2023 they year everyone got bamboozled into thinking Glazers would sell.

In 2024, have they announced who's the new James Bond yet?

James Corden.

‘Now, Bond, pay attention - inside your furry animal costume is an inbuilt recording device. Spectre will have NO IDEA that the person dancing around like an annoying wanker in a novelty outfit is a 00 agent, but it’s imperative that you keep dancing and annoying everyone around you.

In addition to this, your car has been fitted with an onboard camera and CD player - this will enable you to film yourself singing with any passenger you have inside the car and then lull Spectre into a bored trance with the mind-numbing idiocy of the footage.

And Bond… try to return it in one piece this time.’

2022 - Manchester United fans are by and large disgusted by the Qatari World Cup and the abject conditions people were forced to work in to complete such a disgusting situation. Massive outcry lead by Eric Cantona calling the situation vile and human rights organisations around the world rightfully question whether sporting success is worth the death of thousands.
Why doesn't he criticise French activities in West Africa?

Can someone with no regard for their own time create a timeline of every shit source claiming someone had won the race to buy United? I feel like it’s groundhog day, of the worst kind.

Glazers going no where.

Well they may as well announce it now, however fully expecting it to be dropped the day after window closes

Yep the article says Rio stated in his last Five You tube video that SJ and 92 Foundation would not go more than the current bid of £5.3/5.4bn however the article is saying that Rio might be wrong as the rumour currently circulating the media is that SJ/92 Foundation made a 6th bid of £6bn, hugely confusing and who knows if Custis or any other Journalist has got the absolute facts on this due to NDA’s, shares are rising sharply again however.

We’ve all been here before so until the club announce something officially I’d say believe all the rumours with a pinch of salt !
I've no idea what the exact figures are now but debt seemed to stand at ~600M for a decade so a 6bn valuation and a 5.4bn bid could mean the exact same thing (i.e. business being worth 6 but seller receiving amount net of outstanding debt).

I wouldn't be surprised to see random punters mixing up the two, it already happens regularly with transfers being valued inc. total wage package and bonuses with varying degrees of likelihood, or not.

I thought a few weeks ago that the sale will happen when this thread get 2023 pages. It looks like the new “rumor” just happened around that. This time, it might be real! ;)

I do think the club will be sold for a number of reasons.

Back in December, it was announced that the club had agreed that they had made a deal to buy back the rights to the front of shirt sponsor. Both potential new owners would like to choose the sponsor with Nice having Ineos on the front their shirts and PSG having Qatar airways on theirs.
9 months later, apparently we still haven’t managed to find a new sponsor with the wording being that the current deal had been done in a covid market compared to a normalised market where they now think they can get a better deal. If the Glazers were staying, I’m sure a new deal would’ve or will be done.

Transfer spending is typically heavy in the new managers first summer window but drops off significantly for the second window. If the Glazers were staying, why would they allow this amount of spending when they haven’t before? The credit facility has probably been used again.

If the glazers sell off a minority stake in the club. What will the appeal be for a investment group? Why would they buy from the Glazers when they can get the shares from the NYSE? They aren’t likely to be paying a premium either. Say the Glazers sell 10% of the club to raise capital on a overall stock market valuation of £3-4B. How far does £300-400m get you? Where does it goes? Can’t pay off all the debt with it. Can’t build a new stadium. How likely is it that all 6 siblings would want to do this anyway? When have they ever put money in?

They decided not to take a semi year dividend and we haven’t heard about a year end dividend that they would’ve been due to take in June.
In June 2022, ESPN reported on the year end dividend, we have heard nothing this summer. If there were any reservations about whether to sell or stay, they would’ve take the year end dividend.

You can't 'demote' democratically elected figures on conjecture, then 'impeach' them for no valid reason. Well, unless you are or aspire to be on the 'far' side of the political spectrum, like Qatar is.

If anything, Colombia desperately needs a peaceful settlement like Northern Ireland achieved (what its majority truly want), not some TikTok populist sensation promising to 'temporally' suspend parliament to purge ' corruption'.

Way too much of such populist shite in the world lately and South America could truly do without far left or right for some time. Possibly forever.

As for Qatar, they will absolutely leech off United, using us to sell their vile dictatorship.
Our far left president, violated article 109 of the political constitution by spending more than it was allowed in campaign, and thus the election is invalid. There is evidence about it and it will be presented by non other than his son, not someone from the right. That’s not even taking into consideration. the narco money that entered the campaign.

What Colombia needs is a capable leader, who reduce taxes, and allows the private sector to grow providing jobs for the people and prosperity for the nation.

About negotiations with illegal groups, FARC disidentes already violated one peace treaty. They should be prosecuted and condemned. ELN negotiations are welcomed, but without surrendering the armed forces to them.

Agree with you that extremes are dangerous. I prefer a center right president such as Santos (2010-2018), but with a more libertarian view on the economy. But our current far left government is by far the worst we had have: gas prices are at historical heights, food is 1,5-2x more pricey than before this government, they are planning on destroying a health care system that’s so good international patients travel to have treatment here, violence (assassinations, kidnappings) are at the higher they have been in decades, guerrilla groups are controlling parts of the country, etc.The current populist president was previously mayor of Bogota, and was dreadful. How people believed in him seems insane.

Are we talking about the rumour put out by Custis that club will be sold in November

The son who was arrested for money laundering, in an enquiry fully supported by his father?

Do you have actual proof of this? Not questionable testimonies, but proof.

Sorry, but lowering taxes doesn't particularly help society, but the already well-off. It is good news about the ELN ceasefire and a welcome coup for Petro's faltering administration (not that he deserves full credit), but can't help but feel it will go nowhere.

All sides who committed atrocities deserve condemnation, as do Qatar's human rights abusing dictatorship and their politicised acquisition of MUFC.

To add to the conspiracy theories.

I usually don't subscribe to this kind of stuff but United hate being criticized and definitely do not then allow those people on their marketing.

The colour just adds fuel to the fire. Still, until we get an official announcement, getting the leeches would always feel like a far away dream scenario.

White with red trim?

So, the Glazers have sold the club to the Qataris but haven't told NYSE or SEC, in direct violation of their owners and directors reporting obligations (they can face jail time, not to mention being sued by the existing shareholders for breaching their fiduciary duties). However they HAVE told Roy Keane and Adidas and have also allowed Adidas to publicly drop hints that the sale is complete by colouring United's logo with Qatari flag colours in their adverts (because Adidas thought this would be funny?) Sounds plausible.

It’s a lot more red on the official site. That’s maroon.
Also if they’re trying to pretend it’s a private bid, it probably makes sense not to advertise the country backing your bid behind the scenes by plastering their bloody flag over a football kit.

Has Keane called out the Glazers much? I don’t recall him being as vocal as Neville has on the subject.
He has been vocal quite a bit in the years gone by, you’re right in saying not as much as Neville but there are clips of Keane being vocal after matches…I think the above many are reading too much into this, then again I’m not a conspiracist

What in the world are you talking about?
Italian Prime Minister recently made a point on France's exploitation of 14 African countries and their gold.

Giving them a newly created paper (technically worthless unless backed by things such as gold) money (specifically for those countries) essentially funding their mines - where children are digging - to give France the gold and in exchange the African countries will receive a small percentage of the gold's worth paid to them in this French made up paper money.

It's funny when people reply with "Western Governments are bad too" to anyone concerned about Qatari state ownership as if these people aren't completely aware of how bad "our" Governments are.

But I'm just wondering what that has to do with what Cantona has been saying?
