He's likely replacing Firmino long term, who will probably be shipped out in the summer. There's similarities in their games and Gakpo can probably fill that role quite well for Liverpool.

It’s also hilarious how so many on here turn their noses up at a player until a rival club is interested then suddenly the player in question turns world class and we’re a bunch of incompetent bastards for not getting the deal done. I’m sure people were saying the exact same when they signed Nunez, were we wrong for not outbidding them on that one?
