That's pretty standard for most journalists from reputable organisations and even in journalism schools. At least two sources they can confirm.

I think that "classical journalism" went out the window a decade or two ago, sadly.. but maybe there are a few remaining like that

I went to journalism school

I was referring to the NTY, WaPo, Bloomberg, and Reuters of the world. I think they still do it. I think the Blomberg guy who broke the Ratcliffe's bid is dead as a doorknob story said that too.

Custis' source/sauce could be a fortune cookie from his local Chinese.

Custis has had some scoops before anyone else when it comes to Utd. Don’t let your dislike for him and the awful rag he works for cloud your judgement - Custis has some very good contacts at Utd and has done for many years.

yeah I don't trust Custis but it's a very specific claim to go out on a lim for, not your usually transfer-type bollocks that is impossible to disprove

I also think what he is claiming is the most likely outcome

At this point, I am taking everything with a pinch of salt.

Need this to happen because the Glazers can't finance a revival when competing against Clearlake, PiF and Abu Dhabi. I don't see how the Glazers stick around without a significant cash injection, and without a significant cash injection we won't be competing with the wealth funds who are prepared to go the extra yards to create competitive teams.

In a perfect world, we get the announcement of a sale some time during the international break in early September. Have some faith...it's all we've got.

I think Neil Custis… had one of his family buy United shares and then just wrote the article so they can sell the news. Don’t see how Custis gets this when he’s had nothing about Sheikh J or Glazers.

The Mbappe situation makes even more sense now, SJ convinced him to stay another year at PSG and told him he’ll move to us next summer once the takeovers complete

It’s all starting make sense now !

And Jassim leaked the Greenwood story to put pressure on or make things untenable for the Glazers. The timing is just too uncanny not to be true,.

He is a sneaky one, that young Jazzy.

I just realized Curtis may have been the 1st one to break the Greenwood story. Did someone else beat him to it?

I'm resigned to accepting that we're never getting rid of the Glazers.

Today I took a shower
After finishing my room make over
Purchased a flat from it's old owner
It was cheap, like buying a phone for a tenner
I took him to a Kebab shop, he asked for a doner
I asked why did you sell it and why are you such a downer
He said he's depressed because of United owner
He didn't understand why they wouldn't sell, them Glazer
I told him it's okay one day they will be a seller
That rich guy from the middle east will be the buyer
The club happy under the new owner, forever

Need more substance to believe it. There's a good chance this is a deflection away from the Greenwood situation, Richard Arnold under pressure to step down, sit down protest this weekend, and the impending disappointment of the transfer window closing in just over a weeks time.

Want to believe it, but it all seems a little too convenient, and a story not revealing the source is suspicious.

No journo reveals their source

I doubt this. Worse case scenario for the Glazers is not selling the club, rather, just sacking Arnold. Get rid of MG, too.

They are selling up because the debt is too unmanageable. They just sat Qatar out til they got their six billion.

Job done.

Now it finally seems United are a sports-washing operation for Qatar, the club can move 'forward' accordingly.

Custis' has got plenty right over the years, in between lots of utter utter shite. But do I trust him of all people to have possibly the biggest piece of news in world football? I would like to!

I think it’s helpful for own sanity to treat this information with knowledge that the guy also get information from his imaginary friends.

That said, the Cardiff guy is more trustworthy.
