Club Sale | It’s done!

All reputable outlets seem to assert that the prospective minority investors are even more in the dark about the present situation than the full takeover bidders.

Surely the Glazers need to choose one or the other, otherwise what has the last 9 months been about?
I think @pocco meant glazers staying as is. Minority investment is probably the worst option for them, unless they just take that money for themselves. In which case, it's the worst option for the club.

Glazers already drip feeding the idea of them staying. Laying the ground work ready for the announcement.

Yep. Absolutely text book Glazers.

Just the beginnings of them trying to normalise it.

Edit - the drip feeding of them staying begins the exact same day that the deal with Onana is agreed

They’re so pathetic and predictable you just have to laugh really.

And the case of the red Porsche

Imagine in Qatar ;
1. One of their oldest news publications mentioned it was only a matter of hours before SJ took over Man united a few weeks ago.
2. Congratulations messages from reputable Arabic businessmen in the Middle East
3. Nick the Dweeb Speed is more sure than BerbaClass that SJ and 92 Foundation have won
4. And Now SJ has a new shiny red Porsche with MU number plate

If they have lost, this is going to be incredibly embarrassing for the state especially after the recent commotion at PSG with Messi leaving and now Mbappe threatening too, they need a win and a big one soon especially with what Saudi are currently doing ?

Understood, but then why did the Glazers go through this entire process of soliciting bids/investment in the first place, if not because the staying as is option for them was becoming financially untenable?

Qatar will look complete fecking idiots if they get dont get United. The fact its so public they've been dancing around for 8 months is the one thing were you go "that regime cant not buy it surely!"

They won’t look like idiots if they go and buy another PL club and do a good job there though will they.

If they come out of this feeling snubbed they can immediately rectify that, and take on the Glazers / Ratcliffe in the process.

Which I’m sure they would do. I know I would.

United is the best asset to get, so it’s not going to rectify missing out.

And that probably isn't SJ's Porsche.

Well it certainly rectifies them ‘looking like idiots’ if they buy a PL club for a lot less than Utd and then end up defeating Utd as City have done.

And there’s no other way to spin it.

If they buy Spurs / West Ham / wherever and are beating Utd on the pitch, it won’t be them that people are laughing at and calling idiots…

Imagine a regime like that, chasing a £6 billion entity for 8 months and come away without it. Its one thing to go by another club. That's damage limitation. Not getting this done after chasing it, will be embarrassing for the individuals involved.

It really doesnt. This isnt about "buying a football club." This is about buying a pop culture institution, know throughout the globe. The one who still makes hundreds of millions in profit when they havent won the league in 10 years. You dont put 5/6 billion down if your goal is to simply "own something like that West Ham lot."

Mount signed, Onana on the way, Rashford renewed. Do you think that if Hojlund signs too, they'll be brave enough to announce that they're staying? Or maybe they'll just never mention it again and hope people forget.

I disagree.

If you’re claiming it’s a regime, as you are, then you KNOW they can easily afford to blow this out of the water.

So them choosing not to do so, and instead buying a better facilitated club for far less money, doesn’t ‘humiliate’ them at all.

As long as they succeed at whatever club they were to take over, they’d come out of it fine.

It’s the Glazers and / or whoever is running Utd that are more likely to end up looking like mugs imo.

Yeah, this is as clear a sign as I've seen in a while that there's a decision that's pretty much made. It's got to have come from the Glazers side in some form, so it's only fair to assume that them staying is suddenly very much back on the agenda. I don't even think they're doing it to try and smoke out another buyer, because the info has been put out there too low key.

Whoever runs their PR is extremely predictable.

They may as well just do that now

Yeah exactly

Makes no sense for them to stay. In what world would the club increase in value without investment in the stadium and the squad. The reality is the asking price resulted in interest from only 2 billionaires, that's as good as it gets for them.

If they are intending to stay then the statement signing would be Kane, bought with the Glazer’s own money - but yeah, that’s not going to happen. Still find it difficult to see how all 6 Glazer’s are happy to stay. If J&A are still here it can only mean they are going with Ineos, with Sir Jim buying out the other 4 plus the A class shares.

Johnny Evans love him to death but that’s a Glazer signing all day long!
He’s signed a short team deal For just the preseason, his wife still works for the media team and they still live in Cheshire. You can think what you want but he’s here to stay fit and find a new club.

I think I’ve already posted that I was joking

They are still trying to squeeze £6bn from one of the bidders and that could be decided by the first party to blink.

It’s really that simple the Glazers want £6bn, the current bid from both parties is not £6bn but they could accept £5.7-5.8bn as things drag on, as there is a diminishing return for the bidders, they now can not have any influence in this summers transfer window.

That’s the reality of the process, the Glazers could stay to October / November or all of next season, but they need to sell or suffer higher FFP fines unless they actually put some of their own money into the club and we know that’s never going to happen !

Can I ask what info you are using to come to the conclusion that it may now happen for £5.75-£5.8 bn? It's so weirdly specific, and I can't see how you could possibly be doing anything other than guessing. Also, how do you know the Glazers are holding out for £6bn, and how do you know the amount by which the Qataris would look to reduce their bid by in the event that they can't get a deal over the line before the transfer window ends?

Yeah, and the ‘subtle’ shift from -

‘The Glazers will announce who they’re selling to’… to, ‘The Glazers will announce whether they’re selling or staying’.

fecking cretins. Honestly don’t reckon Utd will ever be free of them.

That’s their tactic. Drag it out long enough that people will get to the point they’re desperate for a resolution one way or the other, so when they announce they’re staying it will be met with relief it’s finally over rather than rage that they’re staying.

Oh believe me there will be rage coming
