There are so many that are desperate for what they consider will be “debt free” Qatari billions, that they’ll take anything in the INEOS bid and paint it in a negative light.

It’s odd, as you say, until we see the plans we don’t know if modernisation means a couple of hundred million or a billion. Give me Madrid’s modernisation a million times over Spurs or Arsenal’s stadiums.

He is right though. Modernisation can mean anything from a Bernabue style of Modernisation to a lick of paint and a couple of big screens. That us why SJR should explain what he has in mind

He has an NDA, is he even allowed to discuss it?

And he’s not “right”, right in this instance would be:
“let’s see if we get to a stage where we see those plans, or if the Qatari offer is too strong for the Glazers to turn down”.
The poster is instead already painting it in a negative light, when it could be a huge positive, the point is, we don’t know, just as we have no idea how the Qatari bid is being funded.

Some however completely ignore the funding of the Qatari bid, painting it all as positive despite the huge unknowns about the bidders, yet do the opposite with INEOS. It’s a clear bias.

Ah, this one where GS are worse than the Qatari leadership, I enjoy these odd chats.

We’re talking up to 6bn here, it’s all “dirty” capitalism in some way. There’s no clean money here man.
I know there is no clean money here. But come on man. Goldman Sachs .

I very much doubt it would be, it’d be on the 10 times larger INEOS group.

And once again, we have no clue so far as to how the Qatari bid is funded.
In Jassim we trust. It's well known all the money will be coming solely from his own savings pot.

You want even more debt loaded on to the club? It will be indirectly and with current interest rates too?
Isnt this how most clubs would be purchased? And the debt not put onto the club. We were just very very unlucky to have the tapeworms who currently own us.

In fact isn't it now not possible to do what the Glazers did? I might have made that up though.

Goldman Sachs, If Saddam had a bank and Goldman Sachs is just next door, I would rather use Saddam's Bank.
So would I, but only because I'd be wondering how a dead man owned a bank.

As if they are going to count £6B by hand lads

Ineos rebuilding the stadium will be with a loan, nothing funny about that. The loan will most probably be on the club.

You have absolutely no idea about that, like zero.

So no “if or buts” is laughable.

For what it’s worth, I’d personally be fine with the club paying for it’s own renovation or new stadium, just as 99.999999% of the World’s other clubs have to, but that said, financing would be much easier through INEOS due to 2bn annual profits, in comparison to losses or at best 100m profit.

You've drunk the greenwashing kool-aid

Ah okay didn't know you meant that.

How do you know that's the case?
It will be just like any other club in the world, how is that strange? Real, Munich, Spurs, Arsenal all did it and I am not at all against it. The club should build its stadium with its own money. But if the possibility of building it from the owners money will come up, I will not say no.

Read my post above.

This is misguided.

All of our ex players who are 'football people' championed the appointment of Ole which set us back years. Neville, Ferdinand, Scholes, Keane etc.

Give me non ex players who have achieved proven results at other clubs over 'football people' all day long.

They are pundits and ex-teammates of him, not employees. Ajax did pretty well for themselves with Overmars, VDS etc. I still want Qatar, but if I had to choose between that guy and Jim I might've leaned towards the Fins if it was a full takeover and not a minority stake. What are SJR's proven results at Nice?

Semantics.

uhhh you said the Glazers didn’t put their own money in. This is false.

then you said something about the PIK loans which was also false

it’s not semantics, you’re just wrong and can’t let it go

The reality is that nobody will lend the club money to build a new stadium unless it's at some exorbitant rate. We have borrowed so much already. And based on our current projections, our topline revenues aren't expected to the degree that we can support an additional £ 2 billion loan.

At best we can 'modernise' by using a palette of warm taupes, browns and caramel tones on the interior walls of OT. Upgrade the wifi and some LED lighting.
