we have seen bigger movements in the share price over the past month, but strangely this time there's no one coming out pretending they know something.

Custis article over the weekend when the exchange was shut

I think the sale has been completed and will be announced when the transfer window is shut. The Glazers boxed themself into a corner running this long a process. Their only play with a scrapped sale is holding out another 3-5 years for a Saudi takeover vs taking the money now with interest rates as high as they are and taking the risks off the table.

2023 they year everyone got bamboozled into thinking Glazers would sell.

2022 - Manchester United fans are by and large disgusted by the Qatari World Cup and the abject conditions people were forced to work in to complete such a disgusting situation. Massive outcry lead by Eric Cantona calling the situation vile and human rights organisations around the world rightfully question whether sporting success is worth the death of thousands.

2023 - Some Manchester United fans are actually retrospectively loving Qatar and there was no issues and shut up you’re racist if you disagree.

Do you genuinely believe that?

ah i see. we are all clutching on hopium then.

phunky, my man, we’ve smoked so much hopium in here over the Summer that we’re all now hardened hopium users - desensitised to the dosages that would bring casual users a euphoric high…

This thread is indeed nothing more than a giant, sprawling hopium den.

Some of us - like myself and @Pexbo loiter around the dark corridors, cantankerously grunting at other, less jaded addicts who approach us with hopeful, needy smiles and ‘news’ of share rises…

Others, such as @croadyman, desperately pace the dingy walkways, eyes ablaze with hunger as they accost anyone who glances their way - ‘what are the chances it happens soon!?’, ‘out of a 100 how confident are you it’ll happen!??’.

Then there are those like @Wumminator who warily enter the den, trying not to grimace from the stench of our depravity - preaching to us to mend our ways and replace our hopium habits with ‘moral fibre’.

But alas, to no avail. For we are too deep in our hopium stupor to even hear his shrill bleatings.

Yes, they're cut throat businessmen at the end of the day and this is likely the best deal they'll get. If they try to run a process again in 3-5 years, who are the incremental buyers above this deal? Qataris will have bought someone else by then and Saudis may have turned Newcastle into a powerhouse

i was looking at the stock numbers on 15/06, when the stock jumped ~12% after opening. BUT the volume of shares traded were ~10M, probably due to the posts on social media stocking buying pressure.

however, the volume traded today is an order lower ~1M and counting, but the jump is now ~11%. any traders can share any insight to this difference? or am i thinking too hard about nothing?

Pity Express is total shite source

Think they are reporting the sun are reporting. Same with the mirror. All going off the Custis report from last Friday.

What's encouraging for Qatar is there are no major denials, no Ineos lackey spouting 'we're still confident' articles to keep journalists warm.

Yup. Get used to it. Hope it won't come to such, but am not confident.

we are all here to partake in this. Now i know for sure i’m not the only one refreshing this thread to check for something, anything even if it’s nothing.

Yeah the lack of denials and INEOS lackey articles from Lawton is somewhat of a positive

I wouldn't read much into lack of INEOS statement of 'we're still confident' as meaningful at all. They can't respond to every bit of rag speculation with a statement, if they did then these newspapers would bait them into comment any time they felt like stirring the story up to generate extra clicks.

Think press have finally given up on it

Some interesting institutional holdings activity (on both buying and selling) as of July 1st.

I agree. The club is already sold but the Qataris are not officially signing docs until all Transfers are done and dusted to avoid overpaying and screwing FFP.
This is also why things are so quiet at the minute as a done deal not yet signed is hugely confidential.
