Hopefully there will be some significant movement this week so we can begin to move forward and heal the fractures in the fanbase.
I fear we are getting left baader in the transfer race which will set us back next season. Really unfair to Erik ten Hag after the impact
he has had already at the club. Think the Glazer's are meinhof or give a feck? Not one solitary feck do they give between them.

It’s mid June. Even if we were in the same boat in 4 weeks re. Transfers I’d describe it as standard from us.

¿Que?

Really getting pissed off wth all of it now.
We are no closer to new owners than we were 6 months ago and nor does it look like we will be before the season starts.
Like wise with transfers, nobody in, does not look like we will be getting anybody in soon, so long has its not fecking Pickford !

This is probably the first time the Sir Jim biased UK media are reporting that Qatar are leading the bidding.

Only a matter of time now.

Don't expect his biggest cheerleader Lawton to ever do that because that's like admitted you got it badly wrong

Reuters reported this last week. Reuters is a UK media agency, founded and headquartered in London.

I can totally see Joel rubbing his hands and licking his lips as he reads the last few pages of this thread. This is exactly what he wants.
If he ever learns how to monetise it, he will be unstoppable.

*Ben Jacobs chimes in*

Aaaactually the Sun doesn’t necessarily shine anymore in Summer than in Winter, it’s just that you’re angled more towards it and so it gives the impression that it’s shining more. But it’s important to understand that’s not what’s happening at all.

*Disappears back into his Ben Jacobs lair*
I know nowt about angles and such like, but I can tell you where the sun doesn't shine :)

It's genuinely looks like the Glazers want to destroy us and have a personal vendetta against us, What are they want from us ?

My suspicion is RATcliffe is putting together another package where the Glazers get even more, whether it's money or shares in the club.

He lost out on Chelsea and seems hell bent on not missing out on Man Utd too.

Genuinely wouldn't blame the Qatari's if they just pulled out at this point and went for another club.

Dealing with the Glazer lizards saps every bit of energy out of you.

He could have a point on this one though,Erik will only be able to bite his tongue for so long
Was mocked yesterday for suggesting ETH threatening to resign, and then actually resigning (if final resolution isn't announced) would move the needle in any way, because 'he's only an employee', as if his profile and what that decision would signify to the markets, was no more than that of some data scout.

Admittedly only a 'layperson' myself, but piecing it broadly together from 'informed' twitter types, there are a lot of people with little sentimental interest in football but who have stakes at some level in United alongside the Glazers, who are also losing patience (and seeing corroborated what closer examination of their corporate intelligence-gathering should have revealed- these aren't 'serious people', to paraphrase Succession) , particularly when it comes to this club, and they're neglecting fiduciary responsibility with heir antics, let alone the kind of duty towards clubs flourishing that the rest of us care about. ETH leaving would play into a narrative, which at some level is all these things are (probabilities and trends) -a suspicion around a truth the Glazers have been trying to suppress, about the 'brand', let alone the team, that a few sponsorships coasting off the back of SAF's era and the odd trophy since, can't obscure, and the way they've run out of track. In practical terms, Glazers can't afford not to cash out to all intents and purposes anyway, but, again, we've read the news about savvier groups fecking up deals with their hubris and what saves us in the end, in that event, might indeed be other 'sharks' essentially forcing them to resurrect it and on worse terms for the Glazers themselves...

The problem is, what Andy Mitten said. The Glazer's have achieved what they wanted and that is a bidding war. This why we are deadlocked. Each time someone retaliates with another bid, it takes another 2 weeks for Raine to go over it.

It will take someone to drop out for this to come to a conclusion. This is where Jassim has gone wrong. He did not really appeal with his 100 % demand and only incrementally increasing his offers thus far.

Tbh I don't see it. I'm sure he's getting frustrated, but he also likely knows if Qatar wins and clears the debt he's basically going to have a dream job going forward, he'll get a budget of about 200m every summer based off our own revenues, he hasn't achieved enough to get a job at Real Madrid or bayern or the like just yet either, so no other club is going to offer anything close to this kind of potential. If, and I in no way think this is even remotely likely, the Glazers don't sell, then yeah he might leave but before then I don't see it

Maybe it'll end with some backroom deal between Qatar and Jim, INEOS had set up plants in Saudi, maybe Qatar will offer favourable terms to build there in exchange for dropping out

If I was in his position, I think I would be seriously thinking of quitting.
Right now there is no end to this utter shamble of a cub sale and no transfers that look even remotely being completed.

I am sure if ETH voices any thoughts of that, it will only enrich the Glazers.

Feel sorry for Ten Hag. This is the kind of stuff that can cost him his job without it even being his fault.
Yeah. Imagine if we have a shambolic summer and the sale only goes through at the end of the transfer window. ETH could find himself managing an incomplete squad while reporting up to people who didn't hire him and who don't necessarily share his vision. Very stressful prospect.

Just did a quick google search and it says Chelsea's owner Todd Boehly is worth $5.9b and Sir Jim Ratcliffe is worth $20.9B.

Still massively prefer Qatar but if Boehly can spend the way he is at Chelsea while being worth a quarter of SJR, what's to stop Jim doing the same if he wins.

P.s They also need a new stadium, like us.

Personal net worth isn't really relevant here. Boehly doesn't own Chelsea, his consortium with Clear Lake and other investors does. Likewise, Ratcliffe isn't personally bidding for United, INEOS is.

Tbf Ratcliffe owns 2/3rds of ineos and that represents almost all of his worth, so it's almost like he's funding it from his own wealth, becusse ineos isn't worth that much more than he is, 50%. Which while obviously that sounds a lot, its not close to boehly who's business represents multiple times his net worth

I'm not sure Boehly should have spent the way Boehly has at Chelsea, let alone Ratcliffe.

But in broad terms and ignoring short term FFP type restrictions, yes. There's nothing preventing Ratcliffe/INEOS from overseeing massive spend at United, either on players or infrastructure, as they have enormous wealth and access to further financing to support that. The degree to which these ludicrously wealthy entities have been framed as relative paupers is one of the many oddities of this thread.

The key question in that regard though is what they actually want or plan to spend and how that fits into their plans for the club. Just because they could do something doesn't means it's certain or even probable that they will. And that's just from a business POV, let alone a football-specific POV where they or anyone else may have qualms about that Boehly approach.

Boehly put an idiot in charge of Chelsea and Ratcliffe put idiots in charge of Nice and Lausanne

In that sense, quite similar.

The Chelsea sale was forced and the incoming buyer needed to put up funds for future investment in addition to the price paid for the club as they were getting a discount on the sale. That’s how/why Boehly is spending a lot, and he also has a deep pocketed consortium backing him too.

It isn’t the same dynamic here where the Glazers don’t care about future investment in the club.
