1. He’s not a striker currently.

Ya I’m out sure yet if he will be a hit or not but I do think he has some good characteristics to play that role that Firmino has Played for years at Liverpool. Liverpool switched it up this year by going with a more old fashioned striker and it has not worked out for them so it seems they are going back to their roots under Klopp.

That is a good point. His fee has not altered much from the summer despite his improvement this season. There was no auction and they could not even get Licha Martinez money for him never mind any where near Antony levels. You would think they would be using those as comparison points for the league's best player.

United haven't got the funds to be spending big on a replacement for Elanga. They need to muddle through to next summer and find the guy who they think can be an elite number 9, I'm not sure who that is but I think it's fair enough if they didn't think Gakpo was the man (it seems he turned United down anyway so maybe they did but he decided that Liverpool was the better option).
I have to be careful though as don’t want to be accused of policing the forum again

I would not call myself a Gakpo expert by any means as I mainly follow the Portuguese league but from what I’ve seen or him I like some of his qualities.
