Maybe it'll end with some backroom deal between Qatar and Jim, INEOS had set up plants in Saudi, maybe Qatar will offer favourable terms to build there in exchange for dropping out

Wish he would drop out of the process

Strongly suspect that Joel is the key family member holding out, with Avram following like a lost dog. It’s also worth considering that Joel Glazer played a leading role in the attempt to set up the breakaway SuperLeague.

You have a 50/50 chance of being correct.

Funnily enough, that is on average a higher rate than me :wenger:

Your rate isn't exactly stable, though. Your last 500 posts have come since June 4th, theirs since May 4th. 31.25 posts a day from you, 10.6 from @VP89.

I think the point was more along the lines on consuming and spreading fake news on purpose, though.

Just did a quick google search and it says Chelsea's owner Todd Boehly is worth $5.9b and Sir Jim Ratcliffe is worth $20.9B.

Still massively prefer Qatar but if Boehly can spend the way he is at Chelsea while being worth a quarter of SJR, what's to stop Jim doing the same if he wins.

P.s They also need a new stadium, like us.

Clear Lake are majority investors of Chelsea heavily funded by Saudi Arabia.

I think they are all holding out for more money and this idea there is a divide is horseshit

Think we are in the home straight and the lack of noise is a good sign things are about to come to a close.

This reminds me of the first Moyes season, where the Glazier’s didn’t bring him in earlier to save pennies of compensation.

They’re not going to buy anyone and they’re going to sell as late as possible to eek every penny out of potential bidders. And this again will be a wasted season.

Do you mean they didn't fire him earlier? We hired him pretty quickly after SAF retired. Unless you are referring to his late start, which is his own fault because he decided to take a one month long holiday instead of getting a head start at the most difficult job in football at the time.

Wether we get THE news today I have no idea but I expect we will get SOME news after 4 days of relative silence

To be fair I can’t see how fans could be updated. I’d also say saying the club is all about their best interests, they’re the ones selling the club.
Agree with the sentiment but Gary makes it up as he goes along as per usual

Good morning to everyone except the Glazer family! Now give us some news.

I do think the Glazers will be aware of the transfer window though.

I think they want to feck off before the pressure turns up on them to start making signings.

I think there’ll be significant progress by this time next week. Well, significant relative to the speed that the Glazers take with every single decision.

Yeah they are aware that the window is open. I reckon they use the transfer window to get a higher bid.

They will use this transfer window for their advantage instead of the clubs. The potential buyers will start to get twitchy the longer this drags because they want to back the manager and they will be like, if you want this done now, pay extra 500m and we will sell.

Hats of to you for having the faith, I am in a position where I dont have any faith in them to do anything that is right for the club.

No surprises to see the Glazers act in this way.

They'd rather tank another transfer window and set the club back another few years but get another million quid from the new buyers. They're a joke really. They really are greedy leeches.

I do think the sale will happen, and I think it will be Qatar. Simply because if they want something money is no barrier and they will get it done.

I just hope they do manage to get it done in the next 2-3 weeks so there is plenty of time left in the transfer window.

For it to be done in August, they’d need to be accepting one of the bids in the next few days to allow for the approval stage

This isn’t getting done until early 2024

One thing we have heard a lot is that they're getting both in a position where most of the details are done so the transition is quicker. But we've been bullshitted before, so...

The approval process isn't by either of these it's by the PL and other parties, takes 8 to 12 weeks.

Due to it being dragged out surely the potential new owners have some kind of an agreement in place with the parasites regarding summer transfers, as in whatever is spent this summer if it’s not completed will be tacked on to the price to buy the club ?

If nothing else it firmly shows that all the briefs of the two main parasites not wanting to leave because of ‘emotional attachment’ to the club is complete bollocks as them dragging this out is damaging all the work ETH did last season, the battle for top four will be harder next season yet ETH seems like he’s working with his hands tied behind his back.

It will be 8-12 weeks from 'deal agreed' to new owners actually taking control, according to Mike Keegan in The Mail last week - largely a result of the lengthy approval process.

If that timescale is accurate, then, assuming the sale is agreed this week, we'd be looking at a best case scenario of w/c 14th August (and possibly as late as w/c 11th September). Will the deal be done this week, though? I have my doubts.

It's soul destroying. A huge chance was there this summer to make some sensible signings and move others on who aren't part of the plan. Yes, I am aware we aren't even in July but this issue is overshadowing everything. I am one of the biggest transfer muppets going but I'm struggling to see anything remotely of interest right now because we haven't a clue what the club can even spend.

Even an announcement, or something, indicating what is happening and if a preferred bidder has even been chosen, would raise morale but it is a pathetic situation.

Rant over.

There's a genuine part of me that wants both INEOS and Qatar to feck off just so the Glazers can watch the value of their club plummet/destroy their reputation. They wouldn't be able to force a bidding war like this again, especially following the inevitable backlash that would take place if they were to stick around as is.

Seriously - this process is absolutely torturous and setting ETH for a painful second season. We need to be proactive and nothing about the current situation helps us.

The Glazers will wrap this up midnight on transfer deadline day as their final act of screwing the club over!

Just keep telling yourself one day United will be rid of these ugly rats.

The Glazers will do whatever nets them the most money with absolutely no regard towards the fans, whether positive or negative. The longer they drag this out, the more chance one bidder drops out. There's plenty reason to think both bidders will be furious and offer a lower price if they have to miss out on the transfer window

Everyone else getting on with their transfer business whilst the Glazers just hold us up.

F-king sick of it. Get the fk out of our club now.
