 What are you on about!?

Most locals I know personally are part of the ‘pro-Qatari lot’, as you called them in your post.

Literally all my Utd supporting family in Manchester are in favour of 92 Foundation, and some of them have been supporting Utd 60 plus years.

Maybe update your erroneous view that the ‘pro Qatari lot’ are all young, non locals screaming for ‘aNnounCe MmbApe!!!’ because it’s not the case, at all.

Trying to make out that people who hold a different view on this subject to yourself somehow ‘don’t understand’ the club is fecking bullshit and completely ludicrous given how many long time local fans strongly prefer Jassim.

Ask @Neil67 for example.

Well said.

There’s a lot of top red sh*te coming into this thread now and it’s ridiculous.

I’m from Manchester, as is my father and my grandfather… all United fans.

For my money, anyone who would rather keep the Glazers over Qatar or anyone for that matter can get to feck.

Certainly, anyone who doesn’t hate the Glazers on a cellular level can feck off trying to tell me they love the club ‘more’.

Bring back the Swedish guy who wanted to crowd fund £6 billion. At least that was funny.
The club should retire the number 6000,000,000 in his honor. You were our only hope Mr. Zilllicccioscouss. Sorry, couldn't remember his first name.

I never liked the idea of a state bid, but now i would be just happy with any buyer and that this takeover is finally over, whoever buys us. It’s getting really irritating, the long process, the endless same discussions on this forum and the transfer window with not enough money to spend probably. Just let the takeover be over soon.

Has there been any update after the reuters/RMC news and some outlets disputing that?

I must say that I am heartbroken after reading this - https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...ffer-in-the-silence-of-qatars-broken-promises

If you look up my post history, it will be clear that I am pro Qatar bid. I firmly believe that the PL has left us no choice by letting us get bought by parasites and then allowing nation states to run football clubs. I strongly feel that this is the only way to stay competitive in the long run.

Having said that though, I can't fathom why they would put a man in prison for such a trifle. Just pay him and send him on his way. What good will come out of denying a man his legitimate pay? It's hard to reconcile what he and his family is going through against the wishes of seeing my club be competitive.

Football is not that important. Not more important than someone's life. I am going anti-Qatar going forward. I don't want to associate myself with a nation that does this to its migrant labors.

He has said in numerous occasions that he dislikes both. As pretty much most sane people do. The reality is that we all want the club to be fan owned, which for some reason is not part of the debate.

Can you link to Rood being actually critical of Qatar? He hasn't ceded an inch in conversation with me. I am prepared to stand corrected.

Or you are imagining things.:)

Or maybe just make a thread to defend his honour?

So are you guys taking it down to Lou Macaris next Friday or wot? If it's all kicking off I want TikToks of wumminator taking or giving a body slam on to a stained pavement covered in walked on chips.

I have no idea who he was calling out to be honest. It all came from nowhere.

I genuinely don't know how to respond to you without giving the other side plenty of ammunition, but I don't want to spend a second post speaking to a newbie with less than 50 posts. The fact I blessed you with a post in the first place has annoyed me.

No but it has been the weekend
Wasn't Sunday usually the day for big exclusives in the past?

This feels weird.. kinda like everyone has been told something and there is an embargo.

If the bs resumes tomorrow, then probably not.

In the most recent pod with Ali, you said you were Radcliffe? Seem to remember a fairly lengthy chat with him about it. Proves a point.

Yes myself and Ali Woods had a good debate on it a few weeks ago on this episode:
https://www.redcafe.net/threads/the...ate-united-hour-podcast.477125/#post-30567460

actually by that point I was preferring Sheikh Jassim and Ali was firmly in the Ratcliffe camp.

I had initially thought Sir Jim was the best option though (Manchester lad, experience in football, well known British billionaire etc) and voted for INEOS in the poll on here.

However, as I looked into the fortunes of Nice and Lausanne plus did more digging on INEOS, there were a lot of worrying red flags. I didn't like the partial deal he came up with that left some Glazers around either.

At the same time I did a lot more research into Sheikh Jassim and his family to understand who exactly they were and what kind of money and investment experience they had. I found that online estimates of their personal wealth were wildly inaccurate and they could easily afford to buy the club privately which put big question marks on whether this was the state bid that many claimed. There is still a lot of unknowns with them TBF but they have been clearer with promises on debt, the stadium etc so on balance it seems the better bid for the club.

Still as I've said many times, I just want a deal done either way ASAP. The worst thing for ETH is this period of uncertainty.

I don't stalk his posts, i listen to the podcast and he has been very clear there.

I don't either, I got such a pain my neck with the world cup debates I stayed out of this thread until recently.

But I know all I have gotten was pushback from him on any criticism of Qatar. Perhaps I've just been unlucky and have a skewed sample.

OK. Rood likes both bidders. Noted.

Actually Ive said many time that I have major issues with both bids but these are the only choices we have and id take either of them over staying with the Glazers who have mismanaged for a decade now.

@Rood @711 @moses come on folks, this Staff and Scout fighting in the mains is giving the weaklings too much entertainment. We should all go back to the secret scout thread where we send each other death threats and knob shots.

I would love to but I'm now off to prepare for the next podcast - maybe tomorrow?

We're still only the 3rd biggest football related thread and 7th overall. Got a long way to go to beat Trump.

Bloody hell. I thought this was the biggest thread going. You're meaning to tell me there are bigger ones out there? Holy smokes. We need to pump those numbers up, this is rookie level.

Wish I had access to the playstation thread. I'm a huge gamer. I usually have Lynn look through Teletext for any United related info. It's solid gold.

She's a hard worker, Lynn, but er...she's got a moustache.

Private wealth in a Middle eastern absolute monarchy is a nebulous concept. The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia recently locked up the other sheikhs in a 5 Star Riyadh hotel till they signed over their wealth.

"This was a shakedown operation and a power consolidation operation," said one former senior U.S. official who was in office at the time.

The Ritz detentions were designed "to remind people going forward that their wealth and their well-being would depend on the crown prince and not anything else, which is why it was so upsetting for many in the royal family," said the former official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

In the same way Abramovitch was privately wealthy but in practice he had to obey Putin or he's be out the window. As soon as Ukraine happened he was forced out of Chelsea for that reason.

It’s basically a “we know nothing” thread. The “Joel takes his time making decisions” news is pure Python.

If Glazers didn't lie about improving the communication, it would be very easy to disprove. Unfortunately those few, garbage reports are the only things we have and they do seem to be consistent over the years.

If this continues then the manager should resign, he is getting messed about, he got messed about last January by the gimps with those shite loan signings, the so called biggest club in the world signing loan signings from Burnley, if this continues he should walk before the start of the season..

It makes no sense to do that. He is on a well-paid contract, everybody knows he’s hamstrung, and once the takeover is done (and presuming neither bidder is a bullshitter) he will have money to do the deals.

Jesus. What a stupid, pretentious post.

He won’t but he’d be well within his rights to do so. This is ridiculous, we all knew the Glazers didn’t care for the club but this is actually working against it at this point. EtH knows far more than we do though.
