Club Sale | It’s done!

I’ve stayed very quiet on the matter, but I do think it’s sad. Not that people don’t care about the sports washing or human rights arguments, hey, each to their own.

What I find sad is that some posters are being mocked, ridiculed or jeered for having the audacity to mention that it’s an uncomfortable situation to be in morally that the club you support and love may become a play thing of some Arab state when the vast, vast majority had those same opinions when it was City being taken over, when it was PSG, when it was Newcastle.

People are being called hypocrites for having an issue with Oil state ownership but putting petrol in their car, when the real hypocrites are the hundreds of posters who were appalled by the Oil states buying City and Newcastle but are now like “hey, it’s the world we live in” or “it’s the only way to compete.”

It’s not about people having the audacity to speak up, it’s the fact we’ve had about 4-5 different threads on the morality argument, and it’s basically the same conversation repeated over and over again. At this point it’s just repetitive and would be better placed not in this thread where most people (at this point, having discussed the morality aspect to death) just want updates.

seriously go find the numerous Saudi threads when they were interested in us, it’s the same discussion in every one.

We need some news on this, quick. This thread is going to keep getting regurgitated.

I have no clue why this thread keeps going? Unless its heading is changed. It's not about Glazers sale, just posters telling others why they hate certain countries. It's for sure not the reason I would click on this thread. I wish the mods would get involved the internet warriors are killing this thread for others looking for info on the sale.

heard Ghislaine Maxwell is going to buy United, am sure some in this thread will be posting about how she's a shining beacon of morality now

I was thinking how mad it is that “The richest British man” Sir Jim Ratcliffe doesn’t have enough money to buy a football club

He already owns a football club. He can probably buy a few more football clubs. Just not Manchester United.

Thanks, great addition :D
Just about as valuable as bringing up Ghislaine Maxwell tbf. The world is the way it is, taking a moral stand is cool but at the end of the day it’s you that’s losing out. There are no good guys. Not how big business works. Supporting the club doesn’t mean you’re best friends with who owns it or even agree with what they do in either business or in their own countries.

Jesus, came in because I thought there might have been an update and now I feel like I just walked into the Nuremberg trials by mistake.

Same here. I literally scroll through to see if theres been any updates via tweets or whatever and leave just as quick.

Cool bro.

Anyway, this thread is a pretty boring circular discussion that just ends in people pontificating about arse nobody asked them about. Better off just using this thread for updates as it's just become a homing beacon for edgelords and agenda posters to spam about their chosen agenda of the week.

Amazing logic there by Kieran. The market cap is currently $3.8bn and we have another £1bn of debt, so you only have to google to get that 'valuation'.

Kieran Maguire could spare himself some blushes and just wait 4 months and actually see what United are being sold for instead of mindlessly speculating.

He is a known, massive Liverpool fan in fairness, surprised he even put the valuation above Chelsea's.

I think he is Brighton Fan.

No sh*t Sherlock

I'm being a bit of a picky tit. But the "investing in the first team squad" (ie signings) part doesn't seem a crucial part.

Simply letting United spend their own profits would allow them to stay competitive with city and Newcastle.

The crucial part is investment into the facilities

He would know that market cap doesn’t equal value then. The stock market is always forward looking, the Glazers are looking for the price they believe the club will be worth in the next 10 years, not today.
I’m fairly sure he knows.

In all those 4-5 threads, anyone who says they’re uncomfortable with the prospect of a state backed ownership are ridiculed too.

I just find it funny to be honest. I’d estimate about 95% of this forum objected to the City and Newcastle takeovers on moral/sports washing and/or financial doping grounds. But when it’s us, “it’s the only way to compete” and the ones who still have reservations are the hypocrites because they put petrol in their car.

That Tifo vid is for the general fan who is coming to this for the first time/been living in a cave. There is absolutely nothing in it for anyone following this at all closely (i.e. United fans).

To be fair, his valuation is higher than our market cap but it's basically market cap plus debt.

Who the feck is this bloke?

Football finance expert. The tweets are just from the tifo vid where nothing was really said.

Aggregator accounts falsely claimed we have dubai interest when the tifo video made it clear it was pretty speculative.

I'm not surprised, there will be a bunch of click bait stuff this month because we're desperate for it
