Murtough without a doubt, however Arnold needs to be replaced too if takeover ever materialises

You can't repeat what Moyes did. And replace everybody to the detriment of the club's overall performance -- which in this case would be commercial and financial performances.

And they are proven superstars; the best in the world in that aspect.

Didn't Moyes rip up the coaching side whereas it's the structure above manager which needs a complete overhaul before anything else

That was the parallel I was trying to draw except in this case, ripping up the top management.

A few months back I would have assumed that Arnold would be the first to go with a new owner. And Murtough to stay.

But I am not so sure now considering how well we have done financially/commercially. You lose Arnold, you may lose the commercial team behind him.

Now Murtough is the one at risk.

Does anyone have more information or can guess where Nine Two Foundation are getting their cash from. This is a obvious question I know, but David Ornstein said other PL Clubs will be furious and will interrogate the sources of Jassim’s Money, if the Qatar Bid is accepted. So surely the whole owners and directors test will take a lot of time and fights will emerge.

Is it simply QIA providing the funds in a roundabout way via N2F or is it genuinely something different. Because N2F will have to pay £6 Billion for the 69% and then a extra 1.2B for the Class A, 31% and then you got the stadium, training ground and player transfers. You’re looking at close to £9 Billion all in

This is serious cash for a football club, given they are generally poor investments. How will Qatar manage to cover up that it is essentially the QIA’s money. And let’s be honest, it must be the QIA funding the MUFC bid as no-one else in Qatar has access to that level of cash

Reported that Ratcliffe wants Paul Mitchell as sporting director to be his first hire. They've supposedly held talks.

I can’t wait until the likes of John Murtough and Darren Fletcher have gone. Imagine having a competent and qualified recruitment team in charge of our transfers. We haven’t had this since Summer of 2012 with Gill and Fergie

If we do get new owners who are competent, I think a lot of fans are underestimating the time it will take to become serious title challengers again. Look how quickly Saudi has turned Newcastle around, look at Arsenal and their Owners. It can be done quickly if you do it correctly.

Such as hiring a world class sporting director, spending money on the right players with the right age profiles. And a decent manager.

I think we need to tape our expectations with any new owners. It will not be a sea change. The longer this change on owners take the shorter and higher expectations it will be.

Newcastle are clever in that they had a decade of pain under the Fat Man. So to manage the fan base's expectations, the Saudis did not run out and spend big (though their FFP constraints had a part to play.) Also, the fan base does not expect to go out and win silverware. So they can afford to take a tortoise approach.

United fans have a higher expectation. So it will be the new owner's call to see if he needs to do a Boehly or a Barcode approach. The chances are we will be closer to a Boehly approach.

The next question is how we spend that money and the apparatus ie DOF & his team. Honestly, six months ago I thought we were seeing green shoots. After this start, who knows? Who is responsible etc needs to be addressed by the new owners.

But either way, its not so clear-cut that a new DOF or manager or both is the magic wand.

We are too far outside the organisation to really make any real analysis if we are being honest. From the outside, we will look at things line-item-wise, very narrow and yet its the only things we see.

But when running an organisation as high profile as United's, we need to look at it from a 360 or in its totality perspective. Budgetary, human, operational etc. resources; shifting priorities will all be beyond the visibility of the casual fan.

And yet they all affect the footballing side of what we see.

The minority investment is a route to a full takeover and I'd imagine Ineos will ensure progression before handing over a dime.

Maybe, but until that final stage happens and they are gone, nothing will change. We will still be a sh*tshow. And god know how long they will cling on for

One thing not being mentioned in regards to INEOS taking a minority stake... How does this effect the ridiculous amount of debt?

Does anything change at all on that side of things? Because this is one of the biggest issues hanging over the club's head at the minute.

Im assuming it just continues on growing as it has been

Tell that to the people that the liars convinced people to vote Brexit and then how they criminally mismanaged Covid, crashed the economy and wasted billions which they gave to their buddies.

