sound ordinary, with their extra-ordinary verses

Lil Wayne is good, but I think Nate Dogg (the GOAT of hooks), Akon, T-Pain, R.Kelly, Pharell and even Rihanna are better at stealing tracks with hooks. 'Run this town', Eminems 'Monster' & 'Love the way you lie' and T.i's 'live your life' are epic as fvck. 50 cent deserves a lot of praise too . 'Hate it or love it', 'Many men' 'How we do', 'Wanksta', 'If I can't', In da club...perfect hooks. My fav hook is the one on Big poppa.

In the wake of Kendricks second straight classic album, Hiphopwired.com made a list of 15 veteran rappers who they feel haven't dropped a classic in their careers. Here it goes.

1. Methodman
2. Lil Wayne
3. Ludacris- His best well put together album IMO was Release therapy. Luda had hits tho
4. Fabolous- Not so shocking, he shouldn't be on this list
5. Busta Rhymes- He's had a lot of solid albums track for track. The Coming was solid. I personally feel when Disaster strikes is a classic and Extinction level Event was stupid with the production and lyrics all the way through
6. Jadakiss
7. Twista
8. Rick Ross
9. David Banner
10. Cam'ron
11. Fat Joe- I feel Jealous ones still envy is the closest thing he made to a classic.
12. Joe Budden- Shouldnt be on this list IMO. Might as well mention others of a similar ilk like Papoose and Red cafe...it will make the list long
13. Trick Daddy
14. Pusha T
15. Skillz- Skilled rapper but really? Most people only know Skillz from his end of year rap ups.

Not a very impressive list. Half the rappers on it shouldn't be. Complex has their own list of 11 great rappers who never made a classic.

1. Canibus
2. Juelz Santana- Ok, he's a better rapper than he mostly gets credit for but great? Nuh
3. Rass Kass- Good one
4. Big L
5. Nicki Minaj- Complex GTFOH
6. Royce da 5'9
7. Jadakiss
8. Ludacris
9. Fabolous
10. Busta Rhymes
11. Lloyd Banks

Both these publications are reaching with some of their selections. I'd have Memphis Bleek on this list. He was a kid on Jay's Reasonable doubt in 96 but he never grew as an MC despite all the record company push and promotion straight out of Jigga's mouth. Here's my short list of names that didn't make the two lists

1. Cassidy- He's sticking more to battle rap these days
2. Beanie Sigel- Some solid albums but no classic
3. Pras- The least talented member of the Fugees failed with his solo career.
4. Mase- He had a chance to have at least one, but Harlem world fell short of being a classic. It had some classic cuts though
5. Nelly
6. Gucci Mane
7. Lupe Fiasco- Still hasn't made a classic for me
8. Eve- Eve is a very skilled rapper and she had her time in the sun. She could've made a classic but it wasn't for the lack of trying. Her efforts were solid
9. J. Cole- Born Sinner is a very good album, not a classic to me (yet). Some people think forest hills dr is better than TPAB!
10. Xzibit

Its all debatable. Some fans will swear all these artists have made classics

How important is a classic album? Not many rappers can claim to have the run Lil' Wayne did from about 2005 until 2008.

50 cent is my favourite guy on a hook no doubt, Rihanna,Nate Dogg,R kelly and Pharell aren't really rappers, hooks are kind of their specialty..... but yeah 50 is right at the top.

His hook on "New York Times" - J.cole, still gives me chills.
