Critical thinking - what source would Neil Custis have at the club, that is close enough to the process to know this absolutely gargantuan news that would use Neil Custis to leak this information?

He’s been spot on with the Greenwood stories for months now.
Smells like it’s true to me. Sporting wise we should have a big January window but at the same time feck Qatar.

I think it’s helpful for own sanity to treat this information with knowledge that the guy also get information from his imaginary friends.

That said, the Cardiff guy is more trustworthy.

Would be very odd to use that trick for a story as big as this though, far easier to just say similar to what he has, but put an element of doubt in the story still so he can backtrack if he needs to, but he's gone all in.

The main thing I remember Curtis as getting right first was when Rooney left.

He’s been 100 percent with Greenwood news. He wasn’t waiting until one leak got out to everybody or reporting what happened after the fact.
I’m guessing whoever was involved in that process is leaking this. Possibly someone fecked off with the entire Mason situation

Thing that worries me is he may have a source and the information maybe true as I think others have been before him but that doesn't mean it won't all change with the Glazers. I think there is truth to what he is reporting but we know full well the people that own us seem to delay and change their mind consistently.

I refuse to believe Custis has sources who talk to him willingly. If he has info, it's likely from The Sun's tried-and-true phone hacking methods.

Mid October will come and go and still we will be none the wiser about the takeover.

If I had the skills I'd make a meme of the mythological tale of the guy who rolls the big rock down a hill only for it to show up at the top again shortly afterwards. The rock would have Joel and Avram's faces on it and the guy rolling it would be Ten Hag.

The Greenwood issue is an internal MUFC issue. The MUFC sale process is being handled by Raine Group and is subject to The Securities Exchange Act of 1934.

If someone within the club knew what Custis is claiming, then the circle of people that know would be a lot wider than Neil fecking Custis and the share price would be around $30 right now.

If someone within the process is leaking, why are they using Neil fecking Custis? Why are they risking prison time to leak to a 3rd rate football journalist that works for a tabloid rag?

Next quarterly earnings report is due out in about 4 weeks, so you'd imagine if something WAS going to happen in October, we'd hear something around that time.

Remember, the date is pencilled in so when this inevitably doesn’t go through in mid October, Curtis can just point to that.

For what it's worth, Alex Crook ( of Talksport fame ......... I know, I know ) in responding to the Custis' "scoop", has said that he also has been told by "behind-the-scenes" contacts at OT that SJ has won the bid.
Talksport also reported the club's decision on MG a good 2 days before it broke.

All I’m saying is that he had a source that called Greenwood’s situation correct the entire way though and that could be argued only came from the top.
Im not saying Custis is one hundred percent correct here but it holds more weight for me when it’s right on the heels of his Mason exclusives.
Nobody is going to prison now! Nobody went to prison when Bloomberg or the Financial Times had their little exclusives

He’s run that story every time the club has been under the microscope for something else. So I’m guessing Arnold is briefing him.

I think you're right. But the tweet/article has hardly had the desired effect. It's not much of a talking point now anyway and no one really believes The Sun. Imagine running to Custis when in trouble....

News deflection tactic……Home Game Saturday with protests, MG debacle……..pressure on CEO - all very obvious

Is custis the fat boy that LVG told to have more doughnuts ?

Back to the good old days of United looking to hire a Director of Football straight after a defeat. Classic Woodward tactics.

I'd say Custis is making a huge gamble if he's guessing.

It's one thing getting transfer stories wrong, but something as huge as this, you really are putting your credibility on the line. I don't think he's a bad journalist, I don't think he's the best wither but if he has got this wrong, I'll not be reading anything he produces again and I'm sure I'm not the only one who'll think that way.

He's a football writer man... not some medical journo or doctor. So what if he's wrong, there is no harm or foul in it No one will die from it..