Way ahead of you on that score.

Of course, I am free (for now) to criticise the UK government as is my want. Criticising the Qatari regime would likely land me in prison. Or worse.

Brexit is an aberration but it can, and likely will, get worse. Qatar is already there.

Maybe, but until that final stage happens and they are gone, nothing will change. We will still be a sh*tshow. And god know how long they will cling on for

I don't know what will happen across the next few years, but we have to remember a takeover is no silver bullet by any metric.

Qatar got badly thumped by Saudi last night and their top talent clearly want out. Even Ineos beat them a few weeks ago, at theirs. They've only started team building as their Galactico project failed badly. It's not working, either.

Of course, United are the bigger 'brand' and play in the lucrative EPL, however this just gives further opportunity for Qatar to mess us up.

Not enthused by any option.

The quarterly accounts are due out any day so we will see what we currently stand at debt wise and I can't imagine it will be pretty. It will have no impact at all on the debt, as the Glazers will pocket the money from the sale of their shares if that deal is agreed on, so unless Jimmy decides to clear some, it will have zero impact.

If you think the Saudis have a tortoise approach to Newcastle wining, think again!

All it took was Eddie Howe to lose 3 PL games this season, incidentally way before we did and in much more controversial circumstances like Liverpool nicking a game, the toon had dominated and the threat of the sack was on Eddie Howe horizon, that’s how a big club operates.

The Ownership is so set on wining at all cost, even the whiff of mediocrity is not accepted. They lift the club by appointing top people in scouting, Directors of football and in the board room, they look to achieve their goals in phases, currently Newcastle are in phase one and already thrashing PSG in the CL.

Phase two allows them to be CL regulars and increase their revenue to compete with the other top 6 by generating £500m a year in turnover, now allowing them to buy the true marquee players in the game, they could be shifting to phase two within the next two years and finally phase three would see an Ancelotti, Zidane join if Eddie Howe doesn’t look like he can win the EPL or CL, the stadium will be increased to 70-75,000 they’ll just buy all the houses around he area for twice their market value and give the sellers life time toon memberships.

Phase 3 is planned within 7-10 years of them taking over, currently we are in year 3 and they have now knocked out city of the Caribo cup and have 4 points in the CL, set to qualify for the next round. So after losing 3 from the first 4, they bounced back won the next 5 out of 6, turning over PSG and City and outplaying Milan in the San Siro.

They are already well ahead of schedule and as soon as we play them in Carabo and league we will realise just how far united have slipped. The best thing that could happen to United is finish 10-12th in EPL, finish bottom in CL group and get knocked out of both cups very early. The fans will lose interest and they’ll turn off, you only fill a dilapidated broken stadium with fans when your club is relevant, as soon as you become less than that which we are currently on the road to being, that stadium becomes 70% full and the finances start to decline.

Right now the EPL is graced by some fantastic clubs, a resurgent villa, spurs and Liverpool. Brighton who are the new Leicester and Leicester will be back next season as another True top 8 team, Two state run clubs where second place is just not an option, an Arsenal team who made a decision to stick by the manager and are now reaping the rewards, Chelsea who spend billions and eventually they will get it right, money talks and then you have the once heavyweight champion of the World who is a former shadow of himself, taking unnecessary punches which are now doing irreversible damage to his legacy so much so that even his peers now don’t see him as competition but instead just feel sorry for him and actually want him to retire!

Under the Glazers and their clear inability to understand what wining takes, by appointing a clear wining culture from top to bottom. Do they even got angry when the club loses a game, my bet is Darcie, Kevin, Bryan and Edward didn’t even know we were playing on Tuesday.

Joel And Avram where both shopping with their doggies in baby buggies and probably said something to Arnold, can you do a new financial forecast on CL revenue this year if we only one won game drew one and did not qualify for any European football after Xmas.

They don’t care, they don’t understand the game, they won’t leave until someone lines their pockets and things will only get worse before they get better.

