Ineos/Qatar are in a better negotiating position. The Glazers didn't even take a dividend at the end of the most recent period. Think about that. The club have lost £225m over the last 3 years deapite having CL football 2 of those 3 years, and are on pace for another loss this year. New FFP rules have started now and the club could be facing fines by summer 2024. The stadium is in bad shape. Commercial revenue is down.
Even a minority investor, if they're stupid enough to trust the Glazers with their money despite all of the above, won't help the potential FFP issues coming. The value of the club is not about to shoot up significantly, certainly not enough to make up for a reduced ownership percentage.
They're selling. There is no value for them in staying.