I say we back ETH because his nepotism, stubbornness and basic lack of understanding of the EPL will cost the club many more embarrassing loses and eventually the Glazers will have to sell.

I disagree. I think we have a very strong and established wining culture, especially among our fans.

Oh, and that part must be considered the actual, brazen-faced propagation of disinformation

Winning culture from the people who stood by OGS as a manager for years and were happy to lap up the propaganda from Neville and co?

I think you've got the wrong club.

Unless he meant "whining attitude", in which case he's bang on.

He can feck off with the minority stuff,we want those leeches gone now not in 2026

Looks like Ineos is the only way forward, given Joel and Avram want to stay.

No one said it would be 2026. Even if it is, it is better than keeping The Glazers permanently.

Fans have to be more pragmatic, especially as it is out of our control.

Fair to say that it well known that Joal and Avram want to remain.....

Erik ten Hag has endless problems — but Manchester United have a way out of ‘toxic’ mess | The Independent

"It similarly looks likely the ownership situation will settle, even if it is not as many fans want. Joel and Avram Glazer still aren’t ready to sell, which will prevent the unanimity required from the siblings unless a mega offer is made. It is why Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s potential minority offer may be a strategically clever compromise. It gives the Glazers necessary investment and gives the INEOS boss a way in."

It is another quote that is bland and vague. You could easily say the interested parties are ready to buy Mufc

Shows how shit these journalists are. They’re not investing any what they raise.

Well the other 4 are. You’ve been overruled you pair of cnuts, now sell up!!!

This is actually an interesting point.

As per https://theathletic.com/4389616/2023/04/08/manchester-united-investors-glazer-sale/
the 4 other siblings have the shares and therefore the voting power to outvote Joel and Avram.

You wonder why they couldn't insist on Qatar bid being taken, given they are offering circa $30 a share?

It could imply that the other siblings believe they can still get the same $ amount from Radcliff while allowing Joel and Avram to stay. Feels like this is the number 1 options and Qatar is the backup.

Delaney talked an enormous amount of shite. He has this trick of re- reporting what’s already been reported a week or two ago as his own and get the retweet’s

Why use N2F and not 92F ? Oh well!

I suspect the other clubs won't be pleased, but how is anyone going to be able to get the access to and the truth of the real source of the cash.

It is not £6 Billion for the 69%, it is £6 Billion for 100%, so the Glazers will get 69% of the £6 Billion, the rest will go to the other minority shareholders, including NYSE investors.

The fact that they're not only still alive instead of mysteriously stricken with some illness, but still knocking around at the club after so much correctly focused negative-psychic energy directed towards them from a fan-base in the millions means that, sadly, it seems the devil really does look after his own - in this world at least. No other major ownership having treated their fanbase like this would be wandering around on the streets of a major city without a presidential-style security detail. If this was Liverpool, the Glazer compound would be getting molotoved every other day until they sold up..

Aye, It’s a strange one. You’d think the other 4 would be pushing for a full sale as they stand to walk away with far more money by taking the Qatari’s offer than Ratcliffe’s. The talk is he’ll invest 1.5B for 25%, now will part of that be used to pay off the 4 that want out? If so that’s far less than they’d get from Sheikh Jassim or will they be forced to wait on with the other 2 and hope they agree to sell up in 2 or 3 years time? The whole things a fecking mess.

Shows how shit these journalists are. They’re not investing any what they raise.
Hey guys, I know you want to sell and us two don’t so here’s an idea.
How about Jim buys your shares and you reinvest your money into the club while we keep ours and sell for 100 percent profit in two years.
Sound like a good compromise fellow Glazers?

In this case, there are no knowledgable reporters. Everything is behind a veil of intense secrecy. All we have is conjecture.

The post a complete 'nothing burger', isn't it? All the variables are already established. Column filler.

Pragmatic meaning shit sandwich in this case. No thanks to introducing a Brexit Boomer to the roster or cnuts that own the club.
